Excellent”
My husband and we're traveling thru Japan for 2 weeks and wanted to experience a ryokan. Staff was amazing, food was absolutely delicious. I am a vegetarian and they were so nice in accommodating my dietary restrictions. Only drawback is that the location is far from subways, but again, they were so kind in getting us a taxi.

A traditional Japanese experience with great attention to detail”
Outstanding service, great place with traditional garden and sauna/baths. Dinner is very especial being every dish a delicacy and served with total accuracy. A unique experience.

Refreshing Ryokan ”
Our room have a river view and constantly listening to the water flow. It was just fantastic. Bfast n dinner are just fantastic! On our 1st night, we had 9-course kaiseki and they're all good. The only regret was not spending enough time in the ryokan.

Feel like home of my childhood ”
Totally privacy, we felt like we are the only customers when we stay. Room is cozy, it's the traditional Japanese house but have all we need.
It's a family run hotel which has been though 400 years, the owner is the 21th generation. The traditional Japanese house is exactly the same as what I lived with my grandparents but more modernized. We stay here for only one night, but it's one of the great experience that we have. The traditional Japanese dining services and the cuisines are just like an art. We will definitely come back again for it.

Feeling a Japanese in Edo times”
The complex itself, the garden, the food
This ancient and traditional ryokan, which was one of the most popular tea houses in Old Kyoto, offers you a unique experience to relax and understand japanese culture and history. The place consists of several buildings (some of them old) with rooms connected bu a garden with a pond with carps, trees and bamboos. Rooms face to the river, so you get the sound of the water all time long. Traditional rooms are clean, comfortable and the hotel offers many food delicacies. regarding the bath, the house has a rare traditional japanese sauna which looks like a pizza oven. It is an experience to lay naked on a tatami with a porcelain pillow feeling baked.

Lovely place to stay”
Location, Peaceful, Charming
Really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again. Only thing was I wasn't quite aware I had dinner & breakfast included in my cost but not sure whether this was an error in my checking the booking or a miscommunication elsewhere.
