The stay in general was OK, room was clean and staff were helpful. However, I had a bad check-in experience. We had 2 bookings for 3 nights stay as we extended our stay in Kyoto. Prior to us arriving, I exchanged emails with the hotel and were told that they would combine both bookings into 1 so that we could check-in for 3 consecutive nights. It was not done when we check-in and had to wait for the staff to get it done. After which, we were given a room that totally did not meet any of my request, even though there was available room that could meet 1 of my key requests. Staff on site did their best to help and I really appreciate. Perhaps this hotel may be more suitable for those who have no request for rooms.

If you check in in advance, you can just scan the QR code guided by the dinosaur to receive your key! The location is less than a 5-minute walk from the Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station. Don Quijote and Aeon Mall are also within walking distance. The rooms are clean, and it's nice that the bathtub and toilet are separate! The bathtub is not small either. I felt good that the cleaning staff greeted me. You can kill time in the lobby, and there's a convenience store nearby, so I want to stay again! The dinosaurs are cute and comforting. ^ ^

The room itself was functional but felt slightly dated compared to the modern tech theme in the lobby. It was clean and comfortable enough for a short stay, but could benefit from some refurbishment to match the futuristic vibe. The hotel is just across from Kyoto Station and very ideal for those who travel with several luggage. The facility comes with locker on the ground floor. We had to do our own check-in and check-out through the machine as there were no one at the reception. The process was a breeze. If you encounter any problem or need any housekeeping, there is a phone for you to make a call to and someone will assist you. There is an outside smoking area just around the corner of the building. 7-11, Kyoto Avanti shopping mall are just around the corner. If you participate in day trips with Klook, the bus station meeting point is just right in front of Kyoto Avanti mall. I find the location strategic albeit it is far from Gion/Kawaramachi - the more happening and bustling area. I chose Henn na Hotel Hachijoguchi for our stay because it is easy for us to navigate, especially for the shinkansen ride from Kyoto to Tokyo on our last day. Additional tip: If u don't want to drag your luggage around Kyoto or to other parts of Japan, Sagawa the luggage delivery company will do the job for you. It is located outside the Kyoto Station East Exit, making it easy for travellers who wants to avoid the hassle of lugging their luggage around

I was very impressed, especially with the extremely convenient location. The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station, just a few minutes' walk away. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores around, making it very easy to find food or go shopping, as there are many dining options and department stores within the station itself. The room was clean, spacious, and airy, with plenty of natural light due to the full-length windows, which made the room feel absolutely not cramped—unlike typical accommodations in Japan that tend to be small and dark. Another point I really liked was the large bed, which comfortably fits two people, even if they are both tall adults. The bed is soft, allowing for a comfortable night's sleep, making it suitable for couples or friends traveling together. For anyone looking for convenient, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodations in Kyoto, this is highly recommended!
