Busy, central location in old town with great family room”

This hotel has some great features but the best is the location - if you want to be in the thick of the old quarter. Street converts to walking street at night. Very close to the night market. Other features include interconnecting family room (we have three older children) with spacious bathroom (incl. bath). Rooftop sundeck is pleasant for relaxing with a drink. Pool is located in the centre of the hotel but it’s not great - if your focus is a pool maybe look to another hotel. The front desk staff generally spoke adequate English and were always keen to please. Laundry by the kilo (AUD$3/kg) was good value and returned same day. Included breakfast was okay but nothing standout. The on site spa was not used by us except for mani/pedi and both offered good result. There was no “experience“ as such (uncomfortable chair next to the pool) but for AUD$5 for a basic mani and polish and AUD$7 for a French polish what can you expect? The manicurists had good skills. As noted, we didn’t use the other spa services. The hotel has a lift, hairdryers, complimentary biscuits, free wifi and Netflix (own account needed). Exchange rate was good and a simple transaction. Reception arranged cheap airport transfer (AUD$18). The beds were very firm but we slept well. Noise can be an issue particularly on Friday nights (Opera nightclub across the road) and I found earplugs helpful. Enjoy your stay at Hanoi Nostalgia. They are ready to please!

Calm Oasis in the Bustling Old Quarter”

This is a lovely new hotel and spa. We stumbled upon it after an aweful experience with another Hanoi Hotel and Hanoi Nostalgia welcomed us with open arms! The room was impeccable and surprisingly quiet considering how noisy the Old Quarter is. The reception staff was helpful and very accommodating, they even stored our luggage while we went on a three day cruise on Ha Long Bay free of charge. Breakfast was delicious and had a variety of Vietnamese options as well as western options. The spa was relaxing and rejuvenating and the women who worked there were delightful! Overall, an awesome experience... We highly recommend it!

Exceptional service in the heart of Hanoi”

We spent nights at Hanoi Nostalgia hotel and found it to be a terrific base for exploring the streets of the old town. The rooms were very clean and well appointed (mattresses were typically very firm). We had adjoining rooms at the front of the hotel, where we enjoyed lovely views from the balcony during the day and in the evening. These rooms were very noisy from about 10.30pm until the wee hours of the morning, when a nearby bar pumped up the music. Staff made us aware of this and frequently checked to see if we were happy to remain in these rooms, as quieter rooms are available at the rear of the hotel. We opted to stay at the front. If you do select front rooms, consider earplugs. The breakfast buffet was great. Eggs cooked to order and a range of western and Asian dishes available as well as fruit, tea and coffee. Our kids loved it! Now on the the staff. They were LOVELY. Every time we came in or out we were greeted by the most delightful people who genuinely seemed to care about us having a good time. They were knowledgable about the area and offered suggestions about places to eat and visit. They loved our kids and happily chatted with them multiple times a day. We asked the customer care staff to assist us with booking two flights, this was managed quickly and efficiently. Tam in particular was so very attentive to our needs and was so friendly and helpful. Our kids cried when we had to leave (Tam did too!). If you are looking to stay in the heart of Hanoi I would recommend this place.

Great hotel in a fabulous location”

The Hanoi Nostalgia Hotel and Spa is in a fabulous location in the Old Quater. It's in the middle of an area with a huge number of bars and shops. On a weekend the streets are closed to traffic and the atmosphere on Sunday evening in the square by the lake was brialliant. We used their excursion booking service to organise a day trip to Ha Long Bay which was fantastic. The room was clean and the roof top terrace was a nice place to sit with a drink after coming back in the evening or catch some sun before going out. Breakfast was good, with a choice that varied each day and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used their airport pick up service which worked well and saved the issue of not knowing where we were going! Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we got the chance.

Great little hotel in the heart of historic old quarter”

This hotel has all the conveniences of a short stay in Hanoi old quarter. Only a 10 min leisurely stroll to the lake, and a myriad of amazing food restaurants and little shops all within a short stroll. Only downside is the very noisy Opera club across the road from the hotel which has its music blaring until 2am, but the hotel staff are completely aware of this, and if you’re a light sleeper will do everything they can to change your room to the more quieter part of the building. A great stay, and I will strongly recommend Hanoi Nostalgia for a short visit to this amazing city.

Best staff in Asia!”

We spent 4 nights in Nostalgia hotel with my family. Truly wonderful staff, all of them speak a very good English, they helped us with all our enquiries, showed us the best cheap restaurants, ordered the cheapest taxies, asked us if we needed any help every time we passed by the reception. We have never seen such an attitude elsewhere. The breakfast was great. The hotel is situated in the heart of the old city, lot’s of good places to eat and to have a drink. Parties are everywhere at night. The shopping area is all around and It’s only a few Minutes walk to the lake. The room was very clean. The only slightly negative moment was the smell of the mold in the room as it happens quite often in Asia because of the moist in the air conditioning system. The swimming pool was clean and cool(not heated). We will come back to this hotel on our way back to Hanoi. Really nice experience!

Overall I enjoyed my time at Hanoi Nostalgia Hotel & Spa. I was told that the room I had booked would be noisy due to the night club opposite the road. She showed me 2 other rooms and I ebded up paying $15 extra for the suite. The suite overlooked the pool and had a lovely large bathroom. Breakfast was a buffet, nothing amazing but good.

Hanoi Nostalgia is just inside the 36 streets, and all the attractions are within walking distance. Many bars, resteraunts, coffees, stoes, and spas are around the hotel. It's very crowded and vibrant in the night, and a famous club is just opposite to the hotel. The street will be closed for pedestrians only on the Friday night.

Super friendly”

We were two middle-aged men from Norway in Hanoi for sightseeing. Perfect location in the Old Town with at lot of inside and outside dining options nearby. The spacious rooms facing the courtyard/swimming pool were super quiet, and the rooms facing the street were more lively. The spa facilities were under construction (primo November 2017) but we are sure that the work will be finished very soon (the swimming pool was ready to use). The hotel staff was one of the most friendly ones we have ever experienced. We left behind some chargers and camera batteries when we checked out but following a quick phone call to Tam in the reception the equipment was shipped to Norway. We will definetely use this hotel next time we are in Hanoi.

Hotel at Old Quarter”

The hotel is in old quarter. Very happening street. A lot of stall to drink beer at night. Walking distance to alot of attractions such as the morning market, night market. The hotel staff are helpful. Breakfast is ok. It is buffet style. This has nothing to do with the hotel but just for other travellers to take note of. PLEASE DON'T EVER TAKE TAXI in Hanoi!!! They ripped you off. We are being ripped off by taxi. A single journey cost around VND33,000 by Grab but the taxi charged us VND610,000. We were shocked! Please download grab and take grab only when you are there. Some grab driver is pretty rude but they didnot rip us off. The taxi driver was overly friendly but cheated us. When we refused to pay, the taxi driver throws away his fake facade and threathen us.

What the f? This place is spicy AF”

Great hotel bang in the muddle of the old quarter, had a room with a balcony and sat outside most of the night smoking cigarettes and watching Hanoi, what an amazing place! From a high five from the bellboy to the spa and swimming pool on the first floor this place was great, and for the cost of a cheap motel in Europe it’s amazing the value you get for your $$$. Will for sure be back here when I come back to Vietnam!

Helpful staff”

If you are a young traveler this would be an excellent location as it is near beer street and some amazing value for money restaurants. The tasty meals and drinks including fresh juices and lassi were cheaper than we could have made ourselves at home, and there were some great alcoholic beverages as well. The old Quarter was an area teeming with backpackers but still had young viets abounding. there were also older folk enjoying the energy of the place. Near the Nostalgia a vibrant street life was happening but it didn't go on until too late. The desk staff were very helpful with good english with other language skills apparent. We had a couple of hiccups due to our own errors during our stay but they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The wait staff and housekeepers obliged any requests (such as laundry orders) in a timely manner and the breakfasts were well catered. All in all they looked after us well and were quite friendly whilst doing it. A happy stay.

New hotel ready to impress”

Found this hotel on Agoda. Looking for something in Old Quarter within a price range. Saw this new hotel that had a few 5 star ratings. Emails back and forth were prompt after booking regarding airport transfer. We were greeted warmly by the staff upon arrival. We were a few hours early and did not request early check in. They accommodated us very well, which was appreciated after traveling from the US. They explained that they were a newer hotel and would love feedback on which to improve. They also warned us that is gets noisy at night with a balcony room. There’s a club across the street so between 10:30pm and 2am you can hear the music and DJ. Breakfast was a treat. We were served traditional Vietnamese food (noodle soup, & stir fried noodles) as well as western food (omelets, bacon, hotdogs) fruit and Vietnamese coffee. Was well prepared!! We liked this place so much we canceled another reservation and booked another night after our cruise in Halong Bay. Would recommend!!

Recommend to stay - Good Service and Food (but with some caveats)”

We stayed in Hanoi Nostalgia Hotel & Spa for 6 days. Overall, the service was good; the staff is very responsive to our needs. We had an emergency but they were able to assist us with what we need (plus points), although it was unfortunate to experience flooding in our room due to the ongoing repairs at the rooftop. Nevertheless, the room is comfortable and spacious enough (we booked a family connecting room). Food was also good. Just note that when booking, do request for a QUIET room because Lương Ngọc Quyến St. can be very noisy 8pm onwards (there's a bar right in front of the hotel and lots of drinking bars when passing along). The street is also closed on weekends due to the night market so if you have pick-ups during the evening then you may have to walk to the nearest street accessible to vehicles.

Right in the heart of it”

The property is located in the heart of the old town. Walk outside and you land right in the thick of it. Wile the old quarter is lazy during the day it bursts into a hustle bustle at night. The beds and rooms at Nostalgia were fine. The breakfast was a bit monotonous but still good. The pool was quasi indoors and the kids made a fair bit of noise that echoed throughout. Overall I recommend for the location and quality of sleep.

Great if you want to be close to the action”

This place is great if you want to be close to the action in the Old Quarter, but you are IN the action. The area is very vibrant and busy, so if you’re up for fun then this place is perfectly situated. It’s very close to lots of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was so-so, and the pool is a bit small but not a big deal if you’re planning on spending most of time in Hanoi partying/sightseeing.

Good location in the old quarter”

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. In particular the manager who constantly assisted and advised when asked a question. They also arranged a taxi for me to the airport free of charge which was nice. I would recommend using their pick up service as it will save you money with the rip off taxi men in Hanoi. The pool isn’t great to be honest but I wasn’t there to hang round a pool (it’s actually indoors) and breakfast was just ok. I stayed in a nice big room which didn’t face the street so no issues at all with noise. The club opposite the road that other reviewers complained about was actually closed for renovations (complete rebuild as it was a shell) so there was no noise there at all. It’s a 2min walk from the small bars and plenty to eat in the area. When I return to Hanoi I’ll stay here again. I also booked an overnight trip to Halong bay in the hotel and the owner saved me a lot of money compared to booking online (tripadvisor, bookings.com etc) he booked me into a 5star cruise which was exactly as he described and as shown in his brochures.
