Awesome location with a fantastic rooftop”

The staff at the desk was very friendly and advised on a great dinner restaurant. The rooftop view onto the dome of rock is the best in town. It is located in the muslim quarter centrally within the old town and easy to reach all sights and gates. The shower was a bit small but not a big deal. The room was very clean.

Location is the only positive thing about this hotel. Bathroom dirt, bad shower, sheets instead of comforter, no elevators, have to walk fifteen minutes from the gate to the hotel with luggage, no porter service, very old room, and smelly. I would rather walk 20 minutes and stay in a more newer hotel then this hotel. I am sorry this is the fact !

Great location be a little overpriced”

The location is great but it is more a hostel than a Hotel when you consider the amenities. I paid 120euros for a triple room, when we arrived, the receptionist asked us if we were married.. which was not the case and which created a lot of confusion because we were not able to sleep in the same room if so. The hotel was full and if we didn’t give a proof of our PACS, one of us would have sleep in the street without reimbursement ! After a little talk to explain what a PACS was, we were able to have the room which was not a triple room but a room with 5 beds ! The room was at the ground floor and we could hear people talking at the reception until 11pm... the view from the room was quite bad (garbage everywhere) and the TV did not work but the room was ok clean and the bathroom was ok too. The receptionist was very nice with us but I am working in the hospitality management and 120e for the room was clearly too much for what we had if you consider all the little problems.

            Good”

Remember that motorized vehicles are not allowed inside the Old City. So get dropped at Damascus Gate, from which it's only 5 minutes walk. Our peeve was with the staff who were not very friendly or helpful regarding nearby restaurants, etc. The worst happened when we asked about transportation back to Ben Gurion Airport by the 10-passenger minivan. Since we had to go on a Saturday morning, the Tourist Center had informed us that we need to make reservation to be picked up. We asked the hotel receptionists (there were two) on the evening before departure to help us make reservation. They told us not to worry, reservation can be made in the morning when we checked out at 10:30 AM (our flight was 2 PM). When we checked out the next morning at 10:30 AM, the morning receptionist told us there is no time, just take a taxi. So we had to pay 350 Shekels instead of 128 Shekels. On reflection, we feel that the staff just couldn't bother to help us.

I enjoyed staying at Hashimi. I'd rate it very good for the prize you pay. (Give it above 8) It's in the perfect location, right in the heart of the Old City. Great location, good value”

            Location, Cleanliness, View from roof

The location of the hotel is great for exploring the Old City. The hotel is about a 5 min walk south of Damascus gate down the steps, don't make any turns. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Internet is free with a strong wifi signal, enough to make VOIP calls. The staff speak English fluently. The nicest thing about the hotel is the view from the roof top. The only drawback was that it may take a few seconds to a minute for the hot water to kick in (but more than hot enough once it does), and the tours offered by the hotel are very expensive. If you're looking for them to organize a trip to the West Bank and other areas, look elsewhere.

            Location, Roof top, view

This would be a nice little hotel if it wasn't for the shabby and small rooms. They are really substandard for the price. Roof top has an amazing view, staff were (mostly) friendly and attentive and the breakfast buffet is good - although paper and plastic plates and cutlery made us feel like siting in a cheap canteen (and it's also not very environmentally friendly). Location is great, right in the heart of the Old City and close to all sights.

friendly hotel in a great location”

location. Staff are friendly, and a good view from the roof-top terrace.

the hotel is located right at the centre of all the attractions. room is reasonably clean and tidy with individual air-con for heating and cooling. smaill lobby where tea and coffee are self-service free of charge. decent breakfast and food are fresh. but be aware that it takes a little walk (5-10 mins) via the busy and narrow alley way full of shops from the main road to get to the hotel, so be prepared if carrying heavy luggages. if arrive late at night, when all shops are closed then this alley way will become dark, but it is stll very safe as police is always on guard here or there as everywhere else in jerusalem. i think this was quite a good choice for me to have stayed over 7 nights in this hotel.

fantastic location in the old town, everything within walking distance. Very helpful hotel staff.

Jerusalem is a very interesting city, with great things to see. Unfortunately we only had 2 days, if possible take a longer time! The staff could make the stay even better if they would make the curtains thicker or at least non-transparent for the light. free wifi in the hotel lobby.
