Where to stay in Hang Dong
Hang Dong hotels & accommodations

We had a short 3 days, 2 nights stay at this hotel. Its worth every penny based on rates on Agoda. The hotel is just like their website and the staff are all very friendly. Based on the rate we booked on Agoda, the staff told us at check in that the breakfast on the last day won't be included and we had to pay extra (it whould have been annoying if we needed the bre...

They say there's no place like home, but they don't say there's a place known as Home away from Home. In regards to my stay there at the Flora Creek Hotel Apartments, it's definately like home away from home. I had a wonderful time and stay during my visit to Dubai and after being out, it was great to know that you'll be returning to a comfortable and relaxing place. I...

I visit Chiang Mai almost every year, this is the first time we stayed at this gem of a place as we wanted a more quiet and peaceful location. The hotel is situated on a beautiful landscape. From the moment you enter, you realize that everything inside and outside the hotel is of the utmost quality. The rooms are modern and in pristine condition. The staff is highly tr...

I booked 2 suits at chantra khiri. One room for my wife, 2 kids and myself. The other room for my parents. We stayed for 3 nights during Christmas holidays. The room is very spacious and the quality of the equipments used inside the room are superb. Breakfast was great we didn't get bored after 3 meals. A bit far away from the main road but if you are looking for your relax, kind of escape form the reality you may come to stay here. All the staff is the best, I can felt they work with their hearts. Everyone will help you everything from the entrance. Room was just perfect, I stayed alone in a suit room. Food (Dinner) was great as same as the 5 stars hotel. Breakfast i...

the property is gorgeous… organic gardens throughout, a duck pond, villas scattered around the property, all surrounded by trees, greenery, peace and quiet. there are garden villas and pool villas, a resort pool, bikes to roam around on, free wifi and a beautiful spa. one of the most spectacular things about narittaya is the food. much of what is served comes from t...

This is our last Hotel Chiang Mai travel, we go out a hotel tourism has favorite. Although the more remote location away from the Chiang Mai (from the center of the city taxi about 700 baht), but definitely worth to stay. The environment is very quiet, the hotel is only 7 rooms, all built close to the mountains of the independent house, the rooms are very spacious and ...

The place is nice and really peaceful, perfect for relaxation. The best points are that it has the best internet connection, and hot water system compared to any 5-star hotels that I’ve been to. The only drawbacks are that breakfast needs some improvement in terms of taste and variety and I found a few ants ( the type that don’t bite) in the bathroom.

First of all. This is our first time in Chiang mai and we rented a car through out the whole journey. First stop from Chiang mai airport to hill borough took 1.5 hours. It’s located up on the hill with a lot of turns needed to reach up. From the bottom of the place to the hotel takes 20-30 mins. At night driving need to be careful as there are a lot of stray dogs and t...

Pleasant stay in a deluxe room which is separate from the main building. Nice natural ambiance. Great helpful staff. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Only grief was that you have to lug your bags up a narrow staircase to your room. The TV reception was bad. Separate bathroom and toilet. Cons. No place to put or hang your clothes in the bathroom with only a narrow tow...

We loved staying at Phutarntree. The staff were so friendly and kind. They loved spending time with our 4-month-old daughter and even walked around with her so my wife and I could eat a bit of dinner alone. We felt like they welcomed us as family. And then of course the hotel itself is AMAZING, hearing running waterfalls from your room, eating strawberries grown right ...

we enjoyed staying there so much! it was the best place to just chill and relax. we were so happy to have a kitchen that we could use to cook for ourselves. since there were fruits and eggs all the time, we did not even have to buy a lot of things. the pool was nice, clean and cold. they have a lot of animals but it felt like doing some kind farm holiday. if you want t...

I was somehow reluctant to go to the place because it's a big hotel and we wanted something quiet and smaller for the Songkran weekend. But it was a last minute booking so we had no choices left. Fortunately the place was much better than expected. The room was big and isolated well from the bathroom. Teakwood furniture was nice and convenient (though I had a prob...

Owner/host and wife was very nice, patient, informative, considerate, warm and friendly. Explained to us on places to visit in chiangmai. Made us feel welcome, free pick up shuttle from airport. Recommended and brought us on private tour around chiangmai and chiangrai with economical rates. Room was nice and clean bedsheets. Place for improvement: Laundry service need...

The hotel was better than I expected. Really nice grounds and plenty of outdoor places to relax. Rooms were new and clean. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked great. Wifi was also quite reliable during my stay. The location was up the mountain road a bit so the weather was a touch cooler. Lots of trees and nature around the hotel.

If you're looking for a nice quiet place away from town this is it. I gave the location 4 stars because it was about 30 minutes from Chiang Mai but the scenery that surrounded us was amazing! And nights were peaceful. My youngest loved going on Nature walks to hunt bugs and collect flowers. Also, this place had the best staff I have ever encountered. They were always s...

I stayed at Baan Tawai Lanna Resort with two other friends. We selected this location because we were visiting friends in the Hang Dong area. The rooms are comfortable and large in size. The staff were so friendly and accommodating especially asking us what we wanted to eat for breakfast the next day. You will not go hungry as they provide a variety of food for breakfa...

We enjoyed our stay at Little Village Chiang Mai. Travellors should note that Little village is quite some distance from Chiang Mai - the cost of a taxi is 400 - 500 BHT each way. there is a smaller toen named Hang Dong about 10 minutes taxi drive or 25 minutes bike ride away. If you are looking to relax in a quiet environment and do not want to much sight-seeing in ...

Beautiful resort grounds but the service here is terrible. It’s so terrible that we decide to check out earlier. When we made a booking, we requested a quiet room at a corner so we will not be disturbed by loud smoking mainland China tourists. No one confirmed the request and the staff just placed our room sandwiched with Chinese tourists next to our room. Reception st...

Commenting little late but I think I MUST do to give full credit to this hotel. A small resort with 5-5 rooms out of which we booked 3 rooms so it was almost like we were the only one staying. In middle of mountains, views are not so great but it is within the woods so you staying in forest. Best part is their food. Awesome taste, great breakfast, vegetable are so fre...

The property was perfect- just what I had in mind for a few days of R&R. Quiet, calm, serene; spacious room with a lounge room and a very spacious bathroom. The best part of the stay was the service provided by the staff, especially Mr Sawai - very kind and accommodating to say the least. Two drawbacks - its far away from downtown Chiang Mai (approx 15kms) and has no...

Just nice place for people wanna stay in chill part of chiang mai. Calm and serene environment. Take note reception hours aren't avail after 8 or 9pm. Would be better if the desk staff could speak and help us through a little more english. Slightly off city limit but worth staying here.

We book this place because we are living in a city and I really would like ny kids to feel how farm life are like.. When we reach here very late, but the staff is really considerateas he told us to get rest in the little hut first and check in tomorrow morning. Early morning we were greeted by the super friendly owners. Its not really that run down as some of the revi...

I just returned from a 3 week stay during low season at this hotel. I was the only guess at that time so my stay was quite peaceful. The photos are very accurate of this hotels property and rooms, so I didn't feel a need to add photos with my review. The grounds, rooms, and pool were very well maintained by the staff. My room was very clean and spacious upon arrival...

The room we got with the balcony was really well decorated. The location was peaceful and in the middle of lushness and you can enjoy the buffaloes and elephants that are always hanging out there. But then getting there without renting your own car would be a pain. There is no staff around if you need anything (but you might not need much. The place is well prepared) T...

Chiang Mai Corner Spa Resort is a fantastic oasis in Hang Dong. May wife and I discovered it on a date night bicycle ride. I don't mean to sound superfluous, but having stayed in many hotels across Thailand, this is ou...

I was there with my family for four nights and the experience was beyond expectation. The resort is a bit of far away from downtown in Chiangmai (in Hang Dong area), but it was easy to book a taxi or a tuk yuk car for 300 thai baht for 7 of us. The staff at the hotel are really pleasant and attentive. The last day of our stay, the flight was quite early at 9am, so we b...

This is a very nice little boutique style hotel about 15 minutes from the city. The rooms were huge with a seperate bedroom, lounge and kitchenette. The pool was very nice and the layout of the hotel is very green and the gardens are well kept. The staff were always very helpful and tried hard to provide a good service. An absolutely excellent stay and very welcoming hosts Barry and nuy excellent rooms and food outstanding lovely trips and tours booked with them and at very reasonable prices a pleasure to stay here with my wife western and Thai foods catered for with modern furnished rooms a must stay whilst in Chiang Mai you will not be disappointed.

I can’t recommend Happy House highly enough. The rooms are so wonderfully clean and well-appointed and there are nice little touches such as a kettle, water, mugs, coffee and even local biscuits, which you don’t expect from this sort of budget accommodation. The hostess is so very warm and friendly, she speaks good English and could not do enough to make my stay as c...

this is a beautiful resort, with gorgeous gardens and an inviting pool. the hotel room is actually a suite, with a king bed, sitting area, dining area, and full size refrigerator. the bathroom is not up to the standard of the rest. breakfast is very good and the staff are anxious to please. the resort is located in the extensive woodworking and handicraft villa...

I stayed here for 3 weeks, and as it still has buildings under construction, the price was good. The rooms are beautiful, one-bedroom suites with balconies. This resort is off of the mountain road on the south west side of Chiang Mai. You wind back a gravel road to a quiet resort. The owner is very nice and is ready to help. I have been to many countries and stayed in many hotels, I alway book 4 or 5 star hotels, but nothing has ever compared to this. More about Hang Dong
Highway 108 leads southwest out of Chiang Mai city center on the way to Hang Dong. A few resorts in Hang Dong are found right along the highway, offering a blend of contemporary service and amenities in a rustic, Lanna-style atmosphere. It takes roughly 20 minutes to connect to the city centre from here, and as there are no public buses, guests of these hotels have to call a taxi or drive a rental car in order to explore Chiang Mai’s old town.
For tourists, the major attraction in Hang Dong is Ban Tawai, a handicrafts and wood-carving village near Hang Dong market. This is one of the most convenient places to buy teak carvings and other handicrafts directly from the artisans who made them.
Immediately west of Hang Dong town proper is the southern extension of Suthep Mountain. A single sealed road winds across the hillside, leading to secluded resorts in the backcountry. This is some of the most sought-after accommodation in Hang Dong. As the area is relatively remote, local resorts are fully equipped with restaurants and entertainment facilities. Nearby botanical gardens and scenic walks make for a day or two’s worth of activities.
