Large room and polite staff at checkin, well worth its price if you don't mind to stay far from downtown

Great Location, Super Convenient”
Loved that it was next to Tin Shui Wai Park-- place is bumping early in the morning with Tai Chi practitioners and walkers. It's right next to a mall, so there's tons of food options, and there's a 24/7 7-11 literally a few steps away from Tower 1 Exit. Super easy to get to. Can just take the West Rail MTR Line to Tin Shui Wai and then from there take exit C, cross a walkway, and hop on bus 69M (~$4.3-$5.3, depending on bus type), 256B ($4.3), or any bus to the Town Center Terminus) to get there. Literally the Town City bus terminal touches Tin Shui Wai Park, the mall, and the side of Tower 1 of Harbour Plaza Resort City. By the by, the mall is accessible from the second floor of Towers 1 and 2. I preferred Tower 1's side actually bc McDonalds (coffee), a cheaper Hainese poached chicken restaurant (next to McDs), and a little Korean shop that I wish I knew about weeks before-- had excellent prices on wholesome goods (almonds, whole grain oats, dried fruits, etc.). Also that little Korean shop has Cheerios ;). Do wish the airport shuttle were free, but hey it's easy and convenient. Great stay.
Relaxing Hong Kong”
The vast majority of tourists to Hong Kong stay in Kowloon or Hong Kong Island, which is where most of the hotels are, and also the tourist attractions. This is the publicised image of Hong Kong, full of energy, noise and bustle. But there are alternatives and Harbour Plaza Resort City is one of them. Set in the New Territories in the new town of Tin Shui Wai, this hotel offers relative peace and quiet. Rooms are large and comfortable with plenty of facilities. Some have a view over the park at the rear. Transport is very easy. There is a light rail station opposite the hotel and the bus terminus is adjacent to the hotel (direct service to airport). Taxis are available from outside the hotel. By train you can reach Tsim Sha Tsui in about 40 minutes. The hotel also runs a shuttle bus service. The best way to use the excellent public transport system is to buy an Octopus Card (airport or major rail stations) which is valid on almost any form of transport and can be recharged as necessary at local convenience stores. Recommended for anyone who wants to see a different side of Hong Kong and does not mind being away from the major tourist areas.
I am so pleased with the accomodation we had during our 3 days (2 nights) stay in Harbour Plaza Resort City Hotel. The hotel is clean, spacious, comfortable and most of all the staff are really accomodating. Being in Hong Kong for the first time, I can say that I made the right choice for staying there. The Mall attached to Harbour Plaza Resort City Hotel is really fantastic because you can find almost everything there. There is also a Supermarket inside Ginza Square (the mall) If you want to stay most of the time in the Hotel, to rest and relax, this is the place for you because it is a self-contained Hotel. You can also make use of the gym and sauna---this is free. If you want to go places, then its okay, because transportation is available since this Hotel is located near the bus terminal (within walking distance) and the other mode of transportation like MTR and Taxi's are just around the corner. You can ask the Hotel staff for directions--they are so helpful. I suggest that if you go to Mongkok or TST, then this Hotel fits you well, because you can sleep soundly after having been to the busy streets of Hong Kong. If you want a hassle-free booking then book here at Agoda.
Large, well appointed rooms.”
Harbour Plaza Resort City offers well appointed, large rooms at a bargain price compared to other HK hotels. The property is located about 45 minutes from the airport via the hotel's private shuttle bus ($100HK per person each way). The Ginza light rail stop is in front of the hotel via which you can reach the Westrail station in about five minutes. From here you can conveniently go anywhere in HK. Unlike Kowloon or HK Island, the Yuen Long area gives a glimpse of how HK residents live in the New Territories. If you're comfortable with getting a bit off the tourist track, Harbour Plaza Resort City is a great choice. While you're sampling the real HK, why not forgo the relative expensive hotel shuttle bus and take the E34 airport bus instead. The E34 offers a roll-on luggage ramp and ample luggage racks. Ride it to the end of the line and you are just across the side-street from Harbour Plaza Resort City. The E34 costs less than $20HK per person (see my travel tip for more info).
I recommend this hotel to travellers who want value for money. The price is reasonable, the location is very accessible though it is a little far to Disneyland and Ngong Ping and the airport. The place is safe even though we get to the hotel late at night. There are shops and 7 Eleven stores at the corner. Rooms are clean and they will provide new towels and other toiletries and water everyday. There is no free wi-fi in the room, the hotel will charge for internet connection. But the good thing is there is a free wi-fi at the park nearby so guests can relax while uploading pictures and browsing the internet. We checked-out early, so we can enjoy going to other places. But we have to get back to the hotel late at night for our reservation to the airport. We asked the staff if we can take a shower? They allowed us and assisted us at they gym room! Hoorayyy!!! I would like to thank again all the staff of this hotel for assisting us in everyway they can, they gave us map for the train stations, it made us our journey smooth and enjoyable. I would like to thank the management and the staff of Harbour Plaza Resort City for making our trip in Hong Kong memorable and enjoyable!!! More Power!!!
nice hotel to stay on”
I stay at the Harbour plaza resort city hotel from the 14 to 17 Oct. 2008. I was very happy to be a guest at this wonderful hotel with such nice and sweet staff. The room was big and bright, and the service at this hotel was very good. I will tell all my family and friends if they visit Hong Kong they have to stay at this hotel. And if I come back to Hong Kong I will also stay at this hotel again, that's for sure. Best regards and thank you for a wonderful stay. from bjarne hornboel from silkeborg denmark
Best Hotel in my life”
I stayed there with low expectations as HK has given me woes in the past. To my surprise Harbour Plaza Resort City was phenomenal.Let's go through some of the essentials: 1)Food-The food in the shopping mall connected to the Hotel was cheap and delicious. Not mention, they stay open until 2 AM,with a stacked menu. 2)internet-Although you must pay for it at an exorbitant rate, if it is a must, you could opt for that or use the coffee shop for free provided you buy a coffee. 3)Rooms)The rooms were clean, huge and had breathtaking views. The water pressure is to die for and the bathtubs were large.Additionally, the complimentary toiletries were all-inclusive. 4)Transportation)Getting around was unproblematic considering the LRT which connects to the MRT, is right at your doorstep. 5)Airport bus)There is one that runs regularly from the airport-hotel, 7 days a week. 6)Staff)Super friendly and at your service 7)Price)For all that I have mentioned, I have often gotten less than half from 5 star hotels in the past
A fantastic stay”
It was my second time staying at this modern and comfortable hotel. The last I was given a free upgrade to a really spacious room; this time I was not upgraded, but still got a lovely corner room on a very high floor, with huge windows both in the room and in the bathroom, offering fantastic views of this part of the city, day and night. It was a totally enjoyable stay. Easy access by tram (Ginza stop) from Tin Shui Wai subway station, or by bus 969 from HK Island or Kowloon (western tunnel toll plaza).
Thank you for staying at the Harbour Plaza Resort City. Your compliment would definitely be an added encouragement for us to strive for service excellence. Looking forward to serving you in future!
Overall, a great hotel!”
Overall, Harbour Plaza Resort City is nice! It is away from the very hectic Hong Kong areas and hotel amenities and services are really up to par! The pricing is great and I would definitely stay here again. I don't mind the 50 minute travel time from the hotel to TST and Kowloon.
Everything you need is within reach.”
I've been in and out of different hotels in Hongkong - almost all of them are good but has become very expensive. Harbour Plaza Resort City is reasonably priced. The distance is not much of a problem because it is accessible by bus, train, shuttle bus or taxi. The hotel is connected to a mall where everything you need is there. Restaurants, fastfood, 7-11s, Supermarket, Pharmacy, and so much more are all there. Swimming pool and gym are good, clean and okay. Very good staff too! The rooms are a little old but well-maintained and clean. no regrets that I gambled on this one. I'll stay here again!
Good size room”
We found the hotel very quiet and relaxing. Though its not very central to Hong Kong and the tourist hot spots, it does have good big sized comfortable rooms and the local area is pretty. The hotel is right beside a shopping center and there are plenty of restaurants too. The staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We would recommend the Harbour Plaza Resort City to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.
My favourite hotel in Hong Kong”
You can not beat the quality for the price. The rooms are large, clean and quiet. I love that the room has a kitchenette with a large fridge and microwave. The staff are nice although not particularly helpful. It is difficult to get help with luggage. The airport shuttle is convenient. The hotel backs onto a huge park and has a mall attached. There are a number of restaurants, a movie theatre and stores right there. The only downside to this hotel is the distant from Kowloon and Hong Kong Island but there are lots of buses, the subway and a hotel shuttle to get you there. I have stayed at Harbour Plaza a number of times now and I'm always happy with my choice.
We really like Harbour Plaza Resort for a break in a long journey. We have been here before, and it was as good as we remembered. The shuttle bus from the airport is now 100$HK each way pp,but it whisks you there in a half hour, and the hotel is lovely. This is not the place if you want to see the sights of central HK,although it is right beside city bound transport. There is nothing touristy about the area. There is a large park next to the hotel, and a shopping centre adjoining, with best of all for us,an excellent supermarket selling sushi, roast duck, wine, perfect for an in room dinner party. There is a microwave too,and hotplate, but no equipment. We certainly look forward to staying there again.
A hotel good for relaxation”
it's not near the popular places to go to in hongkong but traveling to and from this hotel is absolutely not a problem. we took the bus from the airport and got off a stop just right beside it. other means of transportation are available like the mtr and shuttles. actually, you do not need to go that far to shop because there is a mall right beside it. the prices are just the same as those in popular shopping places in tsim sha tsui. the atmosphere is pretty laid back and you can just relax by taking a stroll at the nearby tin shui wai park. this place is really good for families or couples who just need to take a break from the busy city life.
Hotel Divided by Shopping Mall”
The Harbour Plaza Hotel has two towers separated by a park, but connected by a large, U shaped mall between the towers. Services of the hotel are split between the two towers. It is located in a community of tall condominiums with a suburban feel compared to Kowloon. Streets are not crowded, and there are attractions nearby. This hotel is out of the way for Hong Kong visitors, and a taxi costs 250 HK dollars if you arrive late at night after subway and bus services end. Both subway and bus services are conveniently located to the hotel, when they are operating.
2 days get away from Hong Kong downtown”
VERY cheap hotel in HONG KONG. If you want to tour around in tinshui wai, then mum and yuan long, that's the best and probably the only choice for you. We're from Hong Kong but we've never really discovered tin shui wai, yuan long and tuen mun. This time, by staying in this hotel, we got easy access to NAM SANG WAI, YUAN Long, Sam sing village and lau fou shan. The hotel is very close to LRT station so it's very convenient. The buff rut lunch is also reasonably priced. I've got a room with tiny living room which was spacious. The view of tin shui wai Park is also nice. HOWEVER, there's no free wifi.
Harbour Plaza Resort City ”
Except for the internet issue, Harbour Plaza Resort City has everything I want in a hotel during a holiday: well-appointed spacious rooms that feature a small sala and kitchen, a great view of the town center, accessible bus and light railway stations which are a few steps away from the hotel, a shopping mall right at the back, 24-hour 7-Eleven convenience stores (open even if we arrived at 12 midnight). It offers great value-for-money to budget travelers. The best way to get there would still be the E34 coach (called Airbus) located in the station to the right of Terminal 2. One-way fare for the 45-min+ trip is HK$13.60, much lower than the HK$70 express shuttle.
Highly recommended, outstanding value for money”
Finding the hotel was very easy, simply go to Tin Shui Wai MTR station and take the light rail to Ginza (which is 3 short stops away). The hotel is situated across the road from the light rail station, which I found to be very convenient. At check in the staff were courteous, polite and helpful. There are 2 blocks in this hotel, our room was situated in the other block, which is just across a square from the main hotel. The room was quite large, with a good sized bed, sofa, TV (not LCD), dining table, kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave. The bathroom has a small bath with a shower head. The room was very clean with a nice view of the local park. As we only stayed one night, we didn't have time to try any of the restaurants within the hotel. Overall I highly recommend this hotel, it is amazing value for money.
Nice-sized rooms, great facilities”
We stayed in a Superior room at the Harbour Plaza Resort City and would recommend the experience to anyone looking for a reasonably-sized room in Hong Kong without having to pay an arm and a leg. Of course, it is out in the New Territories, a considerable distance (an hour?) from the city, but one could consider it to be a plus to be away from the maddening bustle of the city. And it being Hong Kong, one is never too far away from the crowds anyway. The hotel has a nice pool and gym, and best of all, for those seeking exercise outdoors, is adjacent to the very pleasant Tin Shuai Wai park.
Nice hotel but too far from the city and airport”
I booked the hotel at the last minute based on its review. The rooms are clean and spacious, the mall, public bus stand and MTR are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. However, if you are into healthy eating, the eatery places inside the mall are not the healthiest (KFC, McDonald's, pizza hut, lots of bakery shops) unless you are into Chinese food. Also, there's no much sightseeing near/round the hotel apart from Wetland Park which is 3-4 MTR stops away from the hotel. The hotel provided shuttle services to and from Disneyland at 50 HKD each way per person, however the scheduled pick up time by the last shuttle bus from Disneyland needs to be looked at as it's at 2040 and the fireworks which everybody that visits disneyland wants to see starts at 2100. If you opt to take the train, be prepared as it will take u almost 1 hour and hopping on and off of trains before u get back to the hotel. TV channels could also be improved and wifi added in the rooms for days when you just want to stay indoors. Overall, my stay at Harbour Plaza Resort City was a pleasant one.
