Its owner is a friendly old lady, but speaks only very limited English, so very hard to communicate. With that price you can easily find a much better hotel close by. The room is in transnational Japanese style with tatami mattress. Very quiet place. Bathroom is shared. Not a problem in low season though.
Cosy room with nice host
Very nice staff”
Very impression with the staff.
Excellent Japanese Ryokan. Very near to Hakodate station. Feel like home. The person in charge the Ryokan is very friendly although she don't speak English.
The host is very nice. Free soba for us as new year's eve. Nice Japanese style room but with shared bath and toilet. Overall, I enjoyed staying here very much!
Happy Stay at Hakodate Henmi”
I thoroughly recommend this hotel for your stay in Hakodate. It is close to transport, the markets and some fabulous restaurants. While close to the action it is in a quiet street and is very clean and comfortable.
only stayed one night. lady of the ryokan was very helpful and friendly. excellent location to JR and morning market
Good staff , very friendly Breakfast not included ??? No Bathroom , must share toilet 10 PM curfew, must shower before that No sink in room Very comfortable room
Cute staff come with great service .I fall in love with a people in this city .the location is great bec it not far from jr hakadate close to tram station and it near the morning market.room is a traditional japanese tatami style it is nice and cute .
Best host ever.”
We arrived at nine something at night, it's already late considering it was a suburban area. A friendly lady greeted us even we were late for the check in time, she even worried if we have had dinner yet and prepared hand made sovouniers for us. we felt like we were at home while staying here. The bedroom was comfortable with everything you need. We have to share bathroom but it's totally clean and welly maintained. The breakfast was traditional Japanese style and it taste great! The location is excellent, takes less than five minutes by feet to the JR station and the famous seafood market. Definitely would stay in here again!
Good service and Location”
I'm really appreciated with this hotel service,Clean and good location , Not far from Hakodate Station. Nice authentic Japanese breakfast.
Good location, affordable ryokan”
I don't think I can experience a ryokan at such a price at such a location.
we had a great time there, but first was very hard to find, but once we got there and found out its actually really easy and very close to the central Jr station. We rented a car too and we parked at the hotel garage. very nice stay as we were the only guests there for the time. but price was way too expensive compared to the others but we booked very late so we had not much choices.
Comfortable and affordable stay”
Positives: less than 5 mins walking distance to JR Hakodate Station, extremely polite and helpful staff, comfortable and relatively spacious Japanese-style room Negatives: unable to use wifi connection, breakfast not provided, staff not comfortable with the use of English, toilet and bathroom located outside your room, no aircon (but cool weather in Hakodate anyway)
Comfortable and enjoyable”
My stay was very enjoyable, and the Japanese owner was very friendly and hospitable.
Two day Hakodate Excursion”
I had an excellent experience
Cosy, friendly, convenient”
The ryokan was conveniently located near the JR Hakodate station and the tram stop Hakodate Ekimae. The owner was also very friendly, but it's a pity that she wasn't able to converse in much English. Free wifi was provided by a service in Hakodate, which is good. All in all, a cosy stay!
Very traditional room, friendly staff”
Friendly grandma who speaks nearly no Japanese but very kind and helpful. Teaches you some culture about Japanese and show you the way on paper. Had a good experience!
It was re-decorated by an old-fashion Japanese house. Most of partitions inside the hotel are wooden, so the sound proof is not really good. However, the hotel is not far by walking from the train station and some must-see place, like the place to see night view of Hakodate, which is about 3 stops away only by street car. Also, the staff are very kind. Even though they can't speak English, they would keep expressing in Japanese or gestures. If you wanna experience a Japanese style hotel, this is it. Many Japanese families also come to stay here. Reasonable price if compared with other hotels in Japan.
Good location in nice city, not far from morning market with fresh food especially uni, the ryankan style is ultimate experience in japan
