Good Services and location”
Lots of facilities, provides free transport to the train station, very friendly and helpful staffs and location is really good being just beside NEC
The hotel has lots of facilities for me to use. One of the highlights of the hotel for me is the taxi that they provide from the hotel. The taxis are Mercedes Benz E-Class and the fare is relatively cheap compare to many other taxi company. For such a big hotel, the staff are very efficient. They very friendly and also helpful. The location is ideal for me because it's located next to the NEC which means that it will be quiet at night rather then the city. If I do need to get into the city, they provide shuttle bus to Birmingham international train station which has regular service to the city itself. Another alternative is using the taxi which cost me less than 20 pounds in a very comfy ride.

Very poor reception staff”
Staff on reception was extremely rude and patronising, I wanted to pay my parking the next day and not on check in so she said well good look in the cue tomorrow and smirked then walked off. I called her back and asked which way is my room and she said it’s on your Kay,,,lol shame as it’s a lovely hotel

Not as good as I expected ”
Reception staff and bar staff very friendly and helpful. Woman at the door of breakfast buffet seemed miserable and looked annoyed when I asked for a knife and fork. Good pool and gym but more signs needed to let you know how to get to the pool etc. Room a lot smaller than I imagined. Really hot too. Struggled to sleep. Drinks on the pricey side too.

Room not ready. No response about dinner reservation from catering services. Terrible service in bar”
Nice breakfast after ten - fifteen minute wait. Very expensive £209 for one night. Others paid £116. Always very long queues at check in . Only two desks open. This was opening day for a large and a small conference. They really did not seem to care. Friends meal, a salad took forever to come. Wrong delivery, no cutlery and three wait persons involved. Very bad management. Then her meal was put on my bill! Not good enough. Hotel is too big. Money taken in April. Was that you or them? Dissatisfied

On the whole very disappointing as dining is a very important part of any hotel stay!”
Although the 99% of the hotel staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful, dining at the hotel was a disaster- the wait to order food in all areas was unacceptable as was the wait for the ordered food to arrive. The dining room actually managed to loose our food order and this they only realised this after one and a quarter hours and therefore it took almost two hours to see food on our table. I have to say that the waiter was very apologetic and our bottle of wine was given free. The bar area for breakfast being worst experience. The Manager there on Friday morning can only be described as rude and arrogant. He blatantly hurried to service tables of his choice and ignored other tables that had been waiting far longer for his attention. You could quite see that his young waitress was embarrassed and distressed by his attitude and worked twice as hard to make up for his lack of attention and pomposity.

Disappointing”
I had a deluxe twin room to share with a friend and it didn't look like a 4 stars hotel's room. No complimentary bottles of water, no slippers or bathrobes and not even toiletries for each guest. The bath looked really old and stained, really difficult to regulate water temperature. It would need a refurbishment. Not what you would expect in a 4 stars hotel. Definitely not going back there another time, as it's not good value for money. You can find cheaper and better modern 3 stars hotel with breakfast included. The indoor swimming pool looked lovely but there was a waiting list to use it, so I gave up.

Great hotel but food and drink is way over priced ”
Had a good time but £11 for a fish finger butty or £5.15 for a beer is a joke. The room was great apart from the TV picture was bad like an old TV. The hdmi and scart sockets dont work either also £29 for 3 days of wifi not gonna happen ever

Traffex 2015”
Staff were excellent , rooms were clean, breakfast was very good
It was a last minute booking so had no choice , had to take what was available. Enjoyed the stay except considered it very expensive for the type of twin bed rooms we had. Very small single beds (on wheels) , furniture & fittings very dated, & hall & room had a stale smell. The Safe refused to work, no water or refrigerator in the rooms. At best a 3 star. Rooms were spotless . Breakfast excellent but long queues for breakfast & hot food. Reception staff & conseigue staff were excellent .

Happy Stay”
Staff attentive. Great room rate. Fantastic breaksfast.
All in all a great stay and highly recommended. The driver of the shuttle bus to & from the hotel could do with a smile every now and again, but he has a certain character. Overall great front of house staff, very attentive and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Take a bow Hilton Metropole.

The Hilton Experience”
The staff, the food and the location wrt the LG Arena
From the time we phoned to the hotel on arrival at Birmingham International Rail Station, requesting their courtesy car, to the time we left the following day we could have not asked for a better trip. The car arrived promptly, the driver was friendly, courteous and helpful. Check in was a breeze and we were made to feel valued as a guest as the hotel facilities were explained to us. The evening buffet was delicious and the staff serving again made you feel welcome. The maitre'd was so professional. The location was just right to walk to the LG Arena where we saw Andrea Bocelli. The bed were comfortable, the room spotless and the breakfast was excellent. This was despite the hotel being nearly full which says so much about the organisation and the staff. Just first class.

Convenient for conference facilities”
Convenience. Food. Pool
Stayed at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham for a conference. +ves Convenient for conference centre and rail station. Quiet, clean room. Good bed and blackout curtains ensuring good nights sleep. Good food in Restaurant if a little expensive. Good size pool to unwind in. -ve Have to pay a lot for WiFi in room. A bit short staffed especially check in. Bar expensive. Whilst location is great for conference centre you are away from the centre of Birmingham on what is effectively an oasis in a dessert.

A matter of convenience...”
Agoda's price was much cheaper than Hilton's. I was attending a conference and went a day earlier so was able to enjoy the swimming pool and facilities. The executive room was comfortable.
The price of drinks is extortionate, £29 for a cheap bottle of wine and £9.00 a glass in the bar. There is no WiFi in rooms, only in lobby area. Considering this is a business hotel this is a minus point unless you are willing to pay. £14.00 per day. The location was great for the NEC and transport but too far away from anything else. Fine if your purpose is to attend a conference but wouldn't stay there if I was on a leisure holiday. The quality of the food for conference guests was very poor.

The Hotel is perfect if attending the NEC Venue”
Within walking distance to the NEC / LEC Venues & also the train link goes to the airport & Birmingham City Centre
The only issue/concern for longer stays would be the prices of the food/drinks in the bar area which I found to be more than I would expect to pay at some of the hotels, theaters in London. One other guest made a comment that the money he was charged for his Jack Daniels with Coke would have bought a bottle at a supermarket.

Perfect location for us”
Location, Staff, Room
We stayed here for an event at the LG arena. The hotel was perfect for this, only a couple of minutes walk out of the back entrance through the NEC sites footpaths. This meant we could walk there and back extremely easily. The room was looked modern, was well furnished and clean. We didn't have an amazing view, over a flat roof and pipes, but other rooms had views of the lake. There was a good choice of toiletries in the bathroom in case you forget anything. The staff were always extremely helpful. When we were looking for somewhere to eat during the evening they provided us with menus for local restaurants and directions. Although there are 2/3 places to eat on site. You have to pay for parking as with most hotels in this area. Overall we were very happy with our stay here.
