The hotel is beautiful, all the service staff are vey good, the food is great and good price, the swimming pool was clean and very good for swimming at night, I would definitely go back to this hotel

Perfect relaxation”
This hotel is perfect if you're looking for a relaxing break. The hotel is located just outside the main bit of Chaung Thar so you get a bit of peace and tranquility. The bungalows are well maintained, clean and comfortable. The beach is just a few minutes walk away so really is ideal. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and even gave me a bed to sleep in when I arrived at 4am in the morning! Can you believe that!? Also food was good with top marks for the buffet breakfast.

Excellent Resort!”
Clean, quiet, well maintained compound and gardens, spacious rooms/cottages with basic but good working amenities. Wifi good in room. Nice breakfast fried rice. A good place to explore and enjoy Chaung That beach. Its beach is nice and easy to reach. For those with children I think ideal with plenty of garden to play, a swimming pool and a playground. Definitely a return address for me.

Quiet side of Chaung Thar”
Beach is just about a hundred meters walk from the property. Property is not on the beach front byt this side of Chaung Thar is a lot more quiet-er than the Amazing beach side.

Amazing bungalows in a quiet part of town next to what felt like a private beach”
The staff were amazing. Especially James the chef at the restaurant, his wife and the rest of the team. Amazing food making it the perfect stop for me for 5 days of just beach and relaxing then amazing food on site. Electricity is 6pm-6am and no WiFi but it's not needed if your coming to get away from it all for a while.

Located in the better side of Chaung Thar Beach (at the less crowded side). ”
The beach was a stone's throw from the hotel. It is located on the north end of the beach where there are very few people. The beach, during that time was almost exclusive for us. We took the hut style rooms with no AC. It was not necessary during our stay (January first week 20019). The mosquito nets were essential.

quiet and beautiful place among the trees. not a sea view hotel but very near to the beach. Helpful staff and you can get early check-in with no extra pay. we arrived there about 6 am and rooms are ready for us.

Good but a bit isolated”
The bungalow is nice, good place to chill. Although the information at the hotel will try to get you to do tours, you can go walking to a beach just in front of the hotel and have a nice dip alone. The staff is friendly, although miscommunication can happen in English. No WiFi, even in the reception or restaurant is definitely a big minus. Breakfast is just a few toasts or a pancake with fruit. But on the plus side, a really good place to relax. The town is a 20minute walk or 1000kyat tuk tuk drive one way per person.

My favorite is the location of this hotel and it is quiet place. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I believe this is the most quiet place in Chaungtha. One thing I wanted to point out is to clean mosquito😬. The rest are really worth with given price

Not a good choice to stay”
Request for 2 Deluxe Bungalow with Garden View a week before but 1 day before my trip received an email that these rooms are full and change my bookings to Bungalow Bamboo with fans. (My fault for missing this email.) Upon reaching the hotel been informed of my original bookings are full and changed to this Bungalow Bamboo with fans. But then i'm still been charged Deluxe Bungalow with Garden View rates instead of Bungalow Bamboo rates... Pissed off for paying things which i'm not entitled for.

Bungalows in beautiful setting with great service”
We were traveling during NYE and had a hard time finding accommodations to pre-book in Chaungtha Beach. Then we saw that one bungalow was still available at Hill Garden Hotel and booked it even though we could find few reviews. I wanted to write this review because we were amazed at what we got for the price. The hotel is relatively new and fairly small with only 9 bungalows at the property. It is located about 1.5km north of the main road in Chaungtha Beach past the sister Shwe Hin Tha hotel (owned by Belgians). So the only downside is that you need a bike to get to/from the main strip in town with all the restaurants (or the staff can arrange motorbike rides down to the sister hotel on the main road for 500 kyat each way). But it is totally worth it to stay here regardless as the setting is beautiful with all bungalows overlooking gardens and banana trees with a view of the beach and town in the distance. We stayed in bungalow #9. It was brand new with all new beautiful wood furnishings and a huge brand new beautiful bathroom inside as well as an outdoor patio with seating. We had a huge comfortable king-size bed with a pretty net and the staff added a couple mattresses and another net next to it to accommodate the 3 of us. The included breakfast was one of the best we had for accommodations in this price range in Myanmar. Besides your typical eggs, you actually get an option of a banana pancake. There is always some good fruit and snacks as well. The staff couldn't be more helpful. They are always available and happy to help with any need. You can also book trips and bus tickets through them for very good rates. And you can use free WiFi at the sister hotel down the road. The only downside I can think of is the quality of the bikes they have for rent. Considering the fact that you actually need them to get around when staying here, I hope they will upgrade to newer better-maintained bikes to several speeds and baskets for convenience of the gu

Happy to stay at Hill Garden”
Hill Garden was a nice surprise in out stay at Chaungtha Beach. While rest of the village is not so lovely, the resort on the hill at the north was very nice. Great staff, specialy their friendly lady boss. Wooden bungalows are more than great, their condition is worth their money. There is also a fresh tea every morning at our veranda and tasty berakefast at the restavrant, where you can choose in 4 different coices every morning. Well you have to walk a little to the beach, but its ok. We want to come back one day.

This was, by far, the best hotel we stayed in”
Fantastic in every way. The staff are amazing, the surroundings and gardens are lovely, they have a 'green' policy, the food is delicious, the rooms delightful, each with its own balcony. A real pleasure and delight to have found this place. Chaungtha beach itself is noisy and not nice, the Hill Garden is a mile north, and the beach here, just 2 minutes away, is spotless and unspoiled.

very relaxing, quiet bungalow ”
This small bungalow resort is so nice that I extended my stay there. The bungalows are spacious, clean, quite new, very quiet. The resort is located in a nice green garden with banana trees and other tropical plants approx. 2 km from the Chaungtha Beach with its hotels, resorts and "nightlife" and 3 minutes walk to the beautiful, empty white beach stretching many km to the north. I really can recommend the Hotel restaurant, same as the daily served breakfast, where you have got the choice of several, even Mohinga, the traditional burmese soup. I really enjoyed my relaxing stay there.

Lovely Garden Oasis ”
Hill Garden Resort - hillside bungalow. First up - OK its not on the beach and indeed way out of town (not a bad thing) but lush, beautifully landscaped and environmentally conscious garden cabins – idyllic! Except …. Electricity only available 6pm to 6am (unreliable) and then pot luck during the day. Wifi at odd hours via phone tether but it worked ‘sometimes’. Value for money – certainly and beach was a short 3 min walk down a dusty hill but the beach here is far better than the main beach which is Myanmar’s answer to Brighton! One more serious complaint is the encouragement to pay bar/food bills upon check out – while this makes things easier it deprives the service staff of tips and I am pretty sure my food bill of 104Ks ($108) for 3 days was inflated – strongly recommend paying as you go. The food was excellent and the staff as charming and helpful as you could wish for. WARNING- Be VERY careful where you eat in this region – the lack of reliable electricity means food storage is a problem as is basic hygiene! This is no idle warning, both visiting locals and foreigners are often victims of food poisoning and I was no exception.

Relaxing to the max”
The hill garden hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from town but it is quiet and close to a lovely beach which allows for much relaxation. My only two issues were that the restaurant menu is very small and there are no fans or ac in the rooms so it some nights we were very much kept awake by the heat.
