Perfect location for a relaxing vacation”
We stayed at the Hansar Samui for the second half of our Koh Samui vacation in early March 2012. We loved everything about our stay. In fact, the worst part was the fact that we didn't get chocolates at turn-down one night and that we received a letter addressed to "Mr. and Mr." instead of "Mr. and Mrs." Essentially, our stay was perfect. Bo Phut was a great place and the Hansar has the perfect location, a very short walk along cobblestones to the heart of Fisherman's Village, which has great restaurants, cute boutiques, and a variety of other shops. One thing to note, however, is that the beach is not the best. We spent the first half of our vacation in Chaweng, which had very soft sand and perfectly clear water. The water in Bo Phut is not as clear (although it is deeper) and the sand is very coarse. Breakfast was nice, with a large variety of food on the buffet as well as made-to-order western and Thai fare. We ate at H Bistro one night, with high expectations, and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and well worth the splurge. We also enjoyed the numerous happy hours offered by the hotel bar, although one downside is that you must order two of the same drink for the buy one get one free. The infinity pool was gorgeous and both it and the beach were relaxing and comfortable. The room we had was beautiful and very large, with a huge walk-in shower. We really enjoyed the porch and spent many hours sitting there. We also appreciated the inclusion of umbrellas and a beach bag in every room. All in all, we would not hesitate to return and have been recommending this resort to everyone. The facilities are modern, beautiful, and fantastic. It is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
A hotel that keeps you wanting to return”
The Hansar Samui Resort has everything required to make a trip to Koh Samui worth remembering. The location is stunning, right on the beach at Bo Phut with views across the ocean to Koh Phangan and stunning sun sets. All rooms are beautifully appointed with balconies and views, the pool is gorgeous and the beach bar is perfect for those sun set cocktails. And then there is the location, situated right in the heart of Fisherman's village which is quickly becoming the coolest place to hang out on Samui. There are plenty of cool boutique stores, a huge variety of great restaurants and plenty of bars on the beach to spend the evening. I've been visiting Samui for many years now and the Hansar is my favorite place by far.
Great location, Great staff, Great breakfast.”
-I stayed a the Hansar Samui with my girlfriend for four nights, during non peak season and overall was very satisfied with the experience. -We reached the hotel at around 7:45AM and check in is stated as after 12:00 on the booking, however they prepared a room for us while we had a lovely breakfast and we were in our room by 8:30AM. -Please note if you go during peak season it is very unlikely they will be able to do this for you, we were prepared for a long wait and were pleasantly surprised. -The Hotel is located in the Bo Phut area of Samui, plenty of restaurants and small shops of all kinds in walking distance but not much in the way of nightlife. -The beach in front of the hotel was clean and not very busy with many sun loungers/shades belonging to the hotel, however it is not fine sand and the water is not clear. Its well worth visiting some of the other beaches on the Island as they are nicer. -The swimming pool is a quite impressive "infinity type", very clean, and with plenty of loungers, and also an outside bar next to it. -Eating/Drinking in the hotel... Very nice food but very expensive. Breakfast was included and varied slightly each day, staying mainly the same but with enough choice both western and asian dishes. Cocktails from the Bar were delicious but also quite overpriced. -The room we stayed in was one of the standard sea view rooms, not huge but plenty of space for a couple and with a large open terrace, design was very nice, big TV (we barely watched it) Free WiFi (not so fast but gets the job done) Amenities were of good quality and bed very large and comfortable. No bath tub though :(, -Staff were very nice and attentive, all service staff spoke decent english but more importantly seemed happy to help. -The hotel as a whole was impeccably clean and well maintained. -Price; hotel itself is well worth the quite high price, however food and dink in the hotel felt priced a bit beyond their value.
Nice hotel on the nicest beach in Samui”
i've got zero complaints about this hotel really. it was my first time in koh samui and based on reviews on agoda & tripadvisor, i decided to book this hotel. it was the best decision ever. i was initally worried whether to stay at chaweng or bo phut, but it turned out to be a wise decision. bo phut has got to be one of the best thai beaches i've been to. pristine, less crowded, and most importantly, no one to sell you a chair or other stuff. the hotel itself was a pleasant stay. my room overlooks the sea and the pool, with a view of the yachts and palm trees. i could've just hung out all day just at the balcony. bed was probably one of the best i slept on. the shower is extremely exposed in the room (perfect for couples, but not so good maybe for families or friends). wifi was free and speed was pretty decent, although there were a couple of "dark spots" where reception was not that great. breakfast - no complaints. they served eggs benedict and pancakes. limited spread though, but pretty decent breakfast. pool was the most enjoyable part of the hotel. it's got a great view towards the gulf of thailand, and you can even have a swim at the pool, and then switch over to swim at the beach within just a few metres. i would definitely stay here again. fisherman's village (where the hotel is located) is a nice small quiet and cosy place with some nice pubs and cafes facing the sea.
Quick but impressive stay”
my partner and i stayed at hansar samui resort in a seaview king room for only 1 night, however we would have loved to stay longer. we were simply wanting somewhere to stay between flying into samui and going to koh phangan the next day. i would definitely go back and stay longer. the room was a decent size, very hotel like except that the bathroom had mostly glass walls around it. this and lots of dark wood gave it a nice thai feel. the shower was huge but the toilet was not very private, as although it was a separate room, it had frosted glass. the bed was very comfortable and the balcony was huge and had nice couches along it. the view was very good from the room, overlooking the pool, ocean and onto koh phangan. most rooms would actually have ocean views as the resort is a u shape around the pool area, which directly overlooks the beach. speaking of the beach, it's not very good. i usually stay in chaweng and bophut is not really for swimming. the sand is coarse and harsh to walk on and the water didn't look inviting. my advice is to stay at the pool... which was great at hansar. big, great temperature - not too cold like some in samui. the location of the resort was right next to the restaurants of fisherman's village. although i didn't get a good chance to try them out, it would be very convenient if you were here longer. the area seemed quiet and peaceful. lots of families and retirees. not really the place to stay on samui if you want to go out drinking. one last comment.... when we left to take the seatran ferry to koh phangan we got hansar to drive us. the driver carried our luggage to the pier. he then checked with the ferry operator whom he seemed to know and found out to our surprise it was full. (we have done this trek a number of times). we got on a standby list and did manage to get on the ferry. however if it hadn't been for the driver's help i doubt we would have worked it out. thanks!
I was initially somewhat suspicious about the overall very good comments about this hotel. After having been there I have to agree with all the positive comments made. I very much liked the hotel. If you want to be close to nightlife maybe a hotel at Chaweng beach is better, but I found the location in Bo Phut excellent and it was easy and not expensive to get around by taxi (I did not use rental car or scooters). Bo Phut offers several restaurants. The hotel restaurant was also excellent. The rooms are very nice. A small area of improvement (and I am sure it will be done) is that glasses, coffee machines, bottle openers etc. were not yet available in the rooms. However, staff was very helpful in providing everything/helping with all our requests at all times. I can only agree with the positive comments made about staff in this hotel. I have never experienced more helpful or more attentive staff in any other hotel/location. If going back to Koh Samui, I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again.
Ideal Honeymoon Spot”
My husband and I booked flights to Ko Samui for the first week of our honeymoon. However, we only booked two nights of hotels because we wanted to scope out the island (and it was low season so we weren't worried about the hotels being booked up). We stayed in a quaint villa in Lamai those first two nights and had a nice time, but after going for dinner in Bo Phut we realized we would prefer to be within walking distance of Fisherman's Village. It's a really nice area with tons of restaurants, shopping and beautiful beach front. After walking into several hotels and viewing their rooms, we stopped at Hansar. It was PERFECT. The pool was gorgeous, the rooms were spacious (love the back porch), and the staff were very kind. We booked four nights and did not regret it!! The hotel helped us with restaurant bookings, taxis, even a private cooking class with Chef Lek. The pool has some cool underwater features, the breakfasts were so satisfying and the location was ideal for wandering our for a massage or mango sticky rice at any time of day or night. We are already talking about coming back for future anniversaries! I can't recommend Hansar enough.
Beautiful hotel on a beautiful island ”
After our stay in Hansar Bagkok and Hansar Koh Samui we will always if possible will stay in Hansar Hotels. We spent 30 days in Thailand for our honeymoon in varuos 5 star hotels and the breakfast was always the best at Hansar hotels. The rooms were spaciuos with high quality modern design and big bathroom. The service level at all Hansar hotels is exceptional. Good gym facilities and good drinks at the bar with 3 happy hours per day. The hotel is only 100m away from the fishermans viallge ful of many cute restaurants serving Thai and Western food. The only minus for me was Bophut beach as the sand was very rough nad it was very deep in the sea directly which meant that children could swim in the swimming pool only as in December it is very windy in Koh Samui and the waves are very big. I wish Hansar was at Chaweng or Lamai beaches. Highly recomend the stay in any Hansar hotel!
Book. Now. Period.”
My wife (Singaporean) and I have traveled all over Thailand many many times and found wonderful accommodations every time. If you're a seasoned Southeast Asia travel you know that no matter how wonderful a place is you probably won't stay there again because there are simply too many other wonderful places to try. There's always something that could be slightly better ie. location, room, food, service etc. As spoiled as we are, we must admit that Hansar Samui is our Ko Samui home. And yes, we will be back. Why? It location at the end of Fisherman's Wharf is brilliant. One excellent beach front resto after another. A big plus for us, a married couple, is there is absolutely no red light culture any where near this part of the island. It's a cut above the normal Thailand experience. The Hansar itself? Laid back and beautifully unpretentious. Not one Florence light anywhere. Vast and open pool area and beachside lounging. Breakfast is terrific, and the happy hours ( 3 per day) have 1 for 1 drinks with free Thai tapas that are delicious. We recommend the XL room, spacious with a 15sqm covered balcony. No need to ask for sea view, all rooms are sea view. Understated and elegant, just the way I'd design it myself. Spelt like a baby. All of that good and fine, but it the service, and we had great service around the world, that really struck us. Out of concern that we would miss our free breakfast because we slept in, they called to ask what we wanted so they could deliver us breakfast in bed. No one does that. No one. We left some money laying around the room; the staff to a picture of it and reminded us that it's never safe to leave money when traveling. Basically, their not just nice to you, they're actively looking out for you. Stunning. The Hansar Samui is a place for grownups and families looking to enjoy paradise without any of the seedy downsides you typically find in Thailand. Take from experienced travelers, Highly Recommended. oh, and the best night market in
Best location in Bo phut”
Pros: 1. Modern décor hotel with nice room + balcony with beautiful pool and sea view 2. Large and comfy bed (great quality sheets) 3. Great infinity pool 4. Location – Bo phut was my favorite place in Samui compared to Chaweng and Choengmon. Great atmosphere in the fisherman village – check out the Friday night market 5. Happy hour – the resort beach bar had happy hour at 13:30, 18:30 and 21:30, which was very good. Great martinis! Cons: 1. Good breakfast, but we've expected a bit more from this hotel, since we've had better breakfast at a lower class resort in Samui. Juices were not freshly squeezed; the choice of cheese was quite limited as well as the fruits. 2. The beach is not swimmable, so if that's what you're looking for go to another beach area (south Chaweng), the pool was a good substitute though Conclusion: This is a good resort in a very nice area in Samui. A bit overpriced for the value.
Stayed with my boyfriend at an oceanview room. Exceptional view. Extremely clean (even for a germophobe). Very spacious. Hotel reception helped us with renting a scooter which was very helpful. Also highly recommended to get around the island (but may not be for first time motorbike riders from North America who drive on the other side of the road. Of all the hotels booked from Agoda for hotels in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Samui, this was by far our favourite. The server/bartender Mhao was exceptional - he deserves a promotion! He was extremely friendly and helped us with all our needs! Would definitely book again at Hansar Samui Resort!
The Hansar Samui is amazing. If you get the opportunity to treat yourself like we did, you absolutely must. The rooms are incredible, the beds amazingly comfortable and the balconies large enough to invite a few dozen friends over to enjoy the spectacular views of Koh Phanaghan in the distance. But what sold it to us, was the pool. An infinity pool that looks over the beach. It's large and just perfect. Fishermans village in Bo Phut is really lovely too and it's a 1 min walk into it.
I stayed a week at Hansar Samui after a week at Celes and a week at Vana Belle. For this price bucket, Hansar is by far the best of the properties I stayed. Rooms are spacious and nice, all with a terrace and a sea view. Infinite pool is spectacular. Pool service is good, with happy hours three times a day. The resort has a luxury, quiet and relaxing vibe. Food at the restaurant is similarly priced than the restaurants in the nearby fisherman’s village Overall, fantastic welcome and service by all Hansar staff, who were all working very hard to make by stay very enjoyable. Hansar staff displays the best of Thailand legendary hospitality: kindness, politeness, attention and of course a smile The spa is excellent and definitely worth the premium price vs cheep ones in the fisherman’s village The travel agency at the resort is excellent and offers much better and secured tours vs high street (having tried both I definitely recommend the hotel agency) Overall a great stay
Dreamy Thai Island Luxury”
Traveling through Thailand with 3 girlfriends in our mid-30s, Hansar was the perfect retreat for two nights during our Koh Samui stay. Just not long enough. The location is perfect, right next to the plethora of shopping and bars/restaurants in Fisherman’s Village. Hansar has it all- including the pure luxury of a resort with an infinity pool that has every single passerby wishing they were staying at this resort. If a beach and ocean are more your thing, the beauty of Bophut Beach is just steps away. You really don’t need to leave the resort (and may not want to), but c’mon, you’re in Thailand! Luckily you don’t need to go far to experience the best of what this island has to offer. Hansar had us leaving wanting more, and I can see why people would come back here over and over again. If/when we return to this part of Thailand, we know where we’re staying.
AMAZING!!! THIS IS A MUST!!!”
OH MY GOD!!!!! I am just speechless!!! this was our honeymoon, 1 month in Singapore and Thailand. This hotel was by far the best hotel we have been to in our entire honeymoon! 1) The staff- They were AMAZING! everyone is so friendly and nice, great welcome and great checkout. we felt like kings the entire time we have spent there! 2) The room- top floor in the right side, was VERY spacuse, well decorated, VERY well maintained and clean, everything in tip top condition, it was just pleasure! 3) The facilities- the pool was AMAZING! we didn't even make it to the beach across the road haha, we always got stuck in this amazing pool! just WOW! and don't even get me started talking about the happy hour! we were drunk most of the day thanks to great beer and fries. 4) The breakfast- great and tasty food, we really liked it + the service was excellent! We really liked it that your can order egg or pancake and then go get the rest of the things by yourself. 5) Location Location Location!!! Right in the end of a walking road on the beach, 5 min. walk to a full set of GREAT restaurants, massage, water sports, bars and shows, but since the hotel is on the end of the road almost nobody other than the people staying in the hotel are walking by and everything is so very quite. Room tip: ask for high floor if few stairs doesn't bother you, it is more private. This hotel is a must!!! we were so sad to leave this hotel, when we come back we will definitely stay here again!! this is a model for how hotel should operate!-!-! Thank you HANSAR Samui Resort!!
Wonderful Experience, Excellent Staff, Great Spa”
I did an upgrade of the room to a Seaview XL room as this was supposedly to be for my anniversary. All the staffs in Hansar Samui was excellent and provided top notched service standards. The food that they served was delicious and a wide variety of spread for breakfast. Dining Under the Stars provided us with a wonderful experience and delicious menu. The room was excellent, in the middle of the property at 2nd level, provided us with breathtaking views of the ocean. The room was also one of the most comfortable ones that I have stayed. The pool was great and is child friendly. The beach was clean and soft. Its also located right next to Fisherman Village which provides us with varieties. Lastly, the spa was very relaxing and good. Yes, Hansar Samui is on the pricey side to a resort stay but the experience they gave me is worth every dollar spent.
Hansar is located right next to the fisherman's village. All other hotels are rather further to the fisherman's village at this area. If you are looking for a good location best for food and massage, Harsar can be one of best choice. We chose this hotel based on the review on tripadvisor. The reviews are pretty accurate, including the ants in the room. But no worries about the ants actually. You can put the welcome chocolate in the freezer. Its breakfast is actually pretty good I think, compared with another hotel I had stayed in Samui, the Sareeraya. Lastly, I have to say Hansar is a pretty hotel with a very great good pool to stay. The Bophut area are not very nice for sea swimming. I don't know why the ocean didn't look very clean. However, the area is quite nice for relaxing, and you can always use free-pick up service to enjoy other quality SPA in Samui, such as ERANDA SPA.
We had stayed in Koh Samui before but never in Bo Phut and we were so happy with our choice. By far the best hotel on the beach. It is brand new and the rooms are decorated beautifully. The bed could be one of the best I have ever slept in. Each morning you order a la carte breakfast which is delicious. We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant and were never disappointed. The pool has the best view on the beach and the staff are great (make sure to have a chat with San and Bird at the beach bar). This hotel provides excellent value for money and we would definitely go back again.
Absolutely beautiful!! ”
stunning location, gorgeous room (we went the deluxe seaview xl)!! right in the heart of the bustling fishermans village with loads of great massage places, spas and shops close by. service was amazing and the relaxation and views around the pool area were really quite lovely! the pool was huge with a perfect temperature (so nice and warm!) but the only con was that there was a little bit of slime on a few of the floor tiles?! we hired a mo-ped and went around the whole of koh samui three times and did heaps of sightseeing -- was so much fun!! and a lot less scary as samui is significantly quieter compared to patong. there was no way in the world we were game enough to try driving there, but felt comfortable in samui -- although, watch out for the tourists in cars, they're the ones causing a lot of the mishaps & accidents (almost got hit by an old russian pulling out in the wrong direction!) had such a lovely time. was very different from all the other places we stayed on our honeymoon as this was our only hotel-type accommodation. all the other places were villas so it was a nice change. to be honest, we loved melati better (see the review) and will definitely stay there next time for the romantic/secluded part of the trip! then hansar again for the close nightlife and restaurants and more central location. with regards to the restaurant: go out and try out cafe 69 -- best food and best cocktails (ask for "judas' kiss" -- potent & delicious!) the restaurant at hansar was insanely expensive (the most expensive we came accross pretty much the whole trip!! only one couple was there once that we noticed in all the lunches & dinners during our stay, so that's saying something?
Beautiful hotel in a nice quiet location”
We stayed at Hansar Samui for one week in may. We were upgraded from a seaview xl room to a beachfront room. The room was fantastic great views and very spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable also. The only problem with the resort was it seemed to lose power in the rooms everytime it rained whilst the rest of the resort went onto generator. Not a big deal though really as you could always just head to the beach bar/wine bar for a drink as it was only ever for an hour it lost power. The food at H bistro was fantastic breakfast/lunch or dinner they never seemed to dissapoint. All in all had a fantastic time at the hannsar samui and would stay there again!
Take a look at these facilities:
