Really Great Hotel”
Our five days at the Harbour Grand Kowloon were very enjoyable. We spent most of the time out and about in Kowloon--shopping, walking and meeting up with business people. But out main purpose was to relax and enjoy a leisure stay while in Hong Kong. The Harbour Grand Kowloon was very good value for our dollar in this regard. Every experience we had would rate between 8-10 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. The food and wait service in the Chinese restaurant, the Promenade, the Japanese restaurant (Robotoyaki), the Corner Cafe, and the Waterfront Bar and Grill were all above expectations. One night at the Waterfront Bar and Grill, we took an outdoor table. As we were sipping our beer and wine at the beginning of our meal service, it started to drizzle rain slightly. One of the waitresses immediately came over to our table and offered to take us to another table under the tent. We did not have to ask to move; she anticipated that already. That is service. Our room maid was the same for the whole five days we were there. When we went to breakfast usually between 7:30 and 10:00 AM each day; by the time we returned to the room, about an hour to an hour and a half later, the room was already made up and clean! That is service. The spa staff on the top floor were very courteous and made the experience very enjoyable. The doormen and the bellmen were helpful, smiling always, and very courteous. Check-in and check-out service was prompt, quick and with a smile all the way through the process. Great hotel, and I would absolutely recommend it to friends.
Myself and my partner had been backpacking across Asia for 4 months and Hong Kong was our last stop before we went home. We really wanted a little bit of luxury to end our trip on a high. Harbour Grand Kowloon was everything we wanted and more. We got the harbour view for a very good price, as there was a deal on at the time of booking. The staff were a little shocked when 2 dirty backpackers came into the hotel but they were extremely helpful to us. I suppose they don't get too many backpackers coming into their hotel. The room was incredible, the rooftop was spectacular and the overall hotel was just breathtaking. There is a shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes and it takes you into the centre where you get the MRT anywhere you want. However, you can walk along the harbour front, which is very nice. The walk will take you around 30-40 mins depends how fast you walk. Sadly there was a down side to the hotel. On our last night we wanted to treat ourselves to a posh meal. We went to the Harbour Grill in the hotel. We arrived at 9pm, which we did think it might be too late but the manager said it be fine. However, throughout our meal it felt like the waiters were rushing us. I understand it was the eve of Chinese New Year but we would of gone somewhere else if the restaurant wanted to close early. The food was incredible but the waiters ruined it for me because they were constantly rushing us. Apart from the Harbour Grill experience I whole heartily recommend this hotel. When my friends and family seen the pictures of the hotel they thought it looked amazing and it was amazing in every way. Even though I had clothes that I have worn for 4 months, I still felt like a celebrity in this fabulous hotel. Thumbs up from me.
Great hotel with good views and large rooms”
We chose this hotel as a friend in Hong Kong lives nearby. We had a twin room which had two double beds which provided ample space for my wife and I and our 5 year old son. The room was spacious by Hong Kong standards and the bathroom was modern and well-equipped with a bathtub and separate shower cubicle. The harbour view from our room looked out across to the old Kai Tak airport site and North Point/Quarry Bay on Hong Kong Island. From the ground floor restaurant and the harbourside footpath outside the hotel you have the 'classic' Hong Kong harbourside of skyscrapers which are illuminated at night - maybe some rooms have this view too! We didn't eat in the hotel as there are many restaurants to cater for all tastes and budgets within 5 minutes walk. There are also many local shops including a department store (Jusco) which also has a large supermarket and is located within a landlocked ship-shaped building. The hotel is served by the free Airport Express bus service (route K1) to Kowloon station to connect with the Airport Express train service to the airport. The hotel also has a free shuttle bus to nearby Hong Hom MTR station and the Tsim Sha Tsui shopping area. If you miss the hotel shuttle bus, a taxi to Tsim Sha Tsiu/Kowloon Station area cost around HK$45 or the local Hong Kong bus route 8A from the Whampoa Garden bus terminal takes you to the Star Ferry Kowloon for a lot less! More information on local facilites can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whampoa_Garden The Hong Kong MTR is being extended to this area which will make it even more convenient once this is completed. I'd certainly recommend this hotel and will consider it for my next stay in Hong Kong.
Grand 5-star hotel”
the harbour grand kowloon hotel is a true 5-star hotel. the hotel has a huge lobby with a grandioso marble staircase to a marvelous 2nd floor restaurant. because of this, there are a lot of weddings booked at this hotel. the pool is gorgeous with an absolutely stunning hong kong skyline view. the concierge staff was very helpful with inquiries. there is a complementary shuttle to the tsim tsai tsui area every half hour and very timely. it takes less than a couple of minutes to the mtr and shopping areas. if not, taxis are inexpensive. the whampoa area which the hotel is located is also an area worth exploring. overall, we recommend the harbour grand hotel and would stay here again.
Great hotel, great service, great location”
i am most pleased at my decision to stay at harbour grand kowloon during my recent visit to hong kong. i arrived at the hotel late at night after a near 14 hour flight and was immediately made to feel very welcome by staff at the front desk. a warm, smiling face makes all the difference when you are tired and just longing to get into bed. and what a comfortable bed awaited me! i found my room to be quite large and well appointed. staff were well trained, extremely polite and helpful. breakfast at the promenade restaurant was varied and delicious and the meals i had at the chinese restaurant were always most enjoyable. this is a hotel at which i will certainly stay again and one which i recommend highly to others.
We enjoyed our stay at Harbour Grand Kowloon, customer service was exceptional(Cally), the harbourview room was superb. The double bed is bigger than Aust standard King size & comfortable. The location is perfect for a lay-back person like me and yet it’s only 10 minutes away from the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui, local food is only within 8 minutes walk to Wuhu St. Love this hotel and look forward to experience the sister hotel across the harbour- Harbour Grand Hong Kong at New Year’s Eve!!!!!
Dear Chong, Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review! I was happy to read that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay here and our team took good care of you. We’d love to welcome you again on your next trip to Hong Kong! Kind regards, Peter Pottinga General Manager
Excellent Harbour Grand Kowloon ”
If your going to Hong Kong l recommend stay at the Harbour Grand Kowloon, friendly staff, very clean, fabulous buffet breakfast and dinner and a fabulous harbour view from your room and from the pool deck on the 21st floor. I have food allergies and the Executive Chef Alexandre Buytaert came to speak with me and organised food for me. He is a delight, well mannered and very considerate of my situation . They have a free shuttle bus and the train station is only 3 mins away also the shopping centre's around here a fantastic . 😀 Two Very happy Australian's
Dear Kaye, Thank you for taking your time in giving us a wonderful review. We are glad to hear that you had a good experience with us during your stay. Great to know that Alexandre has taken such good care of you. Your compliments are invaluable to us and we will be looking forward to welcoming you back to our hotel again. Great Hotel for visit to Hong Kong”
Our stay was first class, we would definitely use this hotel again. At first we were anxious that it was outside of the central Kowloon area. But this proved not an issue, with a frequent shuttle service dropping us there in 10 minutes. On the one occasion where we could not get the bus we used a taxi and the taxi drive droped us at the Star Ferry in less than 5 mins( obviously he was an ex FI driver)!!!. And it only cost 35 HKD (less than £3).The centre of Kowloon and Hong Kong is extremely busy and it was a joy each evening to return to the peace and quiet of the Harbour Grand. All the staff at the hotel were extremely frienndly and helpful.
Grand Harbour Grand”
As always we enjoyed our stay at the Harbour Grand Kowloon. A great Hotel with ample facilities, great food with much variety and capable staff, gets us fully prepared for a trip into China. On our return we again use the fantastic facilities such as pool and dining to relax after a hectic week, not to forget the regular visit to the corner café. The regular transport to almost anywhere and local knowledge of the staff, what to do and see, give you confidence to explore new areas, not yet visited in Hong Kong. We will do it all again very soon!
Best hotel I have stayed in in Hong Kong. Great service starts the moment I checked in. On the 2nd day of my stay, Black Storm hits Hong Kong. The service staff were very helpful to provide useful advice and help when I had to go out to meet my friend for dinner. The arrangement for my airport transfer was flawless on the day of my departure. Harbour Grand Kowloon will definitely be my first choice for my next trip to HK.
Home away from home”
This is our third stay at this hotel over the last 4 years. Its very easy getting to the hotel from the airport. We took the AEL to kowloon station and then from there we rode in a taxi (although we could have taken the airport bus which is free). The first thing you notice about the hotel is the cleanliness and the great view of the harbour and Hong Kong island from anywhere in the lobby. The area of the hotel is also very quiet but there are shops and restaurants within a 10 minute leisurely walk. The hotel also has a shuttle service every 30 minutes and the ferry to Wan Chai and Central is a short walk away. We decided to try the harbour view rooms this time and the view from our bedroom window was just beautiful. The girl at the front desk took our room requests seriously and asked us if we wanted a room with a nice view or one that was near the elevator (Thanks!). We decided on the view. Although the room was 50 meters from the elevator, so it was still great. The room was very clean, comfortable in size, we had a king size bed, a nice two seater sofa and as many pillows as we wanted. The water closet was a bit oddly positioned though as it was behind the open door (no direct access :-)), but that wasn't going to ruin our stay. They also have a great gym and spa and 5 restaurants for you to enjoy. The concierge staff took very good care of us. They gave us directions, kept packages for us, made reservations and even helped us get information we needed. They made our stay very convenient and they did with graciously and with a smile. The head honcho behind the counter, Paul, has been with the hotel for ages. He remembered me from the previous visits. If he is not around, Bob "the cowboy" Yip, Sunny, Timmy and the rest of the guys will handle anything just as well. All in all a great place to stay...oh, I almost forgot...you have to check out the pool on the roof...one of a kind!
a lovely hotel, just a little far from the action”
the harbour grand kowloon has fantastic views of the harbour and hk from its roof top swimming pool. spent lots of hours up there relaxing. the rooms a very spacious and also have great rooms - we upgraded from our courtview to a harbour view which was very worth it. the rooms feels fairly modern, albiet they have a little of a corporate dated feel, but everything is up to 5 star standard and fairly modern. staff are very friendly and hospitable. the breakfast buffet is a bit overloaded with people but the selection and quality of food is good. the location is the only thing that let's down the hotel - it isn't in kowloon it is in hom hong, which is about a 15-20 drive to the star ferry. they do have a free bus that takes you to the mtr/star ferry but this only goes every 30 mins so not always convenient. as the majority of the action in hk is on on the island, it did take ages to get anywhere. but all in all thought the hotel was great and would recommend if you don't mind the extra travelling time.
HARBOUR PLAZA HONG KONG”
I stayed at the Harbour Plaza Hong Kong during November 8 - 15. I stayed on the Club Floor. I was quite impressed with how big the rooms were and the view of the Harbour was spectacular! When I arrived, upon checkin I was taken to the Harbour Club floor since I was staying in a Harbour View room on the club floor. The staff were very friendly and very courteous. On my birthday I was surprised to find a bottle of Chardonay and a cake with Happy Birthday on it. I was very impressed with how far this hotel went to make me feel special! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay on the Kowloon side in Hong Kong.
Harbour Plaza- the good and the bad”
We stayed in a Premium Harbour view room and the view was excellent and very romantic! As stated before the rooms are slightly used and the hotel isnt quite 5 star maybe 4-4.5. Location is in Kowloon, though you can stay in Hong Kong Island with similar Harbour view room but at the time we went the cheapest rate on that side was $100 more a night. Hong Kong Island for the tourists offers convenience of grand shopping areas and malls and easy access to Macau via Helicopter or Jetfoil (via turbojet company. Do not take the tricat especially in bad weather as its slower and way more bumpier and hence sea sickness) and ofcourse easier access to Victoria Peak etc. However if you have longer time to stay and this harborr room was available similar to our price of $100 less than Hong Kong island side and you dont mind the 20mins taxi ride each way then go for it. <br /> The hotel is right on the harbor and you can go out for a walk or run all along the harbor shore just outside. The room service food is good but not mouth watering delicious and for the prices at hotels anyways you are better off going outside and eating better delicious food. Probably can do so even at high class establishments for similar pricings.
Stunning hotel with excellent customer service”
As a family we have travelled extensively around the world, and I have to say that I would rate the customer service we received at the Harbour Grand - Kowloon as amongst the best we have ever experienced. From the time we arrived at the hotel at 9am on the 03rd January the service we received could not have been better. Queenie at the reception arranged for an early check-in for us,arranged for our bags to get taken up to the room. The next day Queenie, nothing was to much to ask of Queenie. She advised as to where, how and how much it was to catch the ferry, advised on transport to the airport, phoned ahead to another hotel that our children were moving to, to ensure that their booking was all in order. Overall, I would like to highly commend Queenie on her professionalism, friendly disposition, and the knowledge that she gave us. If all hotel staff around the world could be half as good as her - travel would only be a pleasure!! Please pass this on to her. Lastly, our stay was very enjoyable - food was of a high standard(Howard doing the omlettes and eggs was excellent), the room was great, and the service we received from all your staff surpassed our expectations. Well done and thanks for our stay.
Quite location, good value for money, nice restaurants and facilities”
I stayed with my wife at Harbour Grand while on a business trip. The hotel is a good deal in terms of value for money since it offers affordable prices combined with a nice location (the hotel is directly on the Hung Hum promenade, facing Hong Kong Island), spacious and comfortable rooms, good facilities (above all the pool on the top floor, with a spectacular view of all Victoria harbour), nice restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to Tsim Sha Tsui, from where you can easily reach all the attractions by MTR. The hotel is suitable for tourists and also for businessmen, especially on a long stay.
Great place to base yourself to see Hong kong. ”
After six weeks in Europe this was a great way to finish our holiday. The rooftop pool was amazing as was special club lounge we had access to - worth the extra money to get access. Having not been to Hong Kong before the concierge desk was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction when looking to do specific things. We have already decided our next trip to Hong Kong will include a stay at the Harbour Grand Kowloon.
Great place to stay in Hong Kong”
Really enjoyed our stay at the Harbour Grand Kowloon. We were in Honk Kong with two teenage children and had an interconnecting room. The Pool was great, especially at night. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around and the MTR from Whampoa is just around the corner and easy to get around the city. Also used the shuttle which was convenient.
A bit of luxury after a long trip”
Took airport express to Kowloon and then took hotel shuttle to the Harbour Grand Kowloon. It was effortless. At check in we asked about restaurants and the receptionist gave us a run down on all the different restaurants available. Phoned through to check that our restaurant of choice was available and made a booking for us Next morning checked out at 12 midday which gave us time to have a walk along the water before setting out for the second leg of our journey. The hotel is a little out of the way if you want to be in the bright lights but the hotel runs shuttles throughout the day. The airport shuttle comes every 12 minutes to pick up and drop off passengers. A great choice
Great location,a beautiful view, awesome staff”
With so many choices to stay in Hong Kong , the Club rooms in the Harbour Grand Kowloon are awesome value for money , And the staff that look after you whilst your there were always friendly and super fast at making all requests happen at warp speed At any time of day. Thanks again for a great stay .
