"Great place to relax and the staff are generally extremely friendly."

I remembered the place really well as I've been here a couple of years ago and promised myself I'd get back.

Would definitely recommend to family and friends, and would stay again if ever in the area.

Even if the staff is very kind and friendly I would’t recommend this place.

Real Thailand bungalow style in comfort”
Haadtien is the perfect hotel! After traveling for 2 months around SE Asia we were so comfortable at Haadtien we decided to stay for 8 nights. It's wonderful there because you feel like you're in Thailand, staying in an awesome bungalow, only inside the bungalows it's super nice. The grounds to the hotel are immaculate and like something out of a movie. We noticed their tagline is "barefoot luxury" which is exactly what it is. Not for snobs, but for people who actually like a "cool" place that's not a backpacker area & well kept room sand a beautiful ambiance everywhere you go on the resort. The beach is also the nicest on Koh Tao and not lined with boats like the other areas. Would recommend only Haadtien on Koh Toa... Charm Churee is listed everywhere and we also checked that out. Same prices but Haadtien is SO MUCH better!!!
We stayed at Haadtien Beach Resort for 5 nights. We stayed in the Castaway beach villas & they are absolutely stunning. Well worth the $ that we paid! Everything about this place is worth raving about. The staff are friendly & very welcoming. The food was so delicious with freshly squeeze juices every morning & great coffee! The snorkelling in Shark Bay is also unreal! Would absolutely stay here again! Away from the hustle & bustle of the main Koh Tao area so it is recommended to hire a scooter however the hotel does provide guests with a free shuttle twice daily into town. Overall loved this place & would give it a 10/10!!!! Would be perfect for a honeymoon destination!!!!!
wow i dont know where to begin”
we have been to thailand and koh tao many times, as backpackers and as luxury holiday goers! i remember the first time i went to thian og bay (shark bay) it was literally just the beach and a shack, you could bearly buy a drink on that beach, and now wow it is a fabulous resort, slightly sad but also very beautifully and tastefully done. we chose to get married on the beach on the 5th of march 2015, and it was magnificent, we stayed in a pool villa, and everything from the moment we arrived was amazing, the service from managerial staff is fantastic, they really took care of us. the room was beautiful. the only thing i would knock is the food, compared to other places on the island its overpriced, which i wouldnt mind if it had tasted incredible but it was bland and not up to standard from my point of view. the price of the rooms is very high, but i understand they have a clientele they wish to cater for and it keeps out the others, I had a wonderful time staying in Haad Tien, and if you have the cash to splash then the rooms are worth it.
Despite the long journey to get to the island of Koh Tao, I totally indulged in the calmness of this perfect little resort in the south part of the island! The rooms, all together built in a bungalow style, but with different levels of comfort, provide everything you need to simply relax! The staff is very friendly and endeavored at all times of the day! In the morning the breakfast buffet provides quite a selection of various tastes; from western to Thai-noodle soup! One thing I have to criticize was the handling of my booking for the ferry to Koh Samui including a transfer to the next hotel: although I was staying alone for the entire duration, tha receptionist booked and charged ticket prices for 2 people. By the time I was checkingmoutnamd had to pay my open bills, I was wondering about the high price for the ferry and the transfer and asked the receptionist why this is such a high sum - he simply answered that this includes the transfer... So I went to the ferry terminal and received two instead of one ticket! A confusing discussion with the lady at the terminal and a short telephone call with the hotel later, I was being assured that the hotel will refund half of the charged price - I don't know yet, if I really got the money... But if not, I'll definitely complain vehemently! Other than this, I had a wonderful, relaxing time at the haadtien resort and would absolutely recommend this hotel to people who really want to have a quiet holiday!
Haadtien is just a must if you are looking for a relaxing stay. The beach is the best on Koh Toa we took a boat around the island and checked out all the beaches...Haadtien definately have the best!! Rooms are amazing, stayed at one of the Cataway villas...perfect for a couple, private with everything you need. Staff very friendly..one or two who can learn how to smile. Mo helped us alot and was extremely kind. Restaurand a bit expensive with drinks - Rockies resort is just 10m away...go and have a drink for half the price. Food also pricy but very good and generous portions. There is a transfer to town every 3 or so hours...you don't miss anything if you just relax at Haadtien! Will recomend Haadtien to anyone. Will definately return!!! Conn: Wish they would send someone out early in the morning to pick up paper and plastic baggs on the beach. There were alot of blue plastic baggs floating in the sea...breaks down the whole paradise idea. I picked them up everyday!!
My requirements were many for our Koh Tao holiday: powder white clean sand (must be flour-fine), 4-5 star beach resort right on the beach, no crowds, swimming pool right next to the beach, nature inspired room with wood feel, good snorkeling right off the beach for my first time snorkeling son. We found all of these with the Haad Tien and more. Every one of the staff gave us the hospitality that Thais are so well-known for. Dave, the assistant manager made our 7 year old feel so at home, so much so that he was always asking me "Where's Dave?" The food at the hotel was reasonably priced and delicious - and surpassed the tastebuds of my picky son. Right on the bay, my son had his first taste of shallow snorkeling in calm clear waters with lots of fish. The PADI dive shop conveniently located IN the resort itself made it so easy for me to book a dive trip out by myself, while hubby and son snorkeled away. We couldn't have picked a better resort on Koh Tao. Thank you Haad Tien - it was really a dream holiday that no little 5 min bumpy road in could dampen!
Exclusive resort on a fantastic beach”
While we were initially concerned about being at a distance from the action on Sairee beach, we were not sorry that we had made this choice. The resort s located on a relatively private beach on Thian Og Bay.The snorkeling a few meters offshore was amazing. We saw Black Tipped Reef Sharks and a large turtle with remoras firmly attached. The service at the hotel was good and the food and staff at the beach bar was great. we did not eat dinner at the main restaurant and so we cannot comment on their food. Sairee beach is very dirty and geared to the younger folk looking to party, while the beach at Haadtien was pristine and the environment quiet and relaxed. This resort is quite pricey, but worth it.
One of the top resorts to stay in Thailand!”
i have stayed in alot of hotels and this is the top three hotels of all time. from the beginning you are greeted at the ferry doc by the staff and taken to a secluded area of koh tao. it's absolutely beautiful, the beach is amazing and the beach bar is the best. i recommend the cocktails they are really good price and very tasty! you cannot fault this place in any way. the food is amazing, the staff are so kind and helpful and the rooms and facilities are immaculate. i will be going back to koh tao and i would never consider staying anywhere else but haditen. we met dome french people who have stayed in many resorts in koh tao and they said that this was the best resort on the island. would also recommend heading down the road and doing some diving it's an amazing experience.
Stayed there for two nights only. Definitely the most 'luxury' place we have been on Koh Tao. Lovely hut. Nice view and cosy. The lounge in front of the Getaway Villas is amazing. The whole resort appears in a very natural and discreet awesome design/architecture. Beautiful and clean private beach. Resort is far away from shops and restaurants. Hotel offers a free shuttle service twice a day to go to Mae Haad (not very charming). Breakfast was gorgeous. Restaurant prices above average but good food. Friendly and professional staff. Directly at shark bay perfect for snorkeling if you want to meet reef sharks. We just can recommend this place.
very unique experience, amazing setting”
We came to the Haadtien for our honeymoon and booked a beach front villa (castaway) and expected to be right on the beach. We received the very last villa on the beach, but apposed to other villas, this one was located on the rocks so we could not sit and enjoy the beach in front of our villa. We felt a bit frustrated since we felt the hotel did not do enough to find us another room like we actually paid for. If you want a room right on the beach better ask for room numbers between 210-216 :) But apart from that, we loved the hotel. It feels like they did everything in order to create maximum luxury with minimum effect to the natural setting. The design is fantastic, in good taste and the beach is beautiful and great to swim in. The staff in the hotel bar and restaurant is very nice and the food was very good and surprisingly not expensive. We had lots of rain on our vacation so we didn't have too much time on the beach or swimming pool, but enjoyed this very special resort anyway. Just note that it is a bit far from the center and unless you rent a mootorcycle (which is a bit scary since the road to the resort is steep and has many holes) you will need to pay 300-400 baht for a taxi each way or use the hotel shuttle that goes 3 times a day. With all that said, this is one of the most unique resorts we've been to so far, with a laid back, friendly atmosphere but with all the comfort and pampering you need. Certainly a place we would love to come back to some day, with better weather and making sure we a got a room on the beach.
haadtien Beach Resort”
Incredibly beautiful location! Friendly staff. The bungalows are very spacious and even most of the hideaway ones have a view of the sea. The hotel restaurant it very good too - not too pricy, considering that the resort itself is very classy- and has tasty fresh seafood. If you're looking for a place to relax in the sun and, drinking coconut milk the whole day - this is it! The hotel shares its beach with another small resort and some tourist venture here on long tail boars of bikes for the day, but it is not at all crowded, like the other beaches on the island may be. However, as there is a large coral right off the beach, so the second that you are in the water you are walking on dead coral. It may be slightly annoying, but the location itself is worth it! It is a little ride away from buzz you encounter when you arrive on the main beach of Koh Tao, so travelling back and forth from the hotel may get tiring for those looking for any activities outside of eating, sunbathing and snorkelling. The hotel also provide a lot of books, magazines and DVDs to lazy around in the evening.
beautiful and quiet”
When you look for a relaxing, quiet place, Haadtien is perfekt. The beach is sort off privat, the restaurant has great big couches to hang around(one day we read, ate and drank from 10am till 10pm in the restaurant!!!), and the gardens with the huge palmtrees are beautiful. When you want to be able to go away a bit in the evening,or need a supermarket, at Haadtien you are quiet far out and have to take an,for Thailand, expensive taxi. The bungalows are nice, but are to our idea a bít overpriced. We expected a bit more luxury for that price. Especially since we stayed at another place before at Railay, and there we payed half the money for more luxury. But here you pay for the privacy, silence and nature...and that's off course also worth quiet a bit. When the swimmingpool, wich they plan to build is there, we would defenitly recommend the place. At the time we were there the sea water was very warm and although we love the ocean, we would have loved to jump in a refreshing pool! But that's about to come. The staff of the resort is really friendly and do their best to make you feel welcome and good.
Super duper awesome resort with the beach right smack in front of our villa!! Staff were very friendly and nice!!! Koh tao is indeed a great island for relaxation and peace. Everything here in Haadtien is indeed great!!! Their little gestures and hospitality towards their guests is remarkably great!!! Keep it up!! 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Our stay at the haadtien beach resort was just perfect. We only stayed for 3 nights but could have stayed here our entire holiday. White sand beach and cristalclear water! We stayed in a pool villa which is just perfect, great pool and lounge on the terras and the rooms are very comfortable. The resort is so peacefull and quiet! Breakfast is great also! I would highly recommend this resort to everyone that is looking for a great hideaway holiday. Sairee beach is only 10 minutes by taxi so very doable.
Amazingly beautiful wonderful resort!”
We enjoyed our stay at Haadtien Beach Resort. The resort is extremely beautiful, well staffed and clean. Their food and drink prices are double what they are at other resorts however, they do offer free beer and pop in your mini bar and free rides into town which somewhat counteract the high price of food and drinks. Also be aware that they are charging 1650 bahts for an hour massage and in town you can get an hour massage for 300 baht.
Great relaxing beach resort with infinity bool”
We stayed at the resort for almost a week because we liked it so much. We had our own little villa with sea view and the beach was very quiet with hardly anyone walking past our deckchair during the day. We spent a lot of time snorkeling in the bay and even saw a small harmless reef shark which was exciting. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of different food. While we were there a new hotel was being built next to the resort so the beach may not be as quiet as it used to be but we would still recommend the hotel as it is away from the busy areas of koh tao.
high speed internet EVERYWHERE, awesome service ”
My friend and I just finished a long stay at a dive hostel where we spent most of our time diving or studying. It was pretty tiring after a few days of training, so we expected to relax and have some great rest, and Haadtien Beach Resort didn't let us down. It was very comfortable and the service was definitely awesome where everyone has a smile on their face and is willing to help when we look lost. Beautiful room design, great rooms and good food at their restaurant. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the sea water wasn't clear enough, so you can't really see anything during snorkeling, acceptable but not perfect.
Amazing resort, fantastic location modern rooms”
Haadtien beach resort is a fantastic place to stay for both couples and families. The location of the resort is right on the beach. The little bungalows/huts are very modern and different to other resorts accommodation, the rooms are very clean and can't be very old. The resort is big and rooms are spread out, which allows for lots of relation. The beach and pool can get very busy as a lot of young families stay here. It is a safe resort for little ones.
Haadtien Beach resort was amazing! Located on the beach means it really is "on the beach" The only downfall was that their food and drink prices are double what it is at other resorts or in town. They do offer free shuttle into town and free water, beer, and drinks from your mini bar which does counteract the high food and drink prices. Absolutely amazing, beautiful, and well staffed resort!
We spent 3 nights in the hotel and did not want to or need to leave its beautiful grounds. Hotel beach Shark Bay is perfect for snorkiling and kayak: hotel provides rental at reasonable price. There were always sunbeds avaliable, although wish therr were more umbrellas for the shade. Hotel Beach Bar has happy hour and drinks/food are reasonably priced considering hotels remote location. Service was efficient and with a smile. Appreciate free shuttle and free Aircon waiting lounge at the pier. If comimg back to Koh Tao, will stay here again.
