We also ordered in the cafe on-site for brekky and it was one of the great meals we had in the East Coast.

A good place for an overnight stay when travelling by car as it is a short drive from St Helens town.

Sheets, toilet/bath/kitchen were all clean which, for us, were the most important in our stay.

Great atmosphere and services”
Pros- affordable, shop/ office hours and facilities Cons- really poor quality bed. Definalety time for an upgrade. Bit further out of st Helens than expected but a nice drive!
It was like a studio unit. Great place to stay, but you need your own transport. The unit is self contained with it's own kitchen, sitting room, bedroom & bathroom. As it was nearing winter, the heater was a blessing. Even the bathroom was heated. Bed was comfortable and unit was equipped with a fridge and tv as well. The park had a convenience store where you can order cooked food. It also has petrol pumps selling petrol at a cheaper price. Best place we stayed in during our Tasmanian trip.
A cheap place to stay”
We enjoyed our time in St Helens very much. The cabin was quite old and needed some maintenance. Apart from this it was in a quiet area and wasn't too far out of town.
Friendly Service, Clean Cabin”
Though it was just for one night, we are pleased with our stay. We checked in late into our cabin but the staff was nice enough to wait up for us after their working hours. The park also has a gas station and a mini supermarket for all our needs.
Good clean cabins and helpful staff. We only stayed one night but Would stay here again
Great place to stay ”
Good size cabins with all that You need. Good location. Great service.
Nice cabin :)”
Chips sold in the grocer was super cheap and delicious, highly recommend! Room was warm and good enough for the price, big parking space, not far from the bay.
good for family”
Sufficient facilities to accommodate families with kids. Location not in town but close if renting a car no probs then. Have store with plenty of groceries however hot food might need quality improve (got a really cold pie just from shop walking back to my cabin, 2 mins? I thought I picked up a wrong order). Didn't cook but microwave is helpful. My partner didn't like bed sheet and quilt cover saying they're nearly worn out, maybe consider have a changeover? Like small outdoor resting area with table and chairs. reception staff are friendly.
Basic but satisfactory, good base to explore the bay of fires! ”
As expected for price, cabins are fairly basic. Clean enough though and the kitchen allows you to cook and save a few more dollars when compared to a motel.
standard caravan park cabin”
its a little away from town centre. but we are driving so that okay. spacious room and is basically a mini flat. the cabin can sleep up to 4. the kitchen is neat and has everything u need. has gas fill up right outside the reception makes it very convenience.
Extended our 1 night to 2 and had to change cabins. Smaller and at a higher price, (week-end). Still OK for money
Hillcrest Caravan Park Suggestions”
No big deal but there were ants in the bathroom above the vanity . Insect spray was provided . Would have been good to have salt and pepper provided . Overall a very pleasant experience .
Top little place”
Loved the stay. All the facilities you would want. Small park and enjoyed it
Basic camping cabin facilities, clean, tidy and comfortable.
Worst accommodation is quite a while”
Very disappointing place. Be aware this place really is backpacker standard, it should be advertised as such. The adult bed was only a "caravan" size & hard as a door. We did not sleep, only through exhaustion on second night. They need to advertise bed is not even a double, we hung off it & are normal size, not tall or overweight. Could not cook even though has kitchen advertised. Only one burner works at a time (as per sticker above stove), could not even make spaghetti. Cabin is TINY! No where to store luggage, no cooling at all, got to room and it was a furnace, they didn't even open windows for our arrival. Listened to cars on driveways most of night as people in & out regularly, tyres on gravel kept us awake as cabin on driveway. Bought milk that had 2 days to due date & ended up tipping done sink, had begun to sour. Never again! In saying this, stayed in 7 different accommodations while touring Tassie, this was the only dump. Backpackers! Hillcrest should be advertising as such.
It was clean and tidy but very outdated for the price. Certainly not worth the money for a cabin they are asking. The staff in the office were very helpful
Value for money and really good food in Saint Helens!”
Stayed here for a night and staff were really friendly. We had a good sleep and the accommodation was pretty comfortable. The place is quite old though so if your expectations are managed, you won't get disappointed. Sheets, toilet/bath/kitchen were all clean which, for us, were the most important in our stay. We also ordered in the cafe on-site for brekky and it was one of the great meals we had in the East Coast. The Blokes burger is a definite must try!
Decent rest spot”
The cabin was decent. Our biggest complaint was the lack of AC and air movement inside the cabin, which made sleep difficult for our small children. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay while visiting the Bay of Fires.
What i needed”
Clean, helpful staff. Good price
OK stay. Better places for same money”
The girl in the 'reception' was super friendly and gave us helpful info about the surrounding area. The bed however was super uncomfortable. Floor was dirty. Saw nicer places for the same price or a tiny bit more.
