Find hotels near Haad Son in Koh Phangan, Thailand

We were staying on Koh Phangan for one night only to attend the full moon party, after arriving at the Haad Son Resort we wished we were staying longer. We'd booked 2 standard garden villas but our rooms had balconies looking out over the water and the sandy white beach, not sure if we got bumped up or not, but it certainly felt like it. You couldnt wish for a better location than this, we could sit on the balcony and watch the sun set over the crystal clear waters of Haad Son beach. Not sure why you would though when there is one of the best bars on the planet only 50 meters away! If it weren't for the full moon party we would have spent all day and night sitting there enjoying the view and ridiculously cheap drinks. After reading some of the reviews we had been slightly concerned about the distance from the hotel to the full moon party (being at the other end of the island) but the hotel organised a shuttle bus to take us down running services at 7, 9 and 11pm... and the cab ride home afterwards set us back only a few hundred baht! Easily worth it to be staying in such an amazing location! If we head back again (which we plan to do) i wont even bother looking at accommodation options, I'll be booking at the Haad Son Resort for sure! Would fully recommend it.

Traveled from Koh Samui via ferry to Haad Rin to attend the Full Moon Party. ***There are two Sea Garden Resorts***. This resort is a 40 minute taxi ride from Haad Rin and is closer to the Thong Sala pier. It was a 15 min. taxi ride from Thong Sala. We reserved a room in their new wing, which was located closer to the road. The room is perfect for families with children. You walk into the room and it looks like a typical hotel room. There is an adjoining room separated by a sliding door. The adjoining room has a large window facing the ocean view and only contains a small dining table and a bath tub. The open room is perfect for a playroom for kids. Otherwise, we only used it to do yoga one morning. The room is as big as the main bedroom. They have a great pool area and a cute coffee shop. Across the street is an all you can eat shabu shabu BBQ spot for only 139 Bhat. The highlight of our stay was. I'm not sure if that is how you spell her name, but she was such a sweetheart! She spoke great English, was so welcoming, and arranged for our transportation to both the Loy Krathong Festival in Baan Tai before we headed to Haad Rin for the Full Moon Party.

Really nice place. I stayed for full moon party, but didn't want to be anywhere near the action. This place was great for that: haad yao is the nicest beach on the island and was quiet and relaxed the whole time. Beware, however: the hill back up from the beach is a killer and you'll find yourself covered in sweat by the time you reach your room. Plenty of restaurants, massage etc on the beach, though to save money, eat up off the beach and head down later for drinks and a fireshow. It is a fair hike from haad rin: roughly 30min by taxi, flat rate 200B (though for full moon they organised taxis for 150B). So be sure to factor this into your costs, if you plan to head to full/black/half moon. Taxis run all night for these parties. Room was beautiful. Hot shower, a/c, tv (thai channels only) and a beautiful, breezy balcony. Only hassle was that I was unable to use the safe in my room and had to move the bar fridge myself in order to plug it into an outlet. No free water, either.
