Excellent service and great location ”
Hillview House is located at the hilly side of the city with an expectacular view of Launceston City. It's a short stroll to the city centre, restaurants, and bars. Service is excellent. The owners even remember first names of the guests. Breakfast is also provided. Definitely, I would love to stay at Hillview House again. We had a pleasant stay. I highly recommend it. It's a good value for money.
Great Location - Lovely friendly owners”
Hillview House is a lovely old style home with wonderful views over Launceston and only a short stroll (downhill) to the CBD). The owners Sandra and Rob are very friendly and are more than willing to assist the traveller in anyway possible with hints on things to do and places to visit. They also make the best eggs and bacon (anyway you want them). Some rooms are not overly spacious, but are typical for the era the house was built, they are comfortable and very clean. The rooms are serviced daily with clean linen and towells every 2nd day. We had a great stay and loved the friendliness of Rob and Sandra
Lovely old world style bed and breakfast. friendly”
I really enjoyed my stay there. The owners were very helpful especially with directions and local knowledge. My room was lovely and looked out on views to Launceston. Breakfast was amazing. Lots of cereal, toast, fruit, juices, tea and coffee followed by a delicious cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs in a charming dining room. I cannot speak highly enough of Hillview House and can't wait to return there.
Nicely located B&B with lovely staff”
Stayed one night at the Hillview House. Got a premium room by the lovely woman who met us. The room, which overlooks Launceston was really nice, large and clean and an ok bed. Would definitely stay there again.
Heritage house with great mountain view”
hillview b&b has the breathtaking mountain view just like its name. the deco reminds me the b&b in uk, classic, comfy and warm. from the window you can overlook the whole launceston. they also provide traditional continental breakfast with delicate porcelain utensils. but a little bit noisy in the morning as the b&b is at the corner of the street.
A Homely Place to Stay on the Hill”
Hillview house is not central but still close to the city, in a residential area near beautiful old homes, churches and parks, with good restaurants on the street just metres away. We loved the building and the location. It is a large old house, full of character with a great view from the top of the hill. The place has a warm, intimate and homely almost country cottage feel, the owners are good hosts, very open and friendly. The room was nice and comfortable, bigger than average in size, with a small, not ultra modern but adequate bathroom. The hotel is at the top of a rather large hill, but it's worth the climb for the view. We would recommend staying here if you are after a homely and more personal place to stay.
Convenient”
Stayed 5 nights using it as a base for day trips around Launceston. The twin room was comfortable with ensuite, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and TV. The decor is traditional and worn with time. You could hear footsteps from the room above, and smokers unfortunately congregated near the front door which was adjacent to Room 3, the room in which I was staying. The breakfast was ample and beautifully presented in a small and cosy dining room. You could not access this space until 8:00am which I considered to be too late given that it was advertised at 7:30am. The house is a short stroll to town but upon your return you will need to work your thigh muscles if walking back. There is a good assortment of restaurants close by. I enjoyed the Indian delights of Cinnamon, and the contemporary fixtures and wood fired pizza at Metz. The host was most helpful when seeking advice informational about the Harvest markets held every Saturday near the City Park. Be sure to have breakfast at the markets if you visit them. Overall a very comfortable stay.
Heritage Accommodation in Launceston”
We stayed at Hillview House Bed and Breakfast for two nights and enjoyed staying in such an old heritage listed building. Our room was fine, if not a little small but that is the nature of old buildings of the time, so no problem. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is provided and offers a full continental breakfast which was of good quality. If you like history, and a break from the standard modern hotel, then try Hillview House Bed and Breakfast.
Delightful venue, ultra friendly service”
Really enjoyed Hillview House. The owner is very hospitable and helpful, fabulous views from the rooms and a delicious breakfast. Tastefully decorated in grand Victorian style, it is located amongst some beautiful old buildings so there is a photograph around every corner.
Nice hosts with good service”
We were traveling with elder and young children Australia, Launceston is our first stop in Tasmania, Hill view B & B gave us a very warm impressive feeling, the view is spectacular, the service is great, the information shared is helpful, the rooms have a quite warm home feeling. Over all , we all enjoyed.
Value for money at this lovely historic old house”
Very enjoyable stay. Comfortable room. We booked a Queen room but were upgraded to a deluxe room when we arrived. Friendly hosts. Good breakfast. Good location overlooking Launceston city.
Charming building”
If u want to experience some true blue Aussie hospitality, head to Hillview B&B. Sandra, the house lady, is warm, friendly and helpful. Building and our room was nice, adequate and cosy. Good breakfast in the morning and real value for money. Seriously, the most friendly of all the places we stayed in Tazzie.
good position”
Beautiful old Historic home that has been converted to a comfortable B&B. It has all you need for a comfortable stay & is an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Launceston. Breakfast is more than adequate to sustain you through the day.
A true sample of excellent hospitality! ”
This is definitely one of my favourite places to stay in Tasmania. The moment I was dropped off to the front door, I was already captured by the charming villa on the hill but it was not until getting in was I impressed by the extremely well-maintained and cosy interior. I was let to the room as soon as it ready instead of waiting until 2pm, which I am very appreciated because I arrive by a very early flight. The room is supposed to be a double room but I think it can be quite cramped for 2 Westerners since the double bed takes most of the space (super comfy bed by the way) - however, the place does have bigger rooms that I believe people with heavy luggage can still fit in. As a solo traveller, I found my room size is just right, suitable for a short stay for a couple of days. Ensuite bathroom and basic amenities are provided, simple but very neat and clean. There is also a heater for colder nights, but my visit is in Spring so the temperature is not that bad. The house is on a hill so you will have to walk uphill on the way back from the CBD - not a very difficult walk, about 10-15 minutes depending on your level of fitness but just consider that if you have mobility problems. In return, you are rewarded with the stunning view. Sitting at the verandah watching the sunset is probably one of the best things during my stay here. The managers, Sonam and Oosha are definitely the definition of exceptional hospitality. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, the lady even prepared my breakfast the night before to pack to go on an early day tour. It is a very thin line between making you feel good and feel uneasy of over-caring, and these amazing people have mastered the art of hospitality. I feel welcomed and being taken care of, but still have enough privacy for myself. Highly recommended!
Excellent”
We found the location really close to Launceston CBD, comfortable and clean, breakfast was very well presented and choice was great, staff a credit to management and very friendly!
Quiet and pleasant environment”
We enjoyed our stay at Hillview House, though we did find that the room became hot and uncomfortable during the night even though the heater had been turned off some hours beforehand. I feel air conditioning would have been beneficial as the windows could not be opened due to the overnight wind and rain.
Great experience”
We only stayed a night in Hillview B&B. The host Jenny was really nice. The room was very cleaned, warm and cosy. The breakfast was very good too, Jenny and her staff cooking the breakfast for us.we had the continental and scramble egg with bacon and toast. But unfortunately we only stayed one night, we will definitely go back to stay longer.
Lovely hotel design with excellent service”
we loved the rooms which were well-designed and clean. breakfast was excellent too in the lovely dining room with a nice view. our host sandra was very friendly and helpful in providing tips for our travel. we enjoyed our stayed at hillview very much and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.
Great experience was staying here”
The couple of the owner is really friendly. The breakfast is very delicious and they give you a very warm feeling. I will stay here again if I have been Launceston in next time.
Conference visit”
Although I spent most of my 4 days in Launceston at the conference, I truly enjoyed the hotel, and Sandra was a great host!
