Slow slide into obscurity.”
I stayed here when it opened some years ago. The room and its fixtures and features are impressive until you try to use them. More switches than a man needs are strewn along the strangely shaped over-sized rooms, all unlabelled or obviously located; fluorescent lighting is still fluorescent despite being 'disguised' by fretwork; the plumbing is an adventure in temperature control. The decor is too busy and instead of discrete opulence, the gold-on-gold on a gold background theme screams at you. Coupling Thai overstatement with Cambodian building acumen is a recipe for discomfort, which is the only thing that leaves with you. The breakfast is basic, bland and portion controlled by the staff. Drinks are inexpertly mixed, and accompanied by the usual dining room / kitchen pas de deux of "Sorry sir, we don't have". The website lists parking and valet parking, which suggests a dedicated off-street area, not the reality of parking your own car under a tree across the road, with a somnulent security guard at night. This property provides a statement to the money behind it, but not worthy of the price it charges. Wholly unsatisfactory except the location, which is close to my university (but you won't be wanting that, will you?).

Nice and out of the way, a bit more traditional.”
Overall the hotel is pretty good. It's small, out of the way, and fairly clean. The beds aren't exactly comfortable (our double bed was two twins pushed together) but they get the job done. The place does seem a little bit dirty but I think that's just price you have to pay when whole interior is wood or wood paneled. Not a fan of the bath tub though as it's very small and the bottom feels a bit fragile. I'm also not sure what the pricing is like for the tour groups to the temples, but I would suggest booking this separately through a service listed on TripAdvisor as there is probably a large markup at the hotel itself. Overall it was pretty good and my girlfriend loved it.

Would not recommend this hotel!”
Cramped dark rooms, air conditioning did not work properly, horrible pool and surrounds, hopeless breakfast. Not a relaxing or enjoyable place to stay. Would not recommend this hotel.

Hidden Gem”
Location, staff, accommodations
My son and I originally booked for three days , two nights, We enloyed ourselves so much that we extended our stay... This hotel is located only a short tuk tuk ride from the center of town. Many things are also within walking distance. The center of town can get very loud at night with some of the bars competing as to who can blare their music louder ! So being able to get away from this was a definite plus. Also not far from Ankor Wat and many attractions. We also wanted a property that has a pool. The staff was always available to help and answer questions. All transactions in Cambodia can be done in US Dolars, if you use local ATMs you will be hammered with a bank fee of $5 or $6.

Nice hotel”
Great staff, quiet pool and good bar and restaurant
We had a great stay, this hotel is different from a Sofitel or Meridien, but fits much better in the Angkor Wat atmosphere

Lovely ”
Atmosphere, artifacts,staff attitudes
Enjoyable, relaxed. The airconditioning win our room wasn't up to this hottest time of the year but it was helpful. The staff were lovely, the pool too. Restaurant excellent. Their shop of curios and silk products, over the road, was wonderful: allow plenty of time to immerse yourself in this as well as all your other immersions!
