We splurged on this cruise for 2 days and 1 night around Ha Long Bay. The Victory Star boat was clean, modern, and spacious- like a hotel on the water. The staff were all very professional and friendly. If you can, go for a suite because they come with a large washroom with a jetted tub and a glass enclosure shower with views of the bay. This was the highlight of our trip around Asia.

Pricey, but nice rooms with small balcony; Recommendable”
Had a twin-room on Victory Star Cruise and a small balcony, fitting 2 chairs. Booked the 2D1N trip. Return Transport via 7 seater van from Hanoi to Halong Bay was not included and charged at USD30 per pax. Day 1: -Pick up from Hanoi at 8am. Drive to Halong Bay 4 hours with one stop -waited at arrival point for the boat and guests -boarding at 12:30pmish. Lunch quite late at 1:30pm-2pm only -visited floating houses with option of Kayaking. Day2 Breakfast and check-out at 10.40am POSITIVE - seems like all rooms on Victory Star Cruise have their own small balconies. Perfect to hang out before dinner. - staff was friendly -sundeck with parasols available NEGATIVE - if you let the cruise arrange for your Kayak, you pay USD20 for the Kayak directly to the cruise at check-out. However, if you pay on the spot at the floating platform, it’ll only cost you VND100,000. So managed to save here -all drinks not included. Not even water during meals.

Amazing ”
Probably one of our highlights of our trip. Beautiful boat, good rooms with private deck which was so nice. Amazing views, just wish we had more time and spent longer as we only did 1 night. The floating village is amazing to see and be rowed around by a local. All pricing on board is in American dollars and they add 15% on top. I highly recommend victory star and it was definetly one of the best looking boats we saw especially as some don't even have decks.

New Year's Eve”
What an amazing way to bring in the new decade! We spent a wonderful evening on the Victory Star. The staff made huge efforts for the new year, and we got to celebrate and party with them on the stroke of midnight. This was a truely memorable experience.

Fantastic cruise ship with kids play area”
We were picked up by their shuttle bus about 45min later than schedule. I was quite upset coz we were on time at lobby with 3 young children, not even a call. However this cruise is suitable who has young children as it has play area that kids can jump around. And staffs especially assistant manager and tour guide Linda were very helpful. Thank you for birthday cake for my daughter! Kids loved the cruise, and want to come back again. I definitely recommend to my friends.

Not as good as we expected”
After seeing pictures of the Victory Star we had to book it, only to find upon embarkation it had had a very poor white paint job that really spoilt its look. We were quite disappointed. We booked 3 days and 2 nights, of which we spent the full second day on a day boat, as the Victory Star goes back to port to drop off and pick up 1 night stays. We therefore could not enjoy fully the more expensive boat we had booked. Drinks on board are very expensive. A bottle of wine costing and a can of coke or beer 3. There is a fridge in your room so you can take drinks on and keep them cool. Rooms are very small with limited storage but that is what we expected. Beds are the hardest we ever slept on.

Spent one night in suite 2 of Victory Star, from 1pm to 11am the day after. Although the schedule is quite tight with lunch, fishing village visit in afternoon, dinner and cave visit early morning before last lunch, enjoyed the stay as the suite is very comfortable and organization/availability of the crew is excellent

Comfortable Cabins nice decor”
nice weather with amazing views, a little cool as we were there in january so didn't do any swimming, the water colour was so clean and crisp looking. definitely worth the cruise. the floating fishing villages with floating schools were amazing. showers on board are crap pressure and hot water will last about 4 minutes.

Not worth the money”
Van picked us up on time from our hotel. We arrived to the port on time but after arriving, were forced to wait 2 hours(!) before we could board the boat. We started our tour more than 2 hours behind schedule and when we asked our tour guide we got a lot of excuses and a half-hearted apology. Room on the boat was so-so. Bathroom door was broken and didn't close properly. No internet on the boat. Food was good. Staff on the boat was polite. Weren't able to travel to the beach, as listed on the itinerary (probably because we started late), or actually we had to choose between Kayaking and going to the beach.. because we were behind schedule. Overall, I'd say this tour was way too expensive for the price. Even the shuttle bus to and from Halong Bay wasn't included in the price ($90 dollars extra for our group) I recommend shopping around for a better deal.
