Great scenic view and historical house”
We stayed for a couple of evenings in the Highfield House suite room. It's a really lovely view from the top of the hill overlooking Launceston. The room was clean, modern and comfortable but retained its historical grandiose and character. Location is very convenient and service from the staff for breakfast was attentive and considered. Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful furnishing and comfy bed”
As subject title the room was gorgeous with a stunning view of the city. The bed was comfortable and the room was complete with water boiler, snacks, Wifi and drinks. Heater in room and on bed. My room was a suite though the bathroom was down the hallway. The bathroom does not have a heater so was a bit cold as I was travelling in Spring/end of Winter time. Would be better if there was one in there. Only a 2-min drive to the nearest supermarket. Breakfast was simple but amazing! Nicely set dining room! Parking just behind the house. The location is on GPS and easy to find. Will definitely book again if visiting Launceston again!
Great little hideaway in city centre”
Be transported back in time as you walk into this beautifully renovated private residence on the hill overlooking Launceston City. The plush furnishings, and gorgeous architecture will leave you feeling like you are royalty. Fergus provides a wonderful breakfast and helpful hints on what there is to see and do in Launceston. You will definitely feel relaxed as you enjoy a quite afternoon wine or cup of tea looking out at the view from the balcony.

The location of Highfield House is super convenient. The room was clean, tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. The house is charming and the breakfast included generous. We really enjoyed our stay at this property.
Perfect Stay”
Highfield House is in a perfect location. Fittings were of the highest quality....made it feel like home. Very comfortable and to top it all off it offered an excellent breakfast hosted by Fergus. Absolutely brilliant.

What an Experience! ”
This is not only a place. Is an experience. The place is like staying inside a museum. Colonial house with every detail accounted for. Service was perfect. There os no staff during the day but for breakfast Fergus (housekeeper) provided a very delicious meal. The place has an amazing city view and is very clean an organised. The only inconvenient is that our room had the toilet outside but it still private and for our room only. Totally recommended.
A nice colonial building”
Arrived at the big white colonial house and saw a notice on the door giving a telephone no. to call to get the key to our room called Elizabeth, which is at 1st Floor. Room size is just adequate and it has high ceiling. The bathroom is big but is at another level four steps down. Therefore it is not convenient, especially for seniors like us. The room and bathroom are very clean, but there was not makeup and cleaning for the two nights that we stayed. Linens are new and clean. toiletries are good. The included breakfast is good with eggs, ham, jams, butter and pastries. A friendly staff is in attendance during breakfast time. The house is walkable to the city centre, but better to have a car. Garden is very nice. Since it is located on high ground, it has a good view of the city, and beautiful sky scene during sunset time. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

6 rooms available 5 with own ensuite and 1 room without we had to go down the hall and 5 steps to get to bathroom allocated to our room. No sink in room to fill up kettle, wash cups or wash hands. Incorrectly marketed as a suite. Great views of Launceston located up a very very steep hill house keeper and innkeeper very polite couldn't fault their service bed very comfortable. No central heating but heaterin room was sufficient to heat the room.
Modern design and great view from the balcony”
The entire house is beautifully decorated which can tell that the house owner put real efforts in making guests feel at home. The house is located at the high end of a steep road so it's better if you drive there. The view from the balcony on the 2nd floor is amazing!
Beautiful and cozy house with nice decoration ”
We stayed one night and totally loved the interiors and decorations including amenities and minibar. Bed was warm with heating and nice antique furniture was used for guest room as well as dining room. Owner was very kind and kept our bag during Overland trak. Loved fresh milk, ham and cheese in the breakfast. Garden was beautiful and nicely maintained. Lovely view and walking distance to parks and city center.

Great breakfast with fine local produce ,good views of the city on my william henty suit,scented tree on front yard brings you the breeze of a perfumed garden,more over friendly and generous staff especially Ferguson and Lynn are helpful and ready to answer all your enquiries just a phone call away.What a amazing place to be and good value for the money.

Really gorgeous characterful hotel. Only a few rooms, so self check-in etc. Really comfy bed, and beautifully decorated. Good brekkie and really easy walk to town centre (less than 10mins). Easy base for exploring wineries/gorge etc. Would recommend!
Lovely, cosy place”
Extremely cosy, clean and tastefully decorated. Felt like home, only nicer! I only regret we stayed just one night in this lovely place. Since we arrived late and left early we didn't actually encounter staff, still we felt very well taken care of. Due to our very early departure, Fergus made sure we had fresh breakfast items like berries and yoghurt stacked in our fridge to go with the home made granola and excellent freshly ground coffee in the breakfast room. I highly recommend this place.

Fanstastic Place”
We booked two rooms for two families and stayed two nights. Overall, the hotel is a great B&B. The only thing need to be improved is the hot water supply.
