Good value”
Nothing on Koh phi phi is cheap. Costs of everything in Thailand is very expensive now. Gypsy was a good value for the price. The breakfast provided was really. I don't know why people complain about it. All the staff were so nice and kind. The scrambled eggs were a bit salty but the fried egg was perfect. You can ask for no meat and they give you an extra egg. The air conditioning made us both sick. So I'm guessing they need to change their filters. We would cough and sneeze when we were in the room. If we spent the day out we we're fine. So Definitely something going on there. But all in all we loved it. It was quiet and so clean on the property. The pool was warm but still refreshing.

a quiet sanctuary in busy Phi PHi”
Loved our stay here, a quit spot on the busy phi phi island yet close enough to walk 5 minutes into the centre. the staff are nice and we enjoyed watching to locals gather daily to play their game of soccer on the grounds. nice pool. they have both new and old rooms, we stayed in the older rooms which were great value for money with access to the brand new pool

We upgraded to gypsy sea view which is a must ”
the stay was good - no complaints just if you go there call the hotel to meet You at the pier to bring your luggage cause it's a far walk with luggage - you have to ask them To do this though If you want to stay in a quiter part of KOH phi phi by tonsai pier this is ideal

Would stay again”
We left booking this accommodation quite late in the year and over Christmas was an expensive period so we were on a budget. This suited our expectations and were happy for what we payed for considering this. You have access to the villa swimming pool and a reception as well as a buffet breakfast. This suited us fine and they freshly cooked eggs and pancakes for example. The staff were friendly and helpful too. On arrival we had a cold cloth and orange juice which is a nice touch after a sweaty walk from the pier. Just 10 mins walk, it's not far at all I think people who say it's far must be used to resorts on doorsteps. The only negative of the bungalows is there isn't any room to put your things so everything was over the floor, it was clean and very good air con.

Big rooms, and clean and far away from everywhere”
The gypsy village is a bit of a trek away from the rest of the festivities In koh phi phi. If you are looking for something close to the action and easy to go to and from town a few times, this probably isn't a good spot for you. That being said, the rbathroom was big, tand the beds were

Basic and cheap (for the island)”
Stayed here for 4 nights. Gypsy Village is two places Gypsy 1 and Gypsy 2. There is only a short walk between them but after the long walk from the pier in the heat its not what you want, especially when you see the standard on the Gypsy 1 accommodation to the Gypsy 2. The check in was not the normal Thai welcoming, we were faced with a cold faced 'person' who seemed to have an attitude problem, which was maintained our whole stay. The male staff there were very happy and helpful. Gypsy Village doesnt collect you from the pier so you need to get there yourself. If you get stuck ask at the dive shops as they are normally english speaking and very helpful. As you come off the boat at the Tin Sai Pier turn left and just keep walking and walking for about 20 mins and after a few corners you eventually reach reception. The room was basic and so was the bathroom. There was no safe deposit box in the room but you have the holes for a padlock on the outside of the room so worth taking your own. The room was very hot during the day and night, it cooled slightly at 2-3am but the rest of the time really hot. The fan on the celling is a desk fan size that rotates round in a circle. The room is cheap but its just a place to sleep as there is so much other stuff you can do on the island. Its close to the beach (about 500m). I would 110% suggest hiring a private long tail boat from the beach for half a day from 12-1pm until 7pm-ish. We did this as a group of 4 and paid 2600b, went snorkelling, saw bamboo island, Maya Bay, Monkey beach and the best sun set i have ever seen. You cant see a full sunset on Phi Phi because of the location of the mountains so the best place to see it is in the sea, then wait an extra 10 mins until the sun has nearly gone down and enjoy the colourful sky!.

Great stay, quiet place to sleep”
Our stay was wonderful. The front desk lady was more than accommodating. She moved us into a bungalow without a problem on our second night as that is what we were under the impression that we booked. The beds were clean and comfortable, one of the best we had so far in our travels. The location was a little far if you want to be in the hustle and bustle but for us it was perfect because we wanted a quiet place to sleep. We still went out every night and only had a 10 minute walk back to our room. The shower was hot, the air conditioner worked amazingly. A couple great English movie channels when it was raining which was lovely as well. The restauraunt (when it was open) had excellent food, although it hardly seemed to be open long. Very nice pool, however needs more shade as it's extremely hot during the day. All in all was an excellent stay. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best!

Don't have expectations”
We had a very pleasant stay there. We were in the bungalows opposite the new main building. We didn't have anyone come in to clean brush or give us fresh towels or change any beds. This usually wouldn't be a problem as we are very clean and tidy, but unfortunately the road/path in front of the bungalows are very sandy and wet. No matter how hard you try to keep the place clean, the sand goes in with towels, bags or flip flops. This spot will be priceless one day when all these bungalows have been updated. Lovely helpful staff everywhere. The breakfast was acceptable but the staff there wouldn't bring the things you needed out to the front. We had to ask for everything, even an hour before it finished.Stay in the Sea View and you wont be disappointed. They recommended the Cosmic to eat and we ate there every night for the 3 nights!

Great bungalows”
Returning here after 4 years the improvements they have made to the bungalows of TV and air con are great, the swimming pool is an amazing addition too, just could do with some umbrellas, breakfast is a good choice and being away from it all means you can get a good nights sleep but easy walk to all the restaurants and a shop just on the corner, wifi was a bit weak, staff were friendly and helpful and let us use the pool after we had checked out, 1000 baht key deposit due to people slipping out without paying in the past

Big fat gypsy village”
Served the exact purpose required, i.e. One night in phi phi, away from the crowds and noise, and at the right end of ton sai to walk to long beach. The room was not great value for money. No fridge to keep food and water cool. Not that clean. Bathroom smelt of sewer.

Pay extra for the new rooms”
Pay extra for the new rooms. The old cabins look horrible. Avoid the breakfast its terrible. The room was nice and the hotel was nice and quite compared to most of Phi Phi.

Lovely hotel”
There are two Gypsy Village, I stayed in Gypsy 2, which is a little far from the beach. The room is very large, quite comfortable, but a lot of mosquito.

Totally basic but ok!”
I really just needed a place for the night and it was very cheap and ok for one night, with own bathroom and fan the room was situated in the second area of Gypsy Village, not the first one.

Decent place for a short stay”
Stayed three nights in the pink bungalows and thought it was okay for what we needed: a simple, clean place. A few things to note though: the bungalows are sparsely decorated with minimal space to put and hang things, the wifi doesn't work in the rooms and I would avoid no 11 if possible as it's next to a not so attractive outdoor area which isn't the greatest view when you're trying to relax on the veranda. But. The breakfast was ok, pool and a/c nice on hot days, TV with few English channels good when sick, location good (close enough to everything without getting too noisy and only 10-15 min from ferry) and they had a bag drop service to/from the ferry. All in all, a decent place for a short stay.

Would stay here again”
It was lovely location, so beautiful, quiet and still close to everything. Staff were so lovely, clean the rooms and sheets everyday. Pool was very clean and breakfast so good! However the bathrooms have no windows so tend to get a bit smelly and hot in there. Ants in our room were really annoying and the aircon didn’t go higher the 18degrees so was quiet cold. Besides those small things it was so worth the money

Bit disappointed but OK”
Went low season so very wet and quiet as expected. Posh reception and new rooms but bungalows a little disappointing. Had heavy insect infestation in bathroom on arrival - soon fixed with spray but better not to have been there. Strange room layout - pretty compact and spartan with no wardrobe and small dresser and clothes horse. Quiet location but short stroll 'downtown'. Good pool and included breakfast was OK. Fair value with Agoda low season discount.

Friendly staff but very basic rooms!”
now for a fan room on koh pipi island at this price there isn’t too much choice. i was staying at the oasis 2 guest house (they have two on the island) which have nicer cleaner rooms and free wifi but the fan was too far away on the top floor rooms so it does get very hot after 10.30am. these rooms are just by the kick boxing gym and are very basic and could really do with a make over but you do get your own shower and bathroom and the staff (a family) are all very friendly and you never get the sense they are just after your money which is often the case on koh pipi it’s very much budget no thrills but they do it with a smile!

Rubbish”
for 16 quid a night we were pretty horrified at the bad value for money. Self flushing toilets, cold shower, dirty room, very hot. Would not bother with phi phi again- too much of a rip off, much nicer islands out there.

bungalows=bunga-nos! ”
We booked 5 nights. Stayed 1. Bungalow was small, no hot water, minimal and broken furniture, no safe deposit box, bungalow was next to a tip, 15 minute walk from the pier, next to a mosque. Basically if all you want it somewhere cheap it's passable but if you have the extra money spend it and stay somewhere nicer.
