Interesting cultural experience. If you are an older traveler, you might not be comfortable sleeping on the floor or putting on socks without a chair. Uní was very friendly and helpful. Fun neighborhoods to explore nearby.

        A great hanok experience ”

Friendly owner, cute and nicely furnished hanok, in the heart of Bukchon village

Firstly, one has to manage his/her own expectations about living in a hanok. Don't expect huge bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. This is afterall a traditional house that is preserved from decades past. The rooms are decent-sized. Toilets are clean. There is a very good feeling about this cute little hanok. It's located next to the Changmuro High School (filming location of Winter Sonata) and is a stome's throw from the Bukchon Village walking trail. We loved the vibes of the location, think laidback residential area dotted with quaint little shops and Western-style vintage cafes.

Good Traditional Stay if you want to experience Korea! ”

Very nice and traditional hanok to live in if you want to experience traditional way of living in Korea, be mindful though if you are not used to sleeping on tatami. Uni, who is the housekeeper of this place is very friendly and well versed in English! She's flexible to allow us to store our baggage as our flights arrive early morning and leave midnight. As it's summer, the initial walk up to the guesthouse from the nearest subway station (Anguk) felt very far and hot but it will not take more than 15mins even though you're a slow walker. There are shops for you to sight see along the way as you walk up the hill to reach the place so it's pretty nice! The guesthouse is strategically located near the palace and bukchon village, and famous places e.g. myeongdong, gwangjang market, main palace etc are just a few subway stations away. Very convenient. If you are travelling over during summer, lookout for minor bugs in the room but it is normal and expected...

If you prefer a quiet and cultural part of Seoul, this is a good place to stay. The only ‘con’ would be the hilly area which is not very friendly to huge and heavy luggage. Other than that, this is a wonderful accommodation.

the house location is bit far about 15 minutes walk from Angguk station exit 3 or the airport limousine but the street is not hilly so is not a problem if you bring luggage. There are only few steps from the main gate to the enter the house.

        Feel the traditional hanok”

Owner was very accommodating. We arrived very late that day for check in due to bus technical issue but yet the owner still come over to greet us in a cold winter night. Ms. Uni speaks very well English and gave us good insight on where and how to visit the nearby attractions. You can also make your own breakfast with the ingredients provided! Location is up the hill and quite a walk so it might not be pleasant if you're carrying a big luggage bag. But overall, the stay was good!

it's a bit small and out of the main street so may be a bit hard to find. basic facilities only as well. Uni was very friendly and helpful though you may need to make an international call to get her if she is not at the hanok.

        hanok experience was great”

ms uni was very welcoming and accommodating. she even taught us how to go around the area. aside from the host, something unique about our hanok experience was that we get to make our own breakfast (bread, eggs, spread, kitchen, utensils were provided). we also had our own tiny bathroom inside our hanok. it was small but convinient for us if we need to use the restroom in the evening (though we always had the option to use the bigger bathroom outside our room). the environment was nice and the bus stop to anguk station was just a few steps away. but i have to say, it was a bit hard to find the hanok at first.

Service of the guesthouse owner, Location of the guesthouse, affordable price

Service: Uni, the owner of guesthouse tried her very best to accommodate any request from us; and always provides prompt response and solutions Location: Though it may take around 10mins walk from Metro station, the convenience of the district (as the center of Seoul) would attract me to choose this place again. And there are lots of nice shops and restaurants around.

        Staff, quiet place, location

My booking got mixed up and Uni was very apologetic; was even glad that we accepted her offer of fried chicken delivery. I booked a night at 202 but stayed at 201 which is much walkable from the Anguk Station. It was fun staying at this hanok; with ondol during the chilly and rainy night - we got to experience the Korean heating system.

sweet atmosphere, nice people, lovely experience

I stayed at Guesthouse202 just for one night, but i should have stayed at least for 2 nights. There are many touristic attractions such as beautiful small roads, palaces, famous streets with many craft shops and cafe. It was very good to take a walk in the morning enjoying cool morning air along the long palace walls. It might be little troublesoom for senior travelers or ones with big luggage, but for us, it was really pleasant walk from the subway station to the guesthouse. I want to visit again next time.

Small room, clean and unique stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay in Hanok Guesthouse 202. It is quite far from Seoul Metro Anguk Station, walking distance likely 15 min. However, you definitely enjoy the slow pace of life here . Quiet atmosphere. It is safe to walk back to guesthouse even in the midnight. Ms Uni is a nice and friendly person, she is willing to help. I am happy to spend 2 nights here to experience the hanok house.

Friendly and helpful owner, pretty and convenient location, traditional architecture

We definitely recommend this guesthouse. Uni, our landlady, was very warm, friendly and helpful in providing us with advice and suggestions on travelling around Seoul. The Hanok was really beautiful and cosy as well as clean and comfortable. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided. The fridge was stocked with eggs, bread, juice, butter, coffee, etc. and we could make our own breakfast in the kitchen. In terms of location, it was walking distance to Bukchon, the traditional quarter of Seoul, as well as the train station. The walk was really pleasant as there were several independent, quirky artisan and coffee shops along the way.

        Atmosphere, Location, Authenticity

My friend and I stayed one night in this guesthouse. Although a tad difficult to find, we enjoyed our stay and the owner was very friendly. The downside was staying next to the kitchen with the light on all night and people eating breakfast early in the morning. Would recommend for a one night stay.

        Fantastic Hanok Experience”

        Location, Ambience, Room.

We only stayed here for one night to experience a Hanok stay. Wow, Hanok Guesthouse 202 was a great choice. The location is in SamcheongDong, an old area which is a good cross between residential and mod cons. The streets are quiet enough by day and especially by night to roam past old buildings. Yet walk 5 minutes from the Hanok and there is an array of Cafes and restaurants to choose from. Hanok 202 is compact, room was beautifully decorated, kitchen to use and free breakfast to help yourself to. As budget travelers slightly out of our price range to stay here longer, for most people it's a steal compared to other Hanoks stays. Very peaceful location which ended up being our favorite part of Seoul.

1.rooms are very clean and cozy 2. the staff are very kind and friendly 3. the neighborhood where the guesthouse is located is fascinating.

It's very lucky of me to get a chance to stay in guesthouse 202. It was a wonderful experience for me. I met a lot of new friends from all over the world. Guesthouse 202 is the perfect choice if you are looking for a quiet and home-like place to stay. Since the guesthouse is constructed in traditional Korean style, it can provide you with a very different experience which can't be otherwise provided by western-style hotels. The staff at the guesthouse are very warm-hearted. They try to provide you with the best service possible and actually make you feel at home. I spent 9 days at the guesthouse and made wonderful memories. If I ever get the chance to visit Seoul again, I'll definitely choose guesthouse 202 as my place to stay.

        An experience”

This accommodation is very clean and nice. Uni, the host, is also very friendly and accommodating. ”

Very peaceful location which ended up being our favorite part of Seoul.

a wonderful stay at guesthouse 202”
