Awesome Trip!”
My girlfriend and I went to Banaue with our Taiwanese friend. Our stay at Hillside Inn was very fun. It wasn't the best inn in the world, but the staff made it worth it. Roberson served as our guide and our friend during our stay. Even his sister Odette was so friendly. The food doesn't get served immediately, so order earlier. They gave us bananas when we told them we've been waiting for a while. Finally, the view in our room, was so beautiful. You have to see it!

Basic and awesome”
Basic room, facility and everything. But it all work. Awesome view for breakfast & nice location in Batad. Would stay there again, considering it is very good value for money.

Spartan environment, enjoy a night as a Local”
Amazing view, just sit front of the Wonderful Batad rice terraces and relax. No best place to enjoy Batad! Spartan rooms, shared showers, local restaurant with good range of foods. Hotel access is difficult, be advised not to bring luggages since there's a 30min walking distance up and down through a soil and slipping path in the mountain. Would not recommend to tourists expecting a minimum confort. But definitely very convenient if you have the full treck of Batad in a day, because there's no more jeepneys to leave Batad to go to Banaue after 4:00pm and after sunset around 5:30-6:00pm, it's too dark to cross the walking path up to the road.

Very disappointed and will never stay here again”
They gave us a room at what seems to be an extension of the homestay. There were still available rooms at the main building but they opted to placed us at the old/worn out extension area and we were the only one there. We initially stayed at Room 17. The room needs fixing and serious cleaning. The room was dusty and the ceiling and wall corners have spiders and spider webs/ web of dirt. The curtain for the window was also worn out. The wood ceiling was also heavily stained and already peeling off. The room was small too. There was no available space for our things so the only option was to place them on the bed plus very minimal space to allow movement. The CR was located outside making it incovinient especially when it's raining. Plus the CR doesn't have sink. We asked to be transferred to another room during the evening as there were big insects coming in and they transferred us in Room 10. The room was a bit better but still needs serious cleaning. It was dusty, with spider web and spiders, plus web of dirt, and insect droppings. The ceiling at the restaurant area also needs to be clean as there are also web of dirt, spider webs, and spiders. This was also my first experience where a homestay/ inn requires payment for the charging of mobile phone. The only good thing about this homestay was the view of the terraces which can also be seen from the other homestay at almost similar price but you can have a friendly host, free charging of gadgets, and clean and spacious room like in Batad View Inn and Restaurant.

Acceptable”
A very long walk to the destination from drop off point as it is in the mountains. Very hard with large luggage! A couple of helpful locals, but a lot of extra charges (and high charges compared to average). Their standardised pricing for tour guide and travel are targeting foreigner affordability, but they said their set rates were an area wide policy, so not sure how true that is. I guess the rates would be considered "good" value for over 5 travellers doing the tours and transporting at once. There are no fans or heaters in these rooms, but you get what you pay for.

Basic accommodation with a view”
Pro: Located near to the entrance of the village. View of the Rice terraces from the room and restaurant was excellent. Very basic. Room with a door, 2 windows that could not shut, a thin mattress, table and chair. Toilets could be cleaner and shower room was locked (under maintenance) during the evening. Pay as you use so you need to pay to charge electronic gadgets at the reception counter but was not expensive just inconvenient. Food was edible, you can try other "restaurants' nearby.

The best hotel in Batad with spectacular view”
If you want to spend your trip in Batad, choose this Hotel. It has a VERY NICE view of the whole Batad Rice Terraces that other hotels can't offer. And the price was very affordable too! I think many travelers made their booking here and so, the atmosphere in the hotel lobby/restaurant was so great. Sometimes, the guides who are staying here before they proceed for tomorrow's hike, Do some guitar performances and it was great to jam with them.
