Great Location and Affordable Place to Stay”
Location. Hayahay is right in the middle of the short Alona Beach where you can spend the night away or find a great deal for seafood. It is also easy to find. Facilities and Service. The room offered to us has more than the basic necessities (I mean they go a little extra for guests which was great!). I requested for a twin bed which they arranged quite fine, bed was neither soft nor hard - subjectively (maybe in between? but others might find the bed as hard). There were hangers and an open closet, under the closet you would find some extra things you might need like blankets. The housekeeper makes sure to replenish everything everyday without fail, and she cleans the room as well (so we come back to our cleaned room everyday after our tour/activity). We're quite happy with it! Restaurant. I think I like this the most in Hayahay Resort. Since we already stay in this place, my friend and I decided to just skip their restaurant. However, we find the seafood in Hayahay most fresh than others, so we ended up eating our meals here almost everyday! Pricing is generally the same with other restaurants. My fiend and I have decided that this place is recommendable in a sense that it is affordable and accessible to so many things in Alona Beach, Panglao.
Very good place to stay at Alona Beach”
The 5N in Jan 2019 at Hayahay, were a very pleasant stay. From the very first moment of pre-arrival contacts, until departure, the staff was all friendly, responsive to any questions, helpful and: Honest! (Once I wanted to pay for (excellent) breakfast, but missed some loosely stored banknotes, and the staff would run after me to return the 2x1000 Peso notes, that accidentially slipped out the pocket under the table! So honest, despite 2000 ₽ would mean a lot of money for low paid Filipinos. Hayahay is situated right beach front, and like all other beachfront hotels of this beach section, there is no road, but for the last 150m from taxi drop off you will have to drag your luggage over sandy ground. Assistance by hotel staff provided on request, but not really needed, as the sand on the path is solid. Yes, it will be a bit noisy from music coming from neighboring venues, but never was big issue, and would mute by 11 pm for good sleep. If you don't like it lively, you should avoid Alona Beach at all. The rooms are small, even the Deluxe rooms, almost tiny, and miss a balcony. But they are spotless clean, and have all kinds of thoughtful amenities. Silent Aircon, good fridge, 2 bottles of free drinking water per day. Loved the small signs in the room like "If the matress is too hard for you, that can be changed, talk to the staff" Unfortunately the WiFi signal in both the room as well as the restaurant was very weak (most of the time between 0-2 bars, and slow), so that I used most of the time my own data Simcard for doing internet research and planning trips. The restaurant provides, next to great breakfast from the large menu (loved french breakfast w/ hot Croissants and brewed cofffee, plus fresh fruit platter), also great food for lunch and dinner. Fish was always fresh catch of the day. Loved the option, to get lunch packed for day trips on island tours, diving and so on. Would I book with Hayahay again, if happens to return to Alona Beach? Yes! And so I would l
Wonderful little place, excellent value”
My fiance and I just stayed here in November 2014 for 4 nights. Great little resort, perfect location, room size fine, A/C worked very well and was VERY quiet, also had a big American-style ceiling fan. Staff very helpful and courteous. Excellent shower, big, plenty of hot water. Bed was a little firm, normal for a thick foam mattress, but we slept very comfortably. TV worked well, plenty of channels. Ate dinner here on the beach 3 nights, excellent meals, had grilled shrimp, soup, Thai, fish, salads, pizza, all prepared very well with generous portions. And great margaritas! Had breakfast only 1 time (they open for breakfast at 7:30, too late for us most days), breakfast was top-notch too. Room was very clean, gave us new towels and made bed every day. Other reviews I read complained about smelly towels and smelly water, we did not observe either. Towels were plush and clean, high quality. Understand this is NOT a 5-star resort and it is the Philippines, do not expect the Hyatt Regency in Maui. But, for it's star rating and being in the PI, adjust your expectations and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. We would definitely stay here again. BTW, there were NO mosquitoes on Panglao Island.
right on the beach with easy access to everything”
Our stay was very enjoyable. We originally were staying at two places...first in Panglao Island and the second in Anda, but the Anda location turned out to be way too isolated for us, so we looked back on Agoda and found the Hayahay Resort sitting right on the beach. It was just what we needed. It was located right in the middle of everything on the beach. We were very happy with our decision to return to Alona Beach, and the Hayahay Resort was the best decision we made during our entire vacation. Also the staff were very nice and accomodating, and it was very good to finally have hot water in the shower because the first two places we stayed didn't.
Lovely place to stay in Alona Beach”
Hayahay resort is beachfront in Alona Beach, Tawala. Just a few minutes walk from the drop off/pick up point if you hire a private car or tricycle. We occupied room#1 which is connected to a balcony that seems private to us. We can open the curtains beside our bed's headboard and we can see the sea from there....very beautiful indeed. Room has safety vault, minibar, mirror, ceiling fan and cable TV has many channels. I wish they provided slippers for room use. Good that we brought the disposable slippers from our previous hotel. Also I missed the bidet. I believe that the toilet has it when I booked the property but when we got there, there was none. We did not eating there but food seems delicious by the smell of it. The cozy restaurant downstairs will give guests and visitors a very nice view of the sea while having their meals. Will I stay again? Yes, but please bring back the bidet and provide slippers. :)
Beachfront property with superb service”
Hayahay resort is probably the best of its kind that I have stayed at thus far. From its location to its friendly and professional staff, staying in this resort makes vacation in Panglao stress-free and much more enjoyable. The rooms rates are also a steal given the quality of service provided. The staffmembers are always ready to provide help with a smile, and even some of them could carry on basic conversations in German, a plus point for all the Europeans visiting the place. The room I stayed in was perfectly laid out giving a sense of calm. The room furnishings and amenities may appear understated, but upon closer inspection, they are actually of high quality that could beat a lot of big name hotels in Cebu and Manila. The only thing that could be improved would be the restaurant's menu. The food selection is very much European/continental, which doesnt give local/Filipino travellers/guests a lot of options.
We stayed in 3 different beachfront resorts in Alona Beach - Lost Horizon, Hayahay Resort & Baywatch Dive Resort - at almost the same prices and I was only satisfied with Hayahay Resort. Their rooms are well-maintained, clean and the facilities are working well. The location is also great. Their beachfront is one of the best along the Alona Beach stretch.
Great pleace to stay in Bohol”
for the price this place seemed like a great deal. room was great, ac worked like any other hotel i've been to, nice big windows with some sea view but mostly palms. overall i had a great stay here and when looking around i did not see much reason to get a sea view. most of bohol has palm trees in front of the view :) so really open sea views are not available at 90% of the places from what i could see. room was very clean, bathroom great for 2 people, in room treats relatively inexpensive. dive show was inexpensive and seemed perfectly acceptable interms of safety and experience levels. nick was my dive guide and he did a great job getting me back up to speed on things since it had been a while since my last dive. i ate at the hotel almost every night, well in fact every night :) it was good, it was inexpensive, it was on the beach, and i could bill it to my room and not have to use cash. they made a killing off of me. and the more dishes i tried off the menu the more i liked it. the coffee shakes are awesome. the med pizza was just ok the large looked better in terms of dough thickness and toppings. overall i thought in every respect the hotel was 8.5 or better and then factor in that it was $50 a night? a great deal in my opinion. i will stay here if i come back to bohol. also the wireless there was worthless. please get that fixed!!!! ;)
Great Room and Location on the Beach”
we decided to go to bohol from cebu one morning and book at hayahay the afternoon we arrived. the staff checked us in and showed us our room. room was cozy, but clean - bathroom clean with towels and soap available. internet (wireless)was available in the room - ask for a code upon check in. the resort is right on the beach so as soon as you walk out the restaurants and bars or in reach and the ocean is five steps away. we would have extended our stay here, however, they were booked full for the next five days! great place to stay and rather cheap!
Great budget hotel!”
Hayahay Hotel is just the right kind of hotel for travellers like me who just wants to have a comfortable, clean, well-ventilated, secure, and budget-friendly room to stay in. I felt that my things will be safe whenever I leave the room, room gets easily cold when I get in, the shower is working well, you can also sleep well at night because you won't hear any loud "bar" songs. When you go down the room, yummy foor is readily available for consumption and the beach is just a right in front of the hotel. Staff has been accommodating and entertained our requests and questions. I can trully recommend this hotel for people who will be visiting Bohol!
Good Hotel in Prime Location. ”
Located right on Alona Beach, Hayahay Resort is close to the launch points of the snorkeling and dolphin watching boats. A scuba shop is just next door, with the scuba diving boats leaving from in front of Hayahay. Yes, as some here observed, you need to walk along the beach for about 150-200 meters to get to the entrance. But, since you need to walk to get to anything on the beach anyway, so what. The accommodations were fine, especially the very firm mattresses. There is a restaurant on the ground floor. My partner and I ate there a few times. The food is good enough; nowhere we ate at on Alona Beach was all that great. Hayahay was on par with the other places we ate at. In sum, great location and good accommodations, especially for the price.
Great Location, nice Beach, many Activities”
Hayahay is a small hotel, just 11 rooms. But its located directly at the beach! For eating / drinking, tables and chairs are in the sand, so you can enjoy a relaxed time, watching around the beach, the ships. There are many activities offered, such as Dolphin watching, Island hopping, Island trips with many attractions and Tourist Spots. The rooms are not that large, but convenient, clean, silent and well equipped. The staff is very friendly, helpful. The kitchen isn't that impressive, maybe they changed the chef? For smokers there are ashtrays outside, but should be emptied sometimes. No swimming Pool, but a nice roof terrace! Overall, its affordable, and I can really recommend that hotel.
Perfect spot to enjoy Alona Beach”
We had a comfortable stay at Hayahay Resort. It is conveniently located along Alona Beach with easy access to a variety of restaurants and tour agents. The room had a decent aircon and a fan. The room was cleaned daily. The staff were friendly and helpful. The meals at the restaurant located within the resort were good and well-priced.
Great Place to Chillax”
The reason I booked with Hayahay Resort is because the beach is right in front of the hotel. That was really cool and the view was really great. Location was perfect and value for money. I will be honest and compare to its competitor who had better sunbed with big umbrella they just had sunbed only. Another thing I would like to point is that they give you key to open the door and unfortunately in my case the key broke in 1 go and it was not intentional and they said I would need to pay 200 peso which was not right and I am not saying it is a lot but that's was really bad from them.
Very good room. Some services lacking”
Enjoyed a 3 night stay at Hayahay Alone Beach. Room was large, clean and quiet, and everything worked as it should, except the wifi. Good shower, plenty of towels and very comfortable bed. 1. Wifi was terrible to the point of being barely useable. This may have been the provider's fault. Nonetheless, if that's the case, perhaps they need to change their provider or just pay for a better service from the existing provider. 2. On our first morning there we had breakfast in the restaurant. Although the coffee was okay, I only got less than 1/2 of what a normal cup of coffee would be, and no refills were forthcoming. Just terrible. I found out that the coffee is dispensed from an automatic machine. Come on Hayahay. Do your customers a service and at least provide adequate coffee.. The rest of the breakfast was nothing special but adequate. We found better breakfasts elsewhere. 3. 5% surcharge if using VISA. Terrible practice. That alone is enough to make me reconsider.
Best on Alona Beach!”
We had the only room with view (room nr 1) and also had our litte terasse so we are very happy. Other in our party had room nr2 (view to the backside) and some on the first floor (could not see anything and felt a bit claustrofobic). The rooms are a bit small but you have everything you need, fan, aircon, minibar, tv (as you need a tv..). Its very clean and they clean the room and change towels everyday. The staff is extremly friendly. You live directly on the best part of the beach and just next to the best restaurants on Alona, Oopsbar. Hayahay also have free sunchairs. Next time i go to Alona i stay on Hayahay!
Nice beachfront hotel with friendly staff”
we went to hayahay with a group of friends last march 2011. the hotel has a nice location at the front of alona beach. there were three of us so we went ahead and paid for an extra bed. other than that the rest of the room was great. the staff were very helpful and accommodating. this is a sharp contrast to the earlier reviews of this hotel. this tells us that they seem to respond positively on feedback. there were also reviews that the mattress of the main bed was hard (this is true but i am ok with it). however, i noticed in the front desk that there is a notice related to this and guests can advise the hotel staff if they want a softer matress. the beach directly in front of hayahay is great and after swimming a couple hundred of meters you will see nice coral reefs.
"great location, great room, great package! "”
overall, had a really nice stay at hayahay resort! was impressed on how nice our room and bathroom was even if the bed was a little stiff. i will definitely book a room again at hayahay! it was a piece of heaven for those beach bums and soul searchers like me! :)
Great service! - treating you like @ home”
Service was excellent. I arranged everything via email before arrival, just dealing with the hotel staff. They took care of everything and throughout our stay at the hotel, they were always accommodating all our requests and helping us out in all we wanted to do within the island. If I had to go back to Panglao, I will certainly stay here again. Price is good for what you get, rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, hotel is clean, food is good.
Highly recommended for scuba divers”
This was my first stay on Alona beach, and I would not hesitate to book with the Hayahay again. All the staff were friendly, and the resort provides the fastest and most reliable internet I have ever experienced on a diving trip. This is due primarily to the fact that Panglao is not an isolated island.
