We just love Cat ba island and especially this hotel. I supposed to spend only 2 nights there but then i spent one more. The rooms and beds are stunning new, the staff girl was so friendly and she can speak a perfect english (she's beutiful too :D). i'm pretty harsh with reviews but I gave 10 to hailong! definitely recommended!

Basic Hotel with Waterfront Location”
A very basic hotel that met our needs as a base for exploring Ha Long Bay. Good location on the waterfront and close enough to the limited number of bars and restaurants in Cat Ba town. Booked 3 nights in VIP room so my expectation was probably higher than it should have been although the view from the 6th floor balcony window (not that you could use the balcony) was stunning. Bathroom leaves a lot to be desired but the room was very clean and functional. Afraid that the hotel just lacked any atmosphere at all and the sparse breakfast (included in the price admittedly) was barely edible. Sad to say that after using 9 different fantastic hotels over a 6 week holiday this was my least favourite. At about £18/night it was however pretty good value for money. For what it's worth My Way Cafe is well worth a visit for fantastic coffees and pancakes...

Clean New Friendly Hotel”
Stay was very comfortable. The hotel is literally brand new as it was still under construction, putting the final touches on the rooms. The staff was very helpful in getting us a scooter to explore the island before we had even asked, predicting our intentions. Everything else was very smooth with the hotel, and I felt it was a secure place. Maybe a little more expensive than the other hotels in the area, however a lot of the other hotels are targeted towards budget backpackers.

Very good value accommodation in an excellent, central location with the most amazing view of the sea, fishing boats and floating restaurants. The staff were warm and friendly and helped us with finding out ferry times etc. The breakfast is small and simple but, overall, everything about this hotel is excellent value. I have already recommended it to my friends and will be returning there with my family next month.

Nice hiking but too toruistic area”
1) we went there in December - so in low season so very few guests in the hotel and in the town in general 2) Hotel staff was helpful despite their lacking English skills 3) Room was very small - very small window facing directly into a wall 4) VERY cold (but the helpful staff provided extra duvet and blankets) 5) Cleaning every day - which is good as the shower isn't separated, so everything is wet after a shower - but at least there was warm water ;) 6) Central location (but that's hard for a hotel in this town not the have due to the size of it) 7) Noise from the floating restaurants are very loud until 22-23 in the evening

One of the best spots on the Island”
Walked around every day and night, still ended up eating at our hotel. Walked around to find a place to rent bikes, ended up renting at our hotel. Walked around to find a cheaper nicer place, found nothing... Highly recommended: great staff and very clean.

In general good”
The hotel is clean and based right at the center. We was unlucky as the day we stayed there was power cut and the whole area had to use electric generator. With that we couldn't use aircon. The hotel gave us 2 fans and free drink in the minibar. The next day we sent luggage and came back after check out time. The hotel staffs gave us another room for free shower. He was nice and kind. We would recommend our friend to come there next month.

Be aware!”
Never leave any money in the room of this hotel! We were seriously robbed until we have been out on a half day boat trip and we only noticed it one day after the incident. Everything looked like nothing had happened and the thief also left us 10 percent of our money to make it more difficult to notice. Anyway the receptionist is a kind and helpful man who speaks English well. I don't think he has anything to do with this ugly case. Despite I do not recommend this hotel to anybody who don't want their luggage searched while they're away.

OK hotel, not great value”
Our stay was fine. It's right on the main oceanfront strip, the rooms were clean, and the staff was fine. On the downside, it was a little pricey for what we got, the WIFI coverage was spotty (we couldn't connect in our room), and the breakfast was fairly minimal but adequate. Overall the hotel was fine, it just wasn't necessarily worth the cost in comparison to other guesthouses.

Every morning they managed to mess up the breakfast order even though each order was only 2 items... Not sure what went wrong then. Asked the staff for a few advices on bus tickets and it went nowhere. I don't know if they understood anything I was saying. Breakfast from 7 to 8.30 is a bit early too.

Noisy rooms and desinterested personal”
Outside fan made such a noise that it was not possible to sleep. Changed room during night to mini room without daylight (window to dark duct) and blind window door to floor, so thin and noisy too, but able to sleep at least. Personal having breakfast with guests during breakfast time while tables are dirty and full of used dishes. Quality of breakfast poor. No place to relax with a minimum appreciation of guest service.
