good Hostel ”
i stayed there for 2nights.all the Things was good. But just a little bit loud outside of street during the day,but it's ok for me.thx for all the things ,the workers are very friendly.next time when I go to bkk,I will sleep there too:)
it's a good hostel, the worker there very friendly ,and the room is also clean, just a little bit noisy outside of street, but it doesn't matter. If I go to bangkok again,I'll sleep there again.and Thx for all the things. Yixue :)
please read my previous reviews on hello hostel. It was cheap but filthy.one thing i will mention to fellow travellers do not go to the bar in the next road tn rambuttri.I and a few of my companions drinking there got ripped off buying beer there.Gave the guy a 500 tbh note and he gave us change of a 100 tbh note.when we remonstrated with the owner about it he asked us to leave and not come back.great customer service lol.Of course we were happy to comply with that.
filthy dirty hot”
it was extremely hot in the dorms the fans didnt oscillate properly.the tolets were absolutely filthy. The staff were apathetic and not interested in customer service. We had a shared bathroom toilet blocked with faeces had to tell the staff 2-3 occassions to come un block it before it all overflowed onto the floor.Wouldnt recommend unless you like things a bit rough.
Met my expectations, room is very comfortable with good air ventilation, was worried about hostels because of that but this one is one of the best out there in bangkok. Initially took 2 days only before heading to another hostel but extended 3 more days at hello hostel! 2-3 minute walk to khaosan too so its definitely a plus. Will return again.
Great Internet connection, great location”
It was actually fun. Too fun, people might say. Although I can't really blame the hotel for what happened, but I'm still going to tell on what happened. On our first day in Bangkok, the room we checked into was clean, we were ecstatic when our phones connected to the network without hitches, and the hot water really helped us get cleaned up. That night though, at around 4am, people came into the room, either they used a key or the last person who came into the room forgot to lock the door. They started having S3x on one of the top bunks where someone was actually sleeping (or tried to sleep) underneath. Needless to say, we had people who were unable to get a good night's rest. LOL After doing the dirty deed, they left, but when I got up at around 5-ish, I was fully sitting on the bed, working away on my computer while the connection was superb, when the door opened again and someone came running in and went into the bathroom. What I saw in a millisecond was a naked arse. The naked person shat and I was just hoping that he'll leave as soon as he came in, but after he flushed, (he still didn't see me sitting up) he went around to someone from my group and drank from their water bottle, then left the room. When I told the guys who were staying with us later that night about the incident, their reactions were so precious. We all agreed it was kinda scary and disgusting, but we found it funnier, so we just laughed it off. Oh what an experience.
Just another hostel”
dirty rooms. kinda smelly a bit when i was there. the bathrooms were dirty. and there was this guy in my room that went out barefooted and came back late drunk all night. so the bathrooms and room floors were extra dirty. i know its cheap. but they could at least clean and remove things previous travellers left behind. the place is kinda noisy especially at night. sometimes car alarms misfire. dont stay here if loud noises get on your nerves.
Good hostel, close to khaosan road ”
Tuk tuk couldn't find the hostel but he asked locals and we found it in te end. Clean rooms. Close to the touristy areas but quiet enough to sleep and cheap. Staff struggled to communicate with language barrier and one woman in particular very rude, but no big deal. Reviews said it was dark and dingy but we were only there at night so we didn't notice it. Booked to stay again for one night in April.
Terrible, the stairs are dangerous and loose the shower was not hot, the air con was in the wrong position and didn't cool the room the door could be opened when locked?? The other people where loud and banging with nothing done. The staff were rude uninterested and unhelpful. And the price was ridiculous considering.
very average hostel.”
they charge 799 bhat for a pigeon nest where the shower with a gyser gives you cold water, bathroom drains are clogged and once u step out of your room, the smell makes you feel crazy.Definitely not for a couple...... wifi is so so.... overall 5/10 ....
placed on quiet lane khaosan rd”
i quite confuse to find the location for first time came to khaosan road, because the hostel doesnt gave me estimate appropriate trough location after asked so many people, i found the place in quiet lane near khaosan road. Trough the problem, i really satisfied since the toilet is clean event no tissue and the staff is available 24 hours respectively. Tuktuk is the simplifier transportation in front of the hostel but bus and taxi still operate in the main street.
It was just what I exoedted. Next to Khao San and Rambutti, but 0 noise! Clean... More or less, here in Thailand cheap places are always more or less clean hahaha. But I'm not going to lick the floor alnd walls. The bed was oerfectly clean and tidy. Wanted to exoend there one more night but couldnt! And the best! The friends my room mates! From Thailand and Singapur!
good enough. my friend ruined my stay”
It's not that bad. best part is it's located just a few minutes from Khao San Road so it's easy to go there but you won't be bothered by it's noise during your sleep. The staff were OK-friendly. Cons: The door lock for the dormitory fan room is busted. Also, there's a hole on the ceiling of the toilet the around 1 cm diameter. And you can see light through it. The heater for the shower in the toilet doesn't work but there's another shower that works. Added to that, my friend ruined my stay when he decided to throw the container of his sweet drink in the bathroom trash bin. Big red ants started to trail the area and unfortunately for me, my bed was on there way. Hence, there were ants on my bed, in my shoes and on my bag (there's a locker but I placed my bag beside my bed for convenience). So it was really horrible. Furthermore, it wasn't until the third day before the cleaned the bathroom but the ants never left. I stayed there for 8 days so you can imagine the agony. If I did not prepay my booking I would have transferred to the hostel nearby which is a lot better with free breakfast for a price of just 20 Baht more.
There is no difference in the A/C and fan room.”
The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was gross and there was no difference in temperature between the A/C room and the fan room. Was really annoyed by that because obviously the A/C room costs more but is just as hot as the room with just the fans.
cheapest and worst! lol”
well. it's fare enough. price is really cheap and close to main road! if you don't mind dirty and unkind staff..and if you are looking for a just "place for sleeping" lol the old woman who own that hostel, she is really really unkind! for sure! lol
Dirty, unfriendly staff, close to khao san”
From check in i found the lady at the desk to be very unhappy. She told me the rules and regulations then slammed the key down infront of me. The beds in the dorm were okay althought the bathroom was very dirty and smelled. For an extra 2 or 300 baht you can find a nicer place with a Tv, clean bathroom etc. I recommend you use the airport link train to Phaya Thai then a taxi, total cost of 120baht instread of 500baht for taxi the whole way.
Comfy, bathroom needs better cleaning”
It's a comfy bed for a few nights in BKK, near Th. Khaosan. Some of the staff were less than friendly, and helpful (but I didn't know much Thai.) The internet connection is a bit slow there. The bathroom needs to be cleaned more often! I'd saty there again, but not in the shared bathroom dorm.
clean, good for backpackers”
I booked Hello Hostel at the last minute and mainly booked it since it was just across the road from the hostel I was staying at the night before. I didnt find the staff too friendly but thats mainly because we had Thai/English communication problems. I booked a dorm room but because no one else was staying I had the room all too myself. Most importantly it is cheap and has air con which as a backpacker is all you need. Really close to Khao San as well for visiting the Grand Palace and all the Wats and has good shopping and nightlife options.
A walk away from everthing”
i decided not too take a taxi or tuktuk for the duration of my stay in bangkok so it was a challenge for me to look for this place. after getting of hua lamphong mrt station i took the bus going to khao san road. it was almost a 40minute travel because of the traffic. after getting of the bus, i asked some thais and thankfully i was directed to the right place. its like a 5 minute walk from khao san road. at the end of the street. the big hello hostel sign is very visible so its impossible for you to miss it. . i actually stayed in an 8 person dorm room, and during that time there were only 3 of us, the room is quite ok, 2 bathrooms in a room so no problem who goes first.
Got what I expected, no more no less.”
The hostel is located in a very good location to start your tour of the old Bangkok. Temples and palaces are no more than 5 mins taxi ride. The dorm is clean enough. It was not too busy during my stay so the shared bathroom is ok.
