        Hands-Down Sh*ttiest Sh*thole ”
This was by far the sh*ttiest place I have ever stayed in my entire life. I have stayed in many places in Koh Phangan, have gone backpacking for a total of about 6 months across SEAsia and India, I've had bedbugs, body lice, and, of course, ants, but this is hands down the worst, nastiest place I've ever stayed in. Granted, I stayed in the bamboo bungalow but they really ought to be torn down, they are not at all suitable for any human to stay in. The thatched roof leaks, debris falls on the bed, I found a rusty nail in the bed, among the other debris, all of the crazy insects that I've not seen in the two years coming to KP I found in one week staying in this place, including the for-real largest spider, also the largest cockroach (and I'm from NYC, we are famous for our giant cockroaches), I have ever seen in real life. There are rusty nails poking up from the floors, not to mention the abundance of mosquito and ants that will find their way into your unclean bed. Don't stay here.

Chill atmosphere, accommodation depends on how much you pay for bungalow”
They have 3 type of bungalows - bamboo, wooden and new bungalows. I stayed in wooden which has just mattress (not the comfiest one, but I adjusted), net above it (which smelled bad, so I couldn't use it first night. Next day I asked if it's possible to change it and they washed it and put back same day.), small fan (doesn't really help during the day but at night is great) and toilet (Thai style, no hot water). The only thing that bothered me was that it doesn't have a ceiling, so between bed and roof is just a net that basically protects you from insects and leaves falling down. Lot of time noise from fruits falling from the tree on the roof would scare me. I've seen bamboo bungalows and they really are in bad condition, they also have ones that are better than wooden bungalows- they look modern and more comfortable. The staff is awesome!! If you want your room cleaned and new towels you have to ask at the reception, it will be done same day. Bar is chill place to hangout and cool!

        Love this place!”
Great ambiance, very friendly staff, delicious Indian food and overall a relaxed and welcoming environment. Would recommend for other digital nomads (good internet and spots to work from overlooking the sea) and anyone looking to relax by the beach - the bar / restaurant terrace is right on the water, beautiful views, amazing sunsets...

        Expensive for quality”
It’s a nice little space, we stayed in one of the white more modern bungalows, it felt grotty, the floors were dirty and the bathroom was a bit grim. We didn’t have hot water as our shower only sometimes worked, we also couldn’t get internet in our room. Bit annoying. And on the last night there were 2 cockroaches that crawled out of the wall beside the bed ! Not great. Staff were mostly really friendly, beautiful beach right in front of the reception/ bar area.

        Could be better”
The bungalow I had booked on Agoda was not the one I got. I checked that coming back home, and it has been quite easy to get reimbursed for the difference of price, good reactivity from Agoda and the manager of the Resort. The bungalow I got was average, the mosquito net full of holes. It has been changed quickly when I asked, but should not even be there considering the high level of mosquito with the bathroom in the bungalow. The blanket was very small, and not very good quality, such as the bed sheets. But the place is very nice, the restaurant very peaceful, on the beach front and the staff is nice. It would be very fine, just with few arrangement in the bungalows.

Most people say in the review of this place, you get what you pay for and I totally disagree with it. Here you pay nothing and you get loads, bungalows are nice and simple, bed, mosquito net and private bathroom. Service is great, it’s really quiet and you’re right on the beach. Couldn’t get any better. Totally recommendable, booked for 2 nights and we stayed more than a week.

Stayed in the bamboo bungalows for 4 nights and enjoyed my time there, though I assume the rooms might be tricky during very hot/humid and rainy season. Staff volunteer workawayers were very helpful and friendly. That is a big plus for a solo traveler.

Rock solid beds, room stank of mold, filthy bathroom, staff very friendly but not very useful.”
Nice location on the beach, but far from any restaurants and the kitchen here either wasn't open or took too long (I ordered muesli, waited over half an hour and saw the 'chef' leave, so I cancelled the order and checked out... It was the final straw)

        Pricey but nice”
Got a little bored at Yao Yai, so decided to change an island. This was four times more expensive than Santhia, but I didn't feel like we got four times better everything. Just the location which is right on the beach and a private swimming pool which is kind of unnecessary in my opinion if you are right on the beach and the big swimming pool is 20 meters away. Nice gym, mostly unused. Friendly staff like in most of Thailand.

If you like to be in contact with the nature, this is your place, otherwise you can suffer a little in the rooms. But the common area is perfect in front of the beach. We really recommend it to not fancy travellers.

I stayed in 2 rooms 250 BATH BUNGALOW: - SMALL, not even the place to walk IN THE ROOM -FLOOR IS MADE BY BAMBOO AND IT WAS SHAKING AT EVERY STEP ( really dangerous, a girl broke the floor and she seriously hurt her leg falling inside it) -MATRESS on the floor and BROKEN MOSQUITO NET ( useless) -ROOF IS BROKEN AND IT RAINS INSIDE !!!!! DOUBLE ROOM -WOODEN BUNGALOW -AGAIN ROOM UPSTAIRS IS REALLY SMALL -MOSQUITO NET DIRTY AND TOTALLY BROKEN -ROOM UPSTAIRS IS REALLY REALLY HOT. AT 9 YOU HAVE TO STAND UP STAFF: -THEY HAVE JUST VOLUNTEERS, trying to do their best but that don't really care about cleaning and improving this place -THE ONLY ONE WORKING CONSTANTLY IS A THAI BOY, that for sure is payed nothing to do everything alone !!!!!! THEY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO STAY IN THE BAR AREA WITH YOUR OWN WATER!!!! YOU HAVE TO PAY TO STAY THERE AND PRICES OF RESTAURANT ARE REALLY HIGH

A creepy night in the dirtiest place we've ever seen”
We payed for 2 nights but we left after the first... And that's something we never did before. The place is cheap, the location is ok (on the beach) and the guy at the reception was very nice. BUT the bungalows (we saw two of them, because we asked to move out from the first after we saw its conditions) were horribly dirty: matress and sheets were greasy and smelly, it seemed that they have never been washed before, the mosquito net was full of dust and dead insects, everything stank like mold, included the dirty bathroom full of insects. We could not lock one of the windows of the bungalow. Don't go there, you can find much better places in ko phangan.

Very Basic, no frills backpacker 'resort'”
The location is perfect for the beach, quiet and safe; some nice places around to eat. You can walk or get a cheap taxi to more lively areas and close to enough shops, yoga studios and spas. Mostly was a base for sleeping, the rooms are extremely basic- and could do with some tlc and a good clean, but all in all for the price I didn't expect too much more. Clean linen and towels, mosquito net (which could do with replacing) and occasional wifi... The staff are very welcoming and friendly and it's a good place to meet people, old school backpacker vibe.

at least the staff was friendly, or some of them. the dorm is a shame : smelly, humid , no mosquito nests wherease the door is opened all the time. the worse are the mattresses: wood is more comfortable. the food is good but not cheap and the restaurant doesn't open before 10ish for breakfast. the showers are like camping ones but its OK for me. Disappointing accommodation”
Nice location, resort on the beach. Bar restaurant zen, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, attracts young hippy travelllers. Restaurant serves good food, good portions at very affordable rates. The non Thai staff very accommodating and friendly. I was caught out at breakfast though as restaurant doesn't open until 11am and no staff around at all so early check out complicated if not arranged in advance. Plenty of other local places open for breakfast. The room itself not at all airtight so bugs and mosquitoes have open access! The mosquito net over the bed was very old and stank of moule and was inaffective as had rips and large holes!! I had the misfortune to be lodged in room 1 right next to a toilet block so very noisy with loo flushings and comings and goings throughout the night. Was given 2 towels but had to ask for a top sheet. Pillows were very old and lumpy. Regretted having booked 2 nights and booked another place just a few steps away the fomlowîg 3 nights.
