The rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and elegantly decorated. The hotel has less than thirty rooms, arranged according to the terrain, each surrounded by nature and peaceful surroundings. The private baths in the rooms offer a high level of privacy, and the amenities and minibars are of high quality. The hotel restaurant is located in a separate, century-old Japanese building, which adds to its unique charm. For food, we chose the three-night, two-meal plan, with each meal having a different and delicious menu. Although the hotel is far from the hustle and bustle, there are buses and convenience stores within a five-minute walk, making it easy to get to other attractions in Hakone. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to the nearest mountain station.

Fantastic Experience ”

The hotel is very modern and clean. Location near Hakone Open Air Museum. Staff were friendly and food was amazing. We only had breakfast but it was good. The guy served us breakfast spoke really well English as well as the girl who walked us to our room. I enjoyed everything when I stayed here. We checked out and left our luggage to go to the museum. When we came back, we were so out of breath from climbing up the hill to walk back. We went back to the hotel lobby and sat down to rest. Although we paid for the transportation for them to take us back to the nearest train station, we felt that the staff passive aggressive rushed us out towards the end. They weren’t as welcome as when we arrived. Other than that I like it here a lot.

Great place”

This Japanese ryokan provided a pristine environment with immaculate cleanliness throughout the premises. Moreover, the culinary offerings surpassed expectations, with exquisite Japanese cuisine served with meticulous attention to detail, leaving a lasting impression of culinary excellence. Overall, a highly recommended stay for those seeking both cleanliness and gastronomic delight in a traditional Japanese setting.

Luxury ryokan, first ryokan experience. Bad massage though. ”

Wasn’t sure what to expect since this was our first ryokan but we were blown away by the nice facilities and the professional staff who tailored the timing of everything so well (they had iPads and microphones they communicated with to let each other know when we were arrived at meal time and where to seat us, etc). We had a private onsen in our room with a water proof TV even! Not sure if I just happened to go during off times but I was able to enjoy the public onsen privately most of the time too (only one other guest). Plus they have a mini freezer ri got outside the public onsen with ice creams and popsicles as a bonus! The teppanyaki was amazing and worth the $110/person. The only critique I have is the massage I booked- having had only massages in the US, I didn’t realize they expect us to stay clothed and lay in our own room bed (so no face rest while laying on your front). This was all tolerable but then the masseuse they sent for me appeared to have exhertional/breathing issues (was short of breath just climbing the stairs), had a hand tremor and couldn’t provide the enough moderate pressure as requested and basically just used single finger point pressure. In short, he seemed past his prime and probably shouldn’t have been employed as a masseuse there. I was stunned. In short, I DONT recommend booking a massage there if you’re used to massages in the US as my experience with this was pretty disappointing. Otherwise the rest of my stay was phenomenal and i hence the still high rating I’m giving.

Absolutely amazing experience”

Best experience we ever had at a Ryokan. The staff provides almost a butler-like experience. Rooms are very clean and spacious
