We chose the Hilton Berlin as a 4 day break as a treat for my Birthday. It was excellent! The hotel was very impressive, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked an executive room which gives access to the executive lounge which is open all day for soft drinks, tea/coffees etc., but also, breakfast in the morning which is mainly continental, but plenty of choice and a nice quiet atmosphere. Between 6pm and 8.30pm, the lounge offers complimentary alcoholic drinks as well as some hot food and a selection of meats, cheeses, bread etc., We would definitely book the executive room again. We also booked a two day spa entrance for 19.90 euros each which again, was well worth it. Access to the Swimming pool and gym is included in the hotel price, but if you want access to the 'Spa' areas you can pay 14.90 for one day or 19.90 for two. The Spa includes a Finnish Sauna, Sauna, Steam room, Foot spa and a Separate Relaxation room with heated waterbeds! Amazing!
Excellent location, older property”
The big building (expect long corridors) dates back to the GDR days and the rooms are spacious but with old school carpet etc. Perfect situation on the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt, very near the center. Good breakfast and mostly friendly staff.
This really is a super hotel. Great location beside checkpoint Charlie! There is a supermarket not to far from here which sells some great beer. Leisure facilities are first class. Special thanks to the polish leisure attendant, magnificent service very kind and professional. Thank you Hilton Berlin you will see me again soon
Perfect location and breakfast”
Central location to many sights and next to subway entrance. Good breakfast selection. Generally good stay, but staff weren't that customer service friendly. One guy cut in front of me at check-in and the receptionist serviced that guy instead of the people in the line. A bell boy also decided he should have the right of way over 2 hotel guests in the hallway
Traveling around Germany lowered my expectaion on the service level. However! Berlin lifted up the bar and made our days. Hilton staff are very kind, professional and helpful if available (customer hotline was often ended up with no one answering in the night)
We stayed at this hotel at a special rate of about $150 Canadian, and we definitely got great value for that price. Our rooms were on the interior and so did not have much of a view, but they were clean and comfortable. The staff was generally helpful, although when we first arrived and tried to sort out the internet we had to go back to them repeatedly only to be given ineffective explanations or suggestions. This was not sorted out until the next day when someone finally explained that they had given us the wrong password. Also, the free internet they offer (unless you join their club) is only available in their lobby. Other than that we had a great experience and, especially given the special rate we paid, feel like we got good bang for our buck.
Good but could have been great...If Hilton can only provide free wifi in the rooms, I would give it a 5 star rating. If there is wifi in the room (not necessarily a high speed one), I can be notified of urgent emails via my phone even while I am on vacation specially with the time difference in my country. It is a great waste of money to purchase wifi in anticipation of urgent emails which may or may not happen during a vacation.
very nice hotel but terrible staff attitude”
this hotel is a true five star in cleanleness and location and service but the only thing lacking is staff attitudefrom waiters to front desk to consierge its a shame but the staff think they are doing you a favor working there.
Great price, convenient location. A bit dated.”
The place was nice. Check-in was seamless. Easy walk to restaurants and Galeries Lafayette. The room was a bit small and old. Was clean though
Great location, disappointed you couldn't use all the spa facilities ”
Impeccable hotel in a great location for getting around Berlin. The bar area is beautiful, service was fabulous and the live piano really set the scene. Rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A little disappointed that we could only use the swimming pool & there was an extra charge to use the steam room & sauna. Otherwise a perfect stay.
Rooms nice & comfortable; Great location; Stay less than ideal as our two rooms were not connected”
The rooms are very nice & comfortable - likely to have been renovated recently. The location is great - just outside an U-metro station; walking distance to Friedrichstrasse, Postdamer Platz, Mall of Berlin etc. My wife and I were travelling with our two young children. We had to book two rooms. The only thing that made our stay less than ideal is that we did not get connecting rooms despite having booked almost two months in advance.
The location is great but the room which we got had a terrible bed and the pillows wear also not great.
Hilton Berlin Hotel”
Great location, spacious room and everything was very clean and well maintained.
Good location and facilities ”
Friendly staff and good location. Room and hotel has good facilities. Food menu in bar area could possibly offer more choices. A lovely bed and good value for the money.
An ideal hotel for our honeymoon holiday”
Hotel location is conveniently located. Several attractions are not too far away to cover by foot. Staffers are also very attentive, we would like to thank personally to the great team in reception and room service for making our honeymoon holiday a comfortable and memorable one. Hugss..
A Berlin wonderland”
Right place, right time the hotel is located just where you need to be, you can walk to almost all of the main sites that you want to see. The hotel is opposite a big square that has everything that you need, loads of restaurants and bars.
Central Location but probably not a 5-star”
We checked in quite late at night, staff were slow to get us in a room. No welcome drinks of any kind was offered as opposed to other Hilton, I have stayed before. Phone in the room was broken so room service needed to be done by taking a long walk to reception counter. Not the best memory. Apart from the broken phone, the room is usual Hilton standard. The hotel is in good location and have a nice view of the city.
We got to the hotel early (11:00) and were immediately checked-in, the room was clean and comfortable. The 2 issues I think could have made the stay perfect: 1. Free WIFI in the room and not only in the lobby 2. The water stream in the bathtub was really not in the level of 5 stars hotel
Brilliant base for Berlin visit”
My only criticism is the prices in the lobby bar compared to local bars - we would have used it more if prices had been more reasonable. But this aside we were really pleased we chose the Berlin Hilton for our city break.
Poor Reception Staff, but otherwise great”
Checkin process is a bit underwhelming, staff don't seems to care much, hardly smile, no friendly talk whatsoever. In addition, they weren't fluent in English. No welcome drink or anything of sort offered which is disappointing for a 5 star hotel. The phone in the room was also broken I couldn't reach room service and have to come down to the lobby to order food, no replacement was offered so I stop bothered further with hotel service. Other than these disappointments, you get what you expected from Hilton, central location with good view, clean and comfort room, spacious bathroom with good products. Once i can reached the room service, the staff was great. Took great care in setting up the table for dinner and was very friendly offering tips about Berlin. So if all the staff could be that way it would be perfect.
