Pretty sub par from my experience in the Phils ”
The room was pretty standard but still not great for the price. Especially with them getting a deposit for a towel! I don’t think I met one nice staff member. They act like everything is an extreme inconvenience for them- they made me feel uncomfortable the whole time. When you check out in, they don’t even tell you where your room is - they act like you should already know and say key is in the door! I don’t recommend this place. Maybe because it got written up in Lonely Planet so now they are complacent and take their business for granted... do some extra research to avoid. One nice thing though is the organic food - this is something hard to find in the Phils, maybe eat her but don’t stay the night

Decent room for the price you pay”
Coordination of their staff to assist their customers needs a lot of improvement. The front desk sent us upstairs to look for a room and somebody will assist us we're left confused for 5mins wonderin around the lobby. When we checked out, the assigned staff didn't return the ID of my bf (my bf remembered it eventually when ID was needed in their dive shop).

Great dive shop and super lovely staff!”
Harold’s is the first to pop up in your Dumaguete google search for a reason! We had a wonderful stay here. The room was simple and at times the AC was a little vocal - but the common area on the roof was magic! The staff in the kitchen and garden were particularly lovely. The dive shop down stairs is the best asset - we took their Apo diving tour, which has been a highlight from our Philippines adventure!

Stayed here because we booked an Apo Island Tour at Harold's. The room was clean, the AC was great, but the mattresses were old and bug infested.

Ok for a short stay”
We were told that check-in starts at 12pm. We reached the place around 12:30 but we were asked to wait since the room needs cleaning. So we waited for 30 mins. The bathroom door was broken, there were bed bugs. My legs & tummy area has red and itchy spots. Aircon is good. Staff were not so friendly. Location wise it’s near the boulevard and other resto’s.

Bugs Everywhere”
A/C is working well. Bed is comfortable eniyght to rest and sleep but not really clean. Room is not really clean. Too many bugs and house spiders. The room given to us does not even have a number. The main door can easily be open if not forcefully closed and locked. No towel. Yiu have to rent it. No tissue. You have to buy it. Pretty expensive for that room.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The best thing is the terrace with a view over the city, full of plants (including a small "herb garden"), where you can have breakfast and dinner. They cook well, and offer a fern salad! In our room, there was free shampoo and soap. Ask for the towels directly at the reception, they are not in the rooms (but they provide them). The receptionist was helpful with advising us where is the bus stop to San Jose (intersection of Aldecoa Dr and Negros South Road) to get to Twin lakes (we did a self-organized half-day trip), which we highly recommend. The other staff was very polite. We went with Harold´s also to Apo island and it was amazing - everything very well organized, we got our own snorkelling guide for the 2 of us (he was very funny :-) ), the boat was big and we felt safe all the time, we enjoyed the food (the portions were big) and the corals and sea turtles were wonderful! We would definitely come and stay again!

Quick stay is ok”
We were supposed to be a group of 5 turned 4. We booked in advance 2 rooms at Harold's Mansion. It was just an overnight stay before we depart for Siquijor. It is ok for a quick stay but you can look for better options in the area at a slightly higher price. PROS: - Cheap stay with free towel and toilet paper. - Own CR, shower with hot water - free basic breakfast (either pandesal bread or sticky rice) - unlimited water and coffee - Location is good: Near restaurants (you can walk to Silliman area), nearby local/sari-sari stores or even internet shops; 10-15minutes away the airport via Tricycle; 5-minutes away Sibulan Port via Tricycle; beside Harold’s Diving Center which provides tour to Apo Island - You can rent a bike. CONS: - No free shampoo or soap, just buy outside - Should have free wifi but connection not good - Staff friendliness can be improved, kinda snobby when we arrived - If you are more into aesthetic room or hotel with good restaurant, this is not the place

Ants everywhere”
Stayed in dorm room... mold all over the room and had a terrible smell. Ac was not working. Ants all over the room even though there was no food. Ants on my bed when I woke up in the morning. Face me the shivers. I paid for two nights but ended up leaving without a refund because it was that bad. Lovely restaurant and food however and upstairs terrace is so nice with great WiFi.

Staff side facilitie very inadequate”
The staff rude. Said we get only 1roll of toilet paper, no soap or shampoo. If we wanted towels we had to walk down to the lobby and get them. There were no tables, chairs or lamps in the room. I walked and forfeited my payment. I will never stay there again. Shame on agoda for having this place as an option

We arrived 9pm in dumaguete as we came all over from oslob and the receptionist was very much willing to assist us thru phone since we were just DIY travellers and will just be commuting. everything is ok but we appreciate their effort to extend help.. everyone is nice. maybe that is the custom in dumaguete i guess. very gentle and nice people. Breakfast was alright. sticky rice top with hot choco and a coffee. room is alright. big enough for the both of us.

Good for backpackers”
Our room and bathroom were clean, although needs repainting. There are no chairs or table in the room. Towels available upon request. Sockets are functional. Harold's has its own Dive Center if you plan to go diving or snorkeling in Apo Island or swim with the whale shark in Oslob, Cebu.

Just a shelter for the night.”
Affordable rate and proximity to the city. It does not boast anything else. Free coffee and tea whole day. Don't be mislead with free breakfast--just bread and spread, nothing else.
