Not worth it, you can find much better for the money.”
It is kinda tricky to get there its quite well hidden if you come from a main road. The internet failed miserably very very poor connection in the room; as well no bed sheets they give you some so that yourself to put them on the bed - if you come tired or u want to just relax u have to fit those into a bulky mattres wich is quite difficult and energy consuming. No privacy - it has a quite transparent cover at the bed, and the lockers can be dangerous- i had a lower locker cause the upper one was quite high for lifting my rucksak. The lockers door only shut if they are locked otherwise they have a spring or so to come back to open. And everytime i was using my locker i hit the door of the upper locker with my head and the door is metal! Small space to work around, nerves consuming and beside uncomfortable place to move around with your luggage. At the bathroom they have shampoo in an improvised bottle to wash your hands instead of proper soap. There are much better places for less $$
Great location and value. Perfect simple hostel.”
Conveniently located close to a BTS station. The area has lots of nice restaurants, cafes and malls. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dorms are simple and standard for a basic hostel. Nothing too special but just a good basic hostel in a good location and for a good price. No problems.
Good all around hostel, people are nice”
Good budget hostel, stayed in a private room. Had some issues with Wifi, but then again most hostels I've stayed at seem to have that. Breakfast is toast with marmalade and cereal with milk self serve and self clean. Extremely close to the Thong Lo BTS and can walk towards the north side of Thong Lo with a lot of places to eat. If you are there in the early summer they have something called TGIFest which is an outdoor pop up market/food place. Used to be where the night stalls are, but due to the condo renovation it is no longer there, nothing against the hostel though.
Wouldn't stay at during renovation”
I stayed here two years ago and loved it but didn't enjoy my most recent stay. The place is under renovation so just wasn't as nice, breakfast was bare bones and mosquitos all over the eating area, just wouldn't recommend to stay at again.
Nice YHA next to BTS & nightly street food market”
Excellent. Easy check in, nice staff, cool dorm rooms & bathrooms, good laundry on the roof. Access to BTS station & nightly street food market are the best. Probably no tourist destinations in the neighborhood, but easy transport access to other parts of the city from there. It can be a little hard to find as it's down an alley. When you're going south down the road from the BTS station, you'll see the HI triangle logo above the alley on the left side of the street, but if you're coming the other way up the street, it's easy to miss. "Walk it" using Google Street View from the BTS station to view it beforehand (Google Maps places it a little further south on the street than it actually is).
convenience and reliable”
The hotel is pretty near BTS station, and there are a lot of roadside restaurant. So, it's quite convenient for your trip. Its female dorm is okay with cheap price. The share bathroom is moderately clean.
Hostel in great location!”
Had a very pleasant stay at this hostel (private room). Shared bathrooms were always very clean, reception staff very helpful. Great location for the night time hawker stands, and a couple of minutes to the BTS station
Nice, but not much social activites”
I decided to stay another day because it was not so crowded with many backpackers like last time. It is near the Japanese town so it can be good for the Japanese but I have never met any Japanese in the past 4 visits. It is mostly crowds from Europe and North America. Street food is one of the best in bkk along with Kaosan road. It is conviently close to BTS. It gets really hot during the day as the aircon is turned off from 11 am till 6 pn.
In the Japanese town, lots of street actions, ”
This hostel is one of the best, but for some reason it was almost empty when I was there. The staff are not Thai but Burmese, so their help is limited. Nice storage locker for 20 Baht a day and they let you use the toilet while waiting for a late afternoon flight or trip.
Great location with lovely hotel and service”
Travelled with a group and the dorm was nice although limited space for 8 people though manageable. The shared bathroom was really clean as it is cleaned daily, hairdryer is provided! Ironing is also provided as well as WIFI! Mini breakfast also is served in the morning, however it is always the same. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at the hostel. Great location and wouldnt mind going back there!
Very clean, organised, central and great vibe.”
Great budget hostel. Very clean (i saw a cleaning lady brushing a single shower base for 15 mins!), met lots of people and had a good time. Reception staff was also amazingly helpful. The only one negative thing was the bed mattress. it was covered with plastic (which is good for hygene actually) and therefore it was rock hard and sweating.combined with the a.c. And i got flu :( anyway it was a very nice stay and i'm planning to come again.
Good location, nice hostel”
I would stay here again. Easy to get to, very close to Thong Lo skytrain stop. Great street food on soi 38 just outside the hostel. A refreshing change from staying in Khao San and much easier to get to and from.
Everything was great”
best hostel i've stayed so far. it has all what a backpacker needs. the common room gathers everyone comfortably for a talk or a cup of coffee, and the staffs were all friendly. though it's a few rides away from the main landmarks, it isn't much of a bother actually because the bts sky train is just a 3-minute walk away.
so quite for sleep and easy to travel
easy and quite”
easy to travel that near BTS and quite for sleep
fine for a hostel, right next to Tong Lor station”
Good stay. I accidentally booked the wrong days, but the staff helpfully changed the booking for no charge. The location is great, right next to the Tong Lor station.
A great find! ”
Covenience place to stay, cheap&near BTS station.”
- Dorm bed very hard, feel so bad to sleep - Great complementary for coffee, tea and breakfast such as toast Cereal and milk - Free internet cafe ans wifi
Close to thong Lo BTS but that is it”
I stayed here for a night becUse I had to catch a bus from ekkamai. Close to BTS but nothing else around. Too dark around. Dorms have small window. Staff is nice. wifi had very low signal in the dorm. Hostel had a creepy feel. They give you bed sheets to change so that saves them from house keeping. They also shut down the AC during day which is wierd. Average hostel. There are better ones
Lost our booking very annoying”
We arrived at Hi-Sukhumvit hostel very tired after a flight from Vietnam and were looking forward to putting our bags in the room and sunbathing on the roof terrace. When we arrived they didn't have our booking and told us they were full! We still have no idea what happened but we were sitting around getting very stressed for half an hour before finding out they could send us over to their other hotel. I had no cash on me and they wouldn't even give us a free coke to try and make up for it. The taxi to their other hotel took over an hour and we ended up wasting our day because of this mix up. They offered us nothing to try and make up for this. My advice is not to book on the same day as you arrive or if it is the last room as the same will probably happen again :(
