Chic and cool”
The hostel is as seen on the web. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast set is amazingly beautiful and delicious. I forgot my sunglasse when checked out, the staff called soon after I left the hotel, so we can go get it back in time. Thanks a lot for the honesty of the staff.

Cute, Clean and Convenient ”
I love that they have communal kitchens for sharing on each level. It's something to keep in mind for budget travellers who may want to make simple meals. The location is also very convenient. The rooms are really nice, the bed is great and they look just like in the photos. Highly recommend.

Very good”
Location great, a few minutes walk from main town area, good breakfast selection. Staff speaks decent english and place is so pretty especially in the afternoon. Bathroom facilty in the queen bedroom can be better but doable for a few night's stay. Overall recommended

Nice place well equipped but lacking in human connection ”
Usually hostels we visit are more friendly and welcoming and at happy nest the staff seemed sour and distant. The place itself is very much ok.

Nice cafe attached to hostel”
Unfortunately almost empty when I was staying (Thai pass / Covid times) and they put me in a room with a hostel employee and local medical student. The Common areas were nice to chill out in, there is an excellent cafe on the ground floor. WiFi, locker+key, washing machine, fridge with water, bread & butter to make toast, coffee and hot chocolate, cookies free. Short walk to bars, eateries and night market.

Totally disappointed ”
The lobby look very good but the room are totally different, i dont mind old interior but dirty and un-hygiene are different. I cannot stand the bathroom, there’s fungus and some part are full of rust. The staff on the day i arrived seem like pissing off on something all the time, also you cannot back to hostel later than midnight. Breakfast are ok.

A cute little boutique hostel in the heart of CR”
When I arrived at Happynest I couldn't believe how cute and chic it was, definitely the best hostel that I have stayed during my one month in Thailand. I booked a dorm room at a very reasonable price (with breakfast included) but ended up having the whole room and the toilet to myself. The staff members including the owner were very helpful and friendly; they were doing an ice bucket challenge on one evening and were nice enough to let me join in. There were many social areas for guests to chill out and mingle. I tried the western as well the Thai style breakfast, they were both delicious. I will definitely recommend this hostel to friends who are interested in visiting Chiang Rai!

Great stay in Chiang Rai ”
Happynest hostel is a very modern and clean and well kept hostel. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, which I practically had to myself except for first night. I think because Chiang Rai is not the most touristic town in Thailand. The beds are clean but personally I found the mattress a little too soft for me and found it hard initially to settle. My room was facing the main road so getting to sleep was a little hard with drivers revving engines as they drove by late at night or driving past with loud music after 12am! The room had nice air conditioning which made a good difference as it was very hot. Each floor had shared toilets/bathroom and were split into separate male and female bathrooms with one shower each for men and women on all floors. Good thing the place didn't fill up, must have been low season so never had to contend for the shower. Location is nice and central, the hostel is a good 20 minute walk from main bus station, night bazaar and restaurants and shops. The White Temple (main draw to Chiang Rai) is a good 20 to 25 minute drive away on the highway. Breakfast is included and you get to choose what type when you check in, between Western breakfast or a Thai breakfast. I chose Western, which is scrambled egg, mixed veg and toasted ham sandwich with juice and pot of yogurt. Coffee and tea on offer too. Breakfast was pretty basic, but not bad and was sufficient for me while nothing special. Service was good and staff helpful! All in all, a very good few days stay in a very CLEAN and quiet hostel, would absolutely recommend.

Hostel with a character”
This is located slightly off the hustle bustle of Chiang Rai but not far at all from everything that Chiang Rai has to offer, The decor of the hostel is very tastefully done. Lot of open spaces, Rooms were always clean. Staff was always very helpful. It is right on the White Temple bus line and the minibuses could be hailed right from outside the hostel. Food vendors set up shop at night for dinner and for 40 baht one could try wholesome delicious meals right outside the hostel. Safe neighborhood.

Centrally located clean hostel style accommodation”
The Happynest Hostel is a great alternative to booking a "normal" Hotel in Chiang Rai. I've tried the reasonably priced and spacious private twin room and would recommend it to travelers in this region. It does not come with anything fancy but is clean, has basic thai and western breakfast and helpful staff.

My stay at Happynest Hostel was very enjoyable. Staff are young and very friendly and the place is very nicely decorated, modern and fun. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable with a lot of sunlight. The dorms and the rooms are very cool. Good quality at a good price. I would definitely stay here again!

Short stay”
Very cute little hostel! We got in at around 22:00, but there was someone at the desk waiting. You order your breakfast the night before, and the coffee was very good! We only stayed for a night in Chiang Rai. The showers had hot water, and we got a good nights rest! The next day we rented a motor bike from the hostel so that we could see a bunch of the temples. The front desk was very helpful in showing us the routes we should take, and they had the bus schedule posted which was helpful for when we left for Chiang Mai :)

Adorable but Quiet ”
I spent one night at Happynest to catch a morning flight out of Chiang Rai the next morning. The staff did well negotiating a half day deal for a scooter and helping me book a taxi to the airport the next morning. They could have been more informative on the attractions in the area. I missed out on seeing the White Temple because it was closed when I got there. I told the front desk I wanted to catch it around sunset and he suggested getting there around 5:30. Spoiler alert: it closes at 5. It was my mistake but a warning would have been nice. Overall the facilities were nice. As is customary is most hostels, beds weren't the comfiest and common spaces were slightly messier than they appeared in the pictures. The location was fine, you aren't in the center of everything but the walk isn't bad. The atmosphere was very quiet at first but picked up a little later in the evening when people got in for the day. Overall it was a decent stay and average value. Bike rentals and airport transfers aren't included and the breakfast is just cereal and toast. I'm not sure if you can find any better in Chiang Rai, it is kind of a sleepy town to begin with.

Super loved it!”
Received warmly and was so relieved that they can speak sufficient english (after an effort to do so in our hostel in Chiang Mai). Location is good, 10-15min walk from bus station and the tuktuk drivers know it well. Bus stop to white temple is just 3min walk from hostel. The design is just lovely! From wall decors to the momentos, etc. They designed it with functionality in mind, as well. Loved the fact that for a hostel, they have hairdryer (vain me). Also, loved the Einstein-looking bulb by the bed side that is useful when you are reading before sleeping. Bedroom slippers were warm and fuzzy type. Breakfast was great too and served with fruits. They have bike rental for 20baht per hour, and motorbike rental as well. Good idea to rent the motorbike going to white temple, black house and hilltribe village (with due research for direction of course), which we realized only after hiring a tuktuk for half a day (350baht). Our return trip to chiang mai was later at 3pm so we just lounged around after 12noon, which was perfectly fine. We an still use the wifi and toilet, we did not feel being kicked out at all.;) I would really love to go back. :)
