Great location, amenities are liveable but there’s always room for improvement”
Stayed here with a group of 5 friends in July 2019. We were allocated rooms 8 and 10. PROS: - location is sooo good. Right on the beachfront and near nice restaurants like oasis restaurant and Bohol bee farm restaurant branch. The prettiest beach in Bohol is probably still dumulan beach and alona beach doesn’t match up but it’s cheap CONS: -Room 8 was all the way at the corner end of the corridor and it seemed like mosquitoes liked to hangout outside our roomdoor in the corner, hence we got a lot of mosquitoes in the room. However those in room 10 which is in the middle of the corridor had no problems with mosquitoes. So request for a room NOT at the end of the corridor. (Room 7 and 8) -you cannot see the beach from your room. advertising as partial beach view is complete nonsense unless you get room 1 - their sun deck was under renovation when we were there -no hairdryer
Basically paying for location only”
The location is basically the only thing you're paying for. It really is a beachfront property, and it's in the heart of Alona Beach. As for the cleanliness, the room was clean, but nothing truly special. They do clean the room every day, and they change the towels. The staff were okay, nothing truly special. They didn't greet us whenever we would come to the reception. I remember one of the staff, a woman in her 30's-40's maybe... I asked her about the massage room rates. She insisted that the price list is in our room, but really, it wasn't. She was also extremely disinterested in answering our questions, bordering on being impolite. She basically dismissed our inquiry on the massage room rates, and said "Basta, iba ang rates namin sa rates ng sa labas. Alam na nila yon." ("Our rates are different from the rates they offer outside. They already know that.") Anyway, not much warmth from the staff, except from the gay receptionist who was nice to us. The rest of them don't even smile at us... Girls, you are in the field of hospitality. Learn a thing or two about it. The facilities are old and a bit rundown. Aircon was excellent though, so that's a plus. The "large bed" is basically two twin beds joined together. There is a mini-fridge and a vault. The shower has hot water. Wish you could provide with a bidet, though. Or if you can't provide a bidet, at least provide a tabo (dipper). Would I rebook in Hayahay? Probably. It's still value for money, but with A LOT of room for improvement!
Location is good, just in front of beach. Found some sand on our bed upon check in but overall cleanliness is good. Staffs are friendly and accomodating. Cozy and warm ambiance, perfect for a beach vacation.
Cheap hotel for the location. No wifi. Hotel outdated. ”
When we arrived the wifi was not working. After a complain and almost leave they decided to let a company come to fix the wifi. The next day they fixed it and the wifi was working but even for Philippines very slow. Can’t do anything with this slow speed. Every other location around here has a better wifi connection. So if you really need wifi don’t book here. If don’t need wifi it’s good specially for the price. Probably I come back again and use wifi in a bar our restaurant close by if I need it. The hotel and rooms are outdated so don’t expect a modern room. But again the hotel is good for the price.
Great Location although foods are a bit expensive”
Great value for money. The location is pefect. Beachfront situated and everything is just a walk away. Did not bother to book any other rooms on my last night stay I just extended my stay here. Food though is a bit expensive, you may to try any other place for food.
Nice location, beach front. Close to restaurants and night life. Walking distance from the main road. They have big room and allowed us to do early check in without extra cost.
Hotel location was great, right by the beach. Room is spacious and clean, towels a bit old but smells clean. We didn't hear the noises from the live band as some review says, must only be applicable to other rooms.
Lovely place to stay in Alona Beach”
Hayahay resort is beachfront in Alona Beach, Tawala. Just a few minutes walk from the drop off/pick up point if you hire a private car or tricycle. We occupied room#1 which is connected to a balcony that seems private to us. We can open the curtains beside our bed's headboard and we can see the sea from there....very beautiful indeed. Room has safety vault, minibar, mirror, ceiling fan and cable TV has many channels. I wish they provided slippers for room use. Good that we brought the disposable slippers from our previous hotel. Also I missed the bidet. I believe that the toilet has it when I booked the property but when we got there, there was none. We did not eating there but food seems delicious by the smell of it. The cozy restaurant downstairs will give guests and visitors a very nice view of the sea while having their meals. Will I stay again? Yes, but please bring back the bidet and provide slippers. :)
Very good room. Some services lacking”
Enjoyed a 3 night stay at Hayahay Alone Beach. Room was large, clean and quiet, and everything worked as it should, except the wifi. Good shower, plenty of towels and very comfortable bed. 1. Wifi was terrible to the point of being barely useable. This may have been the provider's fault. Nonetheless, if that's the case, perhaps they need to change their provider or just pay for a better service from the existing provider. 2. On our first morning there we had breakfast in the restaurant. Although the coffee was okay, I only got less than 1/2 of what a normal cup of coffee would be, and no refills were forthcoming. Just terrible. I found out that the coffee is dispensed from an automatic machine. Come on Hayahay. Do your customers a service and at least provide adequate coffee.. The rest of the breakfast was nothing special but adequate. We found better breakfasts elsewhere. 3. 5% surcharge if using VISA. Terrible practice. That alone is enough to make me reconsider.
Great place, nice room, quiet aircon, delicious pizzas. ”
Our room was very quiet, as the rooms are located in the back. So if you like to relax, but be close to the beach, this is the perfect place to be. We enjoyed the pizzas and the seafood. Unfortunately no credit cards accepted, only cash.
The one and only advantage is location ”
The location is really good , as it just located at the beach . However , the room is big but old , no toiletries provided . If you need hair dryer , you need to rent it from the staff, and you need to pay for it . And when we need the staff to help us to call the local restaurant to make a booking , they ask for money as well .
Bang on the beach ”
This hotel is perhaps the best value for money on that beach.. The standard of rooms for the price is far superior to others in the vicinity. The staff is friendly, helpful, polite and fairly efficient. Breakfast included is good for the price.. Not a buffet but served freshly made and hot. The location is bang on the beach so naturally one can't ask for more if you're there to soak in the sun. There's the Sierra Madre Dive Shop next door and that makes it wonderful if you're a diver. It's a wonderful outfit. All in all I'd stay no place else if I ever went back to Alona Beach
Very good place to stay”
The ambiance is really good for foreighners. The room have good scent, very spacious and clean especially the comfort room. They clean it whenever we were out for tour. Each day they change the towels and conplimentary drinks. Very accomodating staff. Good food for pizza and more.
Great Location and Affordable Place to Stay”
Location. Hayahay is right in the middle of the short Alona Beach where you can spend the night away or find a great deal for seafood. It is also easy to find. Facilities and Service. The room offered to us has more than the basic necessities (I mean they go a little extra for guests which was great!). I requested for a twin bed which they arranged quite fine, bed was neither soft nor hard - subjectively (maybe in between? but others might find the bed as hard). There were hangers and an open closet, under the closet you would find some extra things you might need like blankets. The housekeeper makes sure to replenish everything everyday without fail, and she cleans the room as well (so we come back to our cleaned room everyday after our tour/activity). We're quite happy with it! Restaurant. I think I like this the most in Hayahay Resort. Since we already stay in this place, my friend and I decided to just skip their restaurant. However, we find the seafood in Hayahay most fresh than others, so we ended up eating our meals here almost everyday! Pricing is generally the same with other restaurants. My fiend and I have decided that this place is recommendable in a sense that it is affordable and accessible to so many things in Alona Beach, Panglao.
Great place, good location and superb food. Wifi sometimes drops, maybe due to amount of people who seem unable to converse with their partner or friend cos they are more interested in following the trials and tribulations of reality TV "stars" online! Beautiful beach and nice selection of tables and sun loungers, unless the free loading scroungers "gazzump" you once you have set every thing up for a days lounging.... Thoroughly reccomend! Enjoy the band playing next door every night!
Great value, location, and eats!”
This place had everything I was looking for, a reasonably priced place in the middle of everything. You step right from your hotel onto the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff, friendly. Shower had good pressure and hot water. The hotel restaurant was reasonably priced for the location and the food was great. We traveled with some discerning eaters who loved the prawns here. Only issue might have been that the aircon didn't seem powerful enough to cool the room. This wasn't a problem because the temps weren't bad when we were there, but had it been hot outside, it might have been an issue.
Stress-free, relaxing and enjoyable”
This is the second time I am staying at Hayahay, and I was right booking my stay here with friends. Beach-front, very secure, good food, although the staff seem to be less friendly than the first time. They seem tired (or still sleepy) at breakfast time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Will book there again.
Relaxing view of the ocean”
Hayahay means relaxing and we really did have a good time. They have nice big rooms with great ocean view. Very relaxing in the evening where you could dine al fresco by the beach. They have 2 free complimentary bottled water. Fast check ins and out.
Small "resort" with friendly service ”
the place was a little small, with no swimming pool, and only accessible from the beach after a 50 meter walk from the access road (a little tiresome with heavy bags during check-in and check-out). service was good and friendly. the soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower ran out on our last day....luckily we brought our own to compliment. i guess you need to ask them to top it off as they don't check it. fresh towels everyday was nice. water pressure was sporadic. sometimes ok, sometimes hardly anything, always a hint of salt. restaurant was ok. pizza's were good! breakfast just so-so (no bacon, and no refillable brewed coffee option). head over to lost horizon for a better breakfast wasn't our first choice, but everywhere else was booked solid for chinese new years. overall we were satisfied with the stay. wish we had opted to spend more time elsewhere though (alona beach versus siquijor...more a location preference, not so much a dig at the hotel).
Lovely boutique hotel with the beach in front”
I went there with my girl friend & we stayed at this hotel. At the end of the trip, we were together. I have to thanks the cosy hotel for helping me clinich the deal. This hotel is located at the heart of the places where all the main activities are carried out at Bohol. There are pubs all around us & food can be easily found as we walked out of the hotel. The only down side is that since it is the beach, the hotel can get abit sandy...Oh yah, the hotel don't have cold water & sometime the strength of the bathing water is eratic. Surprisely the channels on the TV are very complete even thought we don't have much time to watch TV there.
