Staff Awesome, Room Meh...
Our window was broken, it opened only 5 cm for fresh air and the bottom was damaged causing a constant draft. The concierge and Security manager were amazingly helpful when I needed to get ahold of the airport immediately!

It was a last minute booking so had no choice , had to take what was available. Enjoyed the stay except considered it very expensive for the type of twin bed rooms we had. Very small single beds (on wheels) , furniture & fittings very dated, & hall & room had a stale smell. The Safe refused to work, no water or refrigerator in the rooms. At best a 3 star. Rooms were spotless . Breakfast excellent but long queues for breakfast & hot food. Reception staff & conseigue staff were excellent .

I was told there is a free shuttle to the airport every 20 minutes round the clock. However , I had to pay GBP 6 to the "Taxi driver" who drove me there !

Having stayed in this hotel for the past 10 odd years and have paid over the top for mediocre accom because of the excellent location, this year really took the biscuit. After an excellent check in, I proceeded to my room to find the bathroom floor all water with a leak. Got that sorted and moved on to something to eat....£40 for an only ok buffet . Back to my room, no heating working, even though the thermo indicated 25d only blowing cold aid. Informed reception in morning expecting an improvement or a room change. Returned to room that night no change. Having used the iron and ironing board before leaving the room, I didn't want to store it away before leaving the room as it was still hot, however, nobody else stored it away either it was still there after the room hade been made up. Efficient check out in morning and informed them of the outlined issues to be greeted with a "oh, thank you for telling us" I for one am glad there is a new hotel opening next door as I for one will not be returning. 4 star in location but nothing else

Staff attentive. Great room rate. Fantastic breaksfast.
All in all a great stay and highly recommended. The driver of the shuttle bus to & from the hotel could do with a smile every now and again, but he has a certain character. Overall great front of house staff, very attentive and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Take a bow Hilton Metropole.

what a disappointment.. I cannot remember EVER waiting in front of a reception desk for some 25 minutes just to check in! Staff were in no hurry.. several positions were unmanned, which did not help, either. No apology was offered. The last time I checked into a HOSTEL was quicker and more efficient, leave alone a multi- starred, world renowned hotel. The room was ok but not outstanding. No fridge. Only grainy, terrestrial TV reception on the flatscreen. You could choose from a mind boggling 4 channels.. I could go on, but you get the idea..
