Very fun, happy and clean! ”

The front desk staff are very friendly, happy and always help out when they can. Good breakfast in the morning which is paid for when you stay and even if you go down later out with their breakfast time they still feed you with no bother. The room, beds and bathroom were all very clean and had hot water! We booked a trip to Ha Long Bay through the hostel and they made it very easy. They also have good parking just outside the hostel. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

SUPPER FRIENDLY”

When i came there, the first impression was the name: Lisa. Everybody who stayed in this hostel would find Lisa when they need to help. I felt Lisa was a supperwoman. Her staff was as well. Friendly and helpful. Halong Happy Hostel is my second home. Love it !!!!!

Great hostel”

The hostel was perfect great sized rooms and helpful staff Ha Long City as a whole is quite boring, not much to do there and alot of the city is currently under construction including the 'beach' which is just a construction site

Good hostel but not really much to do in this part of town when i was there”

At the time that I was there, there wasnt really that much to do. I expected Ha Long to be full of the typical Ha Long Bay islands, but couldnt really see any. Anyway the hostel was good

True to its name, I was very happy staying here!! Staff were friendly, interacted well with the guests and the beer was cheap. Also there's a guitar in the lobby which was pretty dope and brought us all together to sing happy hymns together.

Friendly staff good location.”

I was surprised by the friendliness of the place. The manager/owner speaks English fluently, the rest of family maybe no, but you can arrange anything anyway. My room was clean and with AC (working well). Good location and been able to rent a motorbike for a bargain price.

Short and Simple”

Wasn't really a hotel, more like a motel. Room was poorly maintained and dusty. It comes with an Aircon though. This place Bai Chay is littered with hotels and they are mostly empty hence you have the bargaining power as other hotels would want you. This hotel might be the cheapest, but you can get cheaper, room condition and comfort. After a long trip around Vietnam, it is worth to Sleep well in a comfortable room for just 1 or 2 nights. Don't bother to book in advance, just walk along the street and you might find a hotel you like, there are dozens of hotel there, all empty. The only plus about this hotel is that it makes authentic strong coffee for just under a dollar.

Good experience ”

We are the only people in our dorm room of 6 so that may have made a big difference. But the place was clean and neat, wifi was fast and the staff polite. Lisa was a great host and she gave us a number of tips to get around to Cat ba and Hai Phuong. Breakfast was basic. Watched a game of Euro 2016 with the staff on a large flatscreen in the lounge.

Great location for value ”

The staff was friendly and was able to answer our questions. The room was bigger than we expected which was nice! Good place to stay for one or two days.

Room smelt a little stale however it was large. Stay was fine and was good for one night. Breakfast had a large selection too which was included.

Hard beds and pee smell. ”

The staff were so friendly, and downstairs was cute with beanbags and books, so I really wanted to like this place. Our room smelled like stale urine, and the beds were no better than sleeping on the ground. The air conditioner was also in a very sad state and it was always hot in our room. We had a private room on the second floor, and I really can't speak for the state of the rest of the rooms--hopefully they are better!

Staff had an attitude toward me and I did not know why. The stairway was so dark. The bathroom smelled bad. I and my friends left the hostel after checking in.

Exceptional”

ロープウェイの発着地、テーマパークに歩いて行け、バス停が近かったので観光やショッピングに便利でした。 建物はかなり古いが周りのゲストハウスも同じ様な感じでした。 部屋は広く掃除はキチンとされていたので快適に過ごすことができました。また、夕方になるとビールを頼むと1本が無料になりました。 泊まり客は全員欧米人でしたが、若いスタッフが日本語が話せきちんとお世話をしてくださいました。本当にありがとうございました。 今回わかったことがあります。市場周辺レストラン、ビアホールでえぐい程ぼったくる店がありました。食事するときはスタッフに紹介したもらった方がいいかも。
