Sally from Australia”
The Hadley's Orient Hotel combines the aura of yesteryear with an understanding of the needs of the modern traveller. The 'Afternoon High Tearooms' are just beautiful and the staff move throughout the hotel quietly but purposefully. They are always cheerful and very helpful and seem to have a common sense of pride in their hotel. It was a pleasure staying at the Hadley's.
nice hotel for stay and relax”
The hotel design is traditional and classic. It does not look like a hotel of 180 years! The room is clean and quiet. The water pressure of shower in the bathroom is not stable. It's still ok in summer time, but may be a bit cold in winner. Anyway, it is a great hotel for stay.
Thanks for reviewing your return stay with us at Hadley's Orient Hotel. It is always lovely to hear from our guests. Sounds you very much enjoy the charm and style of our hotel and we appreciate your feedback. We take all feedback seriously, thank you for passing on your comments in regards to the showers. Please don't hesitate to let our friendly team know during your stay should you have any issues and we will do the best we can to resolve these at the time. We look forward to welcoming you for another stay.
Historical hotel ”
The hotel room was very beautiful, located just in the center of Hobart CBD, within 10mins walk to Salamanca area and wharf. The dinning room looks fabulous and classy! We would like to have the high tea in the hotel yet it only serves during Wednesday to Sunday so we didn't get a chance. The staff was friendly and helpful too.
Great Location - quirky hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel - location is great for access to city and port activities. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance. The rooms are huge, well-equipped and the bathrooms newly decked out.
Good Location and friendly staffs”
We were staying for 2 periods. We didn't manage to book the last night, the staff helped us to extend our staying. We were noticed that we might need to move to a family room. But finally the staffs helped to settle down us in the same 2 twin rooms. Thanks a lot for their consideration.
Surprise in a central location ”
Closed to waterfront, Salamanca market and town center. Nice room and amenities in a recently renovated hotel. Aside from the excellent bed, we appreciate the quality of the toiletries provided. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very nice interial design and staff service”
it was out first trip to tasmania and we are glad to have chosen this hotel. We love the unique interial design and the lovely staff performance. there is a bar/[pub beside the hotel and the hotel is within a 10 min walking distance to a park and the bay where you can find food and music. lovely hotel.
great location and nice stay”
Actually I was surprised by the hotel, which looks greater than in photos. I love the atmosphere they presents and nice and helpful staff. I did enjoyed my three nights stay over there. However, the air conditioner in my room was very noisy maybe because the machine was old. the weather in Hobart was very cold and I couldn't sleep with the machine on. Anther thing was the wifi in room, which didn't work during all my stay. I talked to their staffs three time during my stay but they told me that they can't do anything. This answer is never a good answer and they were given three days to fix it. But they failed to make it.
Perfect location, charming & comfortable hotel”
we booked a superior room and the size was quite large! great view of St David's Cathedral as well. Charming boutique hotel - loved the old-world decor but hotel could do with a refurbishment (walls needed to be painted & beds/bathroom updated). Staff were extremely helpful- no faults there. Option for breakfast which is great as there are a very few cafes open early morning on weekends in hobart!PERFECT location as it is at the fringe of CBD, right next to Salamanca and the Marina (Ferry for MONA was literally a few hundred metres away). BEDS are uncomfortable! matress is old and sinks in places so springs must be broken. really needs to be updated. If im looking to save $ on accomm will def be back here, otherwise i might choose another hotel for the comfort option.
The hotel has changed a lot since your stay in 2014. Hopefully, we will be able to welcome you back again soon.
perfect location, hotel with history”
I am very happy with my stay. The staff were helpful, the location was excellent (very close to both the water and the shopping centres), and the entire hotel was just a living museum. You can really tell that there is a lot of history there. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but still quite comfortable. I did not get to use their facilities, but their tea room looks very elegant and brings you back in time. Highly recommend.
we had a very pleasant stay at the "Hadley". everyone knew of it, and also had kind things to say about it as well. the staff people were some of the most helpful ones we've run across over the years, and certainly added to our great experience. we can see why it had the favorable past that preceded our stay... with kind regards, g. Old world charm in the heart of Hobart”
I have stayed here a number of times as a business traveler and also with my partner when we had to go to a wedding. Great location close to Salamanca, and to a Brooke Street pier to go to Mona. Anything you need is within walking distance. Highly recommended.
Travel back in time”
Staying in this hotel was like travelling back in time. The building, the paintings, and the room are well-preserved. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were well-appointed. The "newspaper" was a good touch and we learned a lot about the history of the place. The hotel is close to most of the things to see around Hobart and it is a short walk to the the Salamanca markets.
A beautiful hotel, old world but maintained beautifully.”
The only negative is that the $100 held against mini bar expenses or damage etc had not yet been restored to my bank account more than a day later. Is this the fault of the bank or the hotel? Not sure.
Great location, extremely great service, great rooms with minor flaws”
The service here is exceptional, the hotel staff are extremely caring to a personal level. The rooms are big, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The only flaw is the toilet due to its small size and the difficulty of controlling the temperature of the shower. Overall it was an excellent stay!
Central location, minutes of walk to the pier, restaurants and cafés, shopping district and Salamanca market. They let us check in when we arrived very early in the morning as our room were already ready. Bonus! One drawback is the parking lot is not right next to the hotel and there is a cost of $15 a day in the business parking building.
Enjoyed my stay at Hadley's, the staff were very lovely and upgraded our room which was very large and spacious. I particularly enjoyed the piano player in the Orient Bar attached to the hotel. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to all the major sites in Hobart. I would certainly recommend this hotel, good value for money
Bottom line is we would stay here again. Close to markets and city. Shower over bath for some may be an issue. All rooms may not be like this though. No Foxtel was disappointing but your not here to watch TV I guess. My wife says she loved the feel of the place and it made her feel like she was in Hobart (read Port Arthur) in a nice way as its a heritage listed building.
Our stay at Hadley's was nothing short of fantastic. Location was excellent to all facilities, our room was spacious and well catered for. Dining room and bar were well catered and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend Hadley's as a place to stay and we will definitely be coming back ourselves on our next visit.
Old world Charm”
Hadley's takes you back to the old world charm and service of yesteryear. Our room on the first floor was charming and the renovations were tastefully done. the very high ceilings and decorative architraves were a highlight. the chandeliers and decorative bannister on the stairway also added to the charm. The ability to have high tea and meals in a relaxing atmosphere cannot be understated.
