High Street Townhouse is located in Manchester’s historic Northern Quarter. Built in 1897 by Wilson Bothamley, the building was originally a milliner's warehouse and shop. Now it has been transformed into a boutique aparthotel of 19 self-catering apartments. There is a 24-hour reception desk and an on-site bar and restaurant. A variety of cafes, tea rooms, vintage clothing shops and bars can be found nearby. A tram stop is within 656 feet of High Street Townhouse and the Printwork’s popular bars and clubs can be reached after a 5-minute walk. Manchester Victoria Rail Station is less than 10 minutes’ walk away.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here to explore Manchester and we will definitely book here again. We have stayed in apartment hotels before and this is by far our favourite. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They kept our bags safe before check in and after check out. The apartment was clean, spacious and fully equipped. Little touches like the dressing table, the docking station and the tea, coffee and condiments were a bonus and the bath was amazing! The location is perfect - less than a 10 min walk to Victoria station and the Arndale Centre is a few footsteps away. There are tram stops a few minutes walk either side of the hotel and the fabulous Northern Quarter is a stone's throw away. The only downside is the noise from outside but it is to be expected whilst staying in a city centre hotel, just use earplugs! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel and the bar next door for being so welcoming. Hope to see you again soon!
I think we paid more than it was worth due to a high demand for hotel rooms that particular weekend.
Very disappointed and would not stay again”
We arrived to find a bed made up on the floor instead of a sofa bed, the radiator was hanging off the wall and there was mouldy woodwork in the bathroom and bedroom. When I complained about the bed situation I was told there was nothing they could do and they were fully booked. I have yet to receive a response from the reservations email I was told to complain to. This was a big issue for us as one of the travelers are disabled and needed to sleep in the living room. Very disappointed and shocked it has 5* above the door as it certainly isn't! It looks like it was a few years ago but it has just not been kept up.
Great Place in the city center”
This is a great place to stay if you want to be close in the city center. The room was good. Check-in was smooth and easy. Only on check-out time, there was no one in the reception and we could not contact anyone. We was told only to write down our room no on a piece of paper that was left on the desk. That's it.
Location and Staffs”
The positives aspects of this apartment are its location and staffs. This aparthotel is located opposite to Arndale Shopping Complex, supermarket and within walking distance to Piccadilly Station. The staffs are helpful and assist to forward complaints regarding facilities. The management of the aparthotel need to improve on the following: (1) the hallway sensor light on Ground Floor was not working and the hallway was dark (2) the unit is not equipped with air-cond and do not provide any fan. The weather in August 2016 was hot and humid and we have to open the window in each room for ventilation. However, such ventilation is still not adquate. (3) the water in the bathroom tub did not drain well even after the plumber came to address the complaint (4) The signage of this aparthotel, is so small and is difficult to locate it. (5) The laundry facility is located at the basement and relatively secluded/ And you have to pass through a few doors to reach that facility. If improvements are not made, I will not stay again in this aparthotel. End of comments.
Very bad management ”
Try to generate money only.
Will definitely stay here again. Restaurant next door was really good too
No air in the room, terribly hot even hard to breath”
I did not feel hot in the street, but it is extremely hot like turning on heater in the rooms. The window can allow me to open a seam about two inches, how come fresh air can get in the rooms. We felt on air in the rooms, so terrible. I tried to ask for a fan but nothing the receptionist can do. It was a nightmare! No next time!
Our review of the hotel stay ”
Comfortable, super cleanliness, good shower facility and sufficient supply of hot water. Just what we expected of a aparthotel property. If u ask me of a negative thing of the aparthotel, I believe it has to do with its wifi connection which is weak and something could not detect its wifi SSN. Otherwise it is a great stay for us.
Place was large - a really large suite with two bedrooms for three people - and centrally located for a good price. Comfortable and with a nice, serviceable kitchen and bathroom. Needs some tweaks - blinds were broken, some dishes were not clean, coffee was not replenished.
Disappointing room condition.”
The first impression of the hotel were bad. The lobby was dark and after four days the lights in lobby still broken. Beware of weekend as the hotel is located next to a pub/restaurant, noisy music blasting over the room.
I stayed at the Deansgate Blue Rainbow apartments and in comparison the High street one was very poor. The standard in the room was below, bathroom especially: toilet didn't work properly, mould around the sides and needed a bit of maintenance. Kitchen not very well equipped and left untidy. The fire alarm went off but fire exits were closed. Internet was for 24 hours so if you are staying longer you need to get a new access code
Location is good . But no parking for guest ”
We read thru website there is parking for guest . Unfortunately it is no available . Apartment located along the bus lane area so it is possible to unload the luggage . We checked in the unit with the room not done , as we need to move the luggage to another room , was told is the upgraded room , but it is the same type .
perfect location, comfy beds & no problems!”
You couldn't get a better location than these apartments. The beds are comfy, plenty of room & stylishly decorated. We were delighted when we arrived & had a great stay. Supermarket a few doors down, across the road to the arndale shopping centre. Definitely going to stay here again!
When booking this apartment I was told that i had been upgraded to a "flash executive" apartment! I dread to think of the standard of a regular apartment. I was travelling with my two children & the overall condition of the apartment was honestly appalling. The bathroom was filthy and looked as though somebody had stripped the paint from the woodwork but never bothered to repaint it! I tried to bath my son but discovered (halfway through running it) that there was a "hot water booster" button you had to press then wait upto an hour for hot water..in 2016!!! The floors were disgusting, wallpaper ripped, dirty sofas, toaster didnt work..the list goes on. Beware of the faux leather seats at the dining table, my Mum sat on one only to fall to the floor as the seat was completely unattatched to the stand on one side! The appartment looked out onto bins and piles of rubbish and is EXTREMELY noisy at night. This is advertised as an executive apartment, at full price, over £300 per night!!! How misleading and VERY disapointing as my husband and I have spent time at the Blue Rainbow at Deangate and were bowled over by the standard of the apartments there. The gentleman on the desk did nothing atall but tell us they were fully booked. Thank goodness we were only staying for one night!
Close to tram and shopping. In the city
Good central location”
Spacious apartment suited our needs for one night.would have liked a full length mirror as there was only a small mirror in one bedroom and one in the bathroom
Hotel situated at good location, have shopping complex just right across the street, need improvement on the room's water pressure
It's all about the location”
The hotel takes time to reply to emails. Apart from that it was a very comfortable stay for 3 adults. Location was prime. 5min walk to Primark, 10min walk to HRC and very near mall n shops. Lots of halal eateries around too.
