Stylish hotel, great service”
There are two Heartland Hotels in Fox Glacier and we went to the wrong one first (not aware there were two). Apparently only one is kept open when the season is slow. My sister and I each had a queen size bed in our shared room. Restaurant served lovely meals. Staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access available near restaurant. Only negative was that no porter was available when we were leaving and there is no lift.

Clean room ”
Located right in the center of Fox Glacier township. We got a room on the ground floor facing the backyard and a restaurant which open late everyday. Be prepared for some noise. Footsteps from the room above can be heard clearly. If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet hotel this is not the one. Bed is comfy though. Room size a bit small. I would give 6/10 for this hotel

John form Australia”
Very enjoyable and comfortable stay, good location in town, good restaurant. The staff gave excellent advice to view the glacier which we would not have known, and was the icing on the cake. We left our rain jackets behind and to the staff (Umesh) it was not a problem, and made several trips to the PO to send them back to Australia. You can not ask for better service than that!!

In front of bus stop, close to everything”
I cannot think of anything to complain about heartland hotel. It is located right in front of bus stop and beside grocery which is very convenient for travellers traveling by bus. Room is clean and beds are comfy. Just a tip, if you are traveling with a trolley luggage, it would be good to request for a room at the ground floor or you have to climb the stairs. Laundy facility is available for 2nzd per wash, considerably cheap compared to other hostels. Highly recommended.

Great customer service....standard basic rooms”
Sufficient rooms for an overnight stay. Nothing flash but was clean with comfortable beds. We arrived too early for checkin but the reception staff member went above her way to help check us in early. Excellent location if you are doing the fox glacier hike,

Fox Glacier Country Hotel”
Overall it was a good experience. Quiet and off the beaten path. There was a staff Christmas party the night we stayed. Not a big deal, but trying to eat dinner in the lodge and hearing the partying up top was a bit distracting. Couldn't access email because by the time the party was over, the computer access was locked up for the night. Great room, though. Plenty of space for personal items. Room stayed warm and toasty throughout the night from the radiator heater. Loved the view of the backpacker accommodation behind us. Very lovely! Good access to the glaciers and shopping, food, etc. along the main street. Thank you!

Disappointing”
Our stay in Fox Glacier was marred by this motel,the room was small & not thoroughly cleaned. Main door unlockable. Charged for Wifi. No reception after 10am!

Very tired looking rooms”
We stayed one night and the hotel is well located across from the fox glacier trekking company. The rooms date from the 1950's approx and look like they have never been updated. Very old electrical fittings, bathroom very old as well.

Good clean accommodation in central Fox ”
Nice hotel and was very clean. Rooms a bit small but functional. Very good bed. Everything in this town is within close proximity so as long as you're central to town everything oz accessible.

Old hotel at a good location”
This hotel looked nice from outside but was very dated (two separate taps for hot and cold water). carpets, curtains etc seemed old too. Rooms had a double and a single bed with a small fridge and kettle. There is a newer heartland hotel across this hotel which seemed better.

Great location but has seen better days”
On being given our room, so much did not work, the heater knob fell off, the TV did not work. The beds were old. The plug on the wall was loose and did not work. The room was clean and the staff helpful. We were moved to another room. However even in this room the facilities were old. The building, its facilities, the carpets and decor were old. The Hotel was in bad need of an upgrade. Given the price we paid, it was well overpriced. We had paid and had much nicer accommodation. We suggest they are cashing in on the location as little else is available.

Rough & ready but clean ”
Room is clean but very very dated . Bed was uncomfortable after a day hiking some extra comfort would have eased some of the pain. Shower had a mind of its own but once the temperature was mastered had great water pressure. Wifi didn't miss a beat and located within handy walking distance to everything .

Convenient locatiion ”
The hotel is located well for tourist attractions,however value for money in comparison to other accomodation it was very tired, and floor boards above creaking every time some one walked or moved. Windows didn't lock for security, couldn't park in car park. The bed was comfortable and clean

Not happy”
We booked an interconnected room with a very high rate(1.5 times more than twin room) to use but got a twin room. We also got breakfasts included but had to pay again on the spot. We would like a refund for the breakfasts and also the extra we paid for than the normal twin room.
