Great Savings on the accommodation in Perth City”

- Our room is twin sharing with no shower and bathroom but with aircond and heater. On first day, our feeling is uncomfortable but on second days onwards we enjoyed utilising the facilities i.e. shared bathrooms, shower, kitchen. Its all about mindset. - We also have been provided with 2 towels and standard kitchen utensils. - The location is within walking distance to open car parking areas (parking is free from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.), normal hour car parking rate is from AUD3.10 to AUD4.40 per hour. Perth City Council very strict on vehicle parking and stopping. The hotel location is also near to two Red CAT bus stations (Carlton and Bennett) it is free city bus with est. 10 minutes frequency, Halal kebab restaurant, mini market, car rental companies includes Aries, Bayswater and Thrifty (Adelaide Terrace Road) - Took Red CAT bus at Carlton Station to Town Hall Station to walk around the Perth Central Business District including The Bell Tower, Perth Underground Train Station, MYER shopping mall, Woolworths Mall, Murray Street and Hay Street Shopping areas, Halal restaurants i.e. D'Angkasa Malaysia Meals, Indah Indonesia Meals, Insan Cafe Malaysia Meals, Sahara Arab Meals, etc. - Recommended places to visit in Perth for limited 4 days tour includes: 1) Fremantle, harbour area with great Seaview and Seafood Restaurants (took Fremantle train from Perth Underground Station to Fremantle Station with only AUD12.40 Family Rider ticket with unlimited one-day return trips to any destination via Transperth Transport for up to seven passengers); 2) Caversham Wildlife Park for great experience on lovely kangaroos, koala, combat, little penguin, rare wildlife and etc. It is in Whiteman Park (30 minutes drive from Hay Street); 3) Rockingham (60 minutes drive from Hay Street). It is crystal clear beach area and suitable for picnic while kwinana beach area is quite isolated for private beach picnic. Kwinana city centre is nearby and strategically locate one-stop shopping place

Helpfulness”

I arrived at Hay Street Traveler's Inn in the middle of a cold Perth winter and was a bit apprehensive about freezing half-to-death at night but the manager and his staff were so helpful they soon completely eased my fears. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay at the Inn. It is very central to the CBD and a free-bus can take one to all points of interest in the city and furthermore, the inn itself is near a number of good-quality eateries. I recommend this accommodation.

Strategic location ”

We arrived a bit early in the morning and went straight to the inn to leave our belongings before checking in at 12 pm. Upon arrival you'll be given a basket of kitchen utensils to be put on the rack accordingly to your room number. There'll also an allocated space to your room number in the fridge. The guests are free to use all the kitchen facilities like cooking utensils, stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle. And clean them yourselves after finish using them. The inn also has outdoor seatings to eat and drink. I booked a double room, there's a shower attached but the toilet is outside on sharing basis. No worries, the toilet is very clean indeed. Anyway, the pillows are not so comfortable as it feels like it's been covered with some plastic, and then pillowcase applied after. I quite doubt the cleanliness of the sheets. But I am a traveller, so I just lay myself on the bed and fall asleep. No fans in the room. Just open the window, the breeze from outside is enough. There's an air-conditioning unit in the room, but i think it's centrally-controlled. Red CAT stop is just in front of the inn. Just download Transperth application for better understanding of Perth public transportation. Good eateries and several grocery shops are around the inn. Walk a bit and Queens Garden is just around the corner. Blossoming sweet smelling roses in spring. All in all, it's a good stay at Hay Street Inn

Best hostel in Perth for more serious travellers”

This would have to be the best hostel in Perth, esp. for long-term travelers who are looking for a quiet place to get well-deserved rest in between travels. I stayed in a single room, which was the cheapest I could find in the entire state. The internet is excellent here, which is a huge plus and actually quite a rare find in Australia. The manager is extremely friendly and helpful, and gave me a lot of great advice when I first got here. There is a free CAT bus right outside the door, which can take you all over the city for free. The hostel is in a quiet location, away from the party scene (although it is still relatively close-by and easy to walk there if you want to go out), so you can get a good sleep every night. Bathrooms are clean. The room has everything I need: bed, closet/locker and a desk+ chair. I love everything about this hostel! When I am in Perth and need accommodation, I will always choose to stay here! Thank you to all staff who have made my stay wonderful <3

SUPERB LOCATION”

Superb location. The free RED CAT bus stops in front of inn. And the airport bus 380 stops just a road across, 5 minutes walk to inn. 15 mins walk to PERTH CBD, Barrack St. Jetty and Elizabeth Quay. Chinese restaurant next door and mini market 2 doors away. Plenty of chinese, japanese, korean, arab, italian restaurants within walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. They also provide cooking facilities. You are also provided cutlery, plates, cups, fork, spoon and knife and big fridge to store your fresh food, so convenient, you can do your own cooking. We make a lot of friends during breakfast and dinner time when the guests all cook their food in the big kitchen. Highly recommended and well worth the money.

stayed for 3 nights at the double room with private bathroom. I'd say the check-in process was smooth, the Taiwanese girl in charge there was friendly and nice to deal with. towels were given upon request. due to our early flight the following day, we were allowed to put our luggage at the receptionist counter until 9pm. it was really a pleasant stay here. suitable for couple and friends travelling in group. cooking was allowed. eateries , bottlemart, RedCat bus stand, Bayswater & Aries Car Rental companies and convenient store are nearby. If you were lost, please Waze Hay Street East Car Park and it will bring you to the inn. will definitely stay here again for the upcoming trip.

Great value for money”

Amazing value for money in an otherwise expensive city. My single room may not have been 5* luxury but neither was the price. The room was small but sufficient. The shared bathroom were never occupied when I needed them. It was very easy to get here from the airport on the bus. Come out of the front door turn right a few doors down and you have a small supermarket that sells freshly made sandwiches which were cheap but delicious. Perth as a city wasn't for me, but if I ever return I would stay here again due to the amazing value for money.

great location”

Got a single room. The space is just fine if you dont bring a large luggage. Location was great, lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Near the Carlton stop of the free red cat bus which takes you around the city. The guys at the front desk were so helpful and friendly. Going to and from the airport was easy by riding bus 380 ($4.90) and the stop was near bennet street, just walking distance away from the inn. 1st night I was itching like crazy prob because of mosquitoes. Towels need to pay $2 and wifi another $2 which is limited to one device. Cutleries $10 deposit but you get it back if you returned the full set of cutleries. The toilets dont have a bidet and must bring your own toiletries. They dont have daily linen change. Luggage storage also cost $2. All in all, location was good cause I could just walk from London Court, Perth Library, Elizabeth Quay and St mary’s cathedral back to the inn.

Reasonable price for its value”

I was staying at Hay Street Traveller's Inn for 3 nights. It was an Okay hostel in a good location surrounded by restaurants and grocery stores, with the free bus stop at the opposite, very convenient to travel to CBD. The service itself was good, the receptionists were nice and helpful. The room itself, however, was dirty with dust and some small pieces of trash. The bathrooms were nice though. Free wi-fi is only good in the common area and the kitchen. I'd recommend anyone to this hostel because of its value and price.

excellent location for budget travelers. From the airport bus No. 380 costs AUD4.20 and drops you off at Adelaide terrace which is just parallel to Hay Street. Then going to CBD is a breeze with Red CAT bus stop No. 5 just across the Inn on Hay St itself. Had the double room with attached shower and sink. Clean bed with a cupboard, table and chair. Towel for free but no toiletries. Toilet just outside the door. Swimming pool handy for the summer. free wifi, kitchen for self catering and tables to eat. Billabong is mesy dirty noisy poor svc and young people who living here don't want to clean up after use. The service from hay street travel is really nice, every one housekeeping after use and make sure clean up everything. Feel very comfortable to stay hay same as my house.
