Overrated Awful Hotel”
I have travelled quite a bit and stayed in many wonderful hotels....this was one of the worst!! Very expensive for what you get. The hotel staff is not helpful or in any way customer service oriented. The outdoor area and the renowned golf course are the only nice parts of the hotel. The actual hotel looks old and in need of a makeover and the staff needs hospitality, 5-Star service training. Would never recommend this hotel!
Could be better.”
I wish the staff members treated well from the beginning. Everyone comes with positive expectation to a new place. If you judge people before you really know who they are, that's unprofessional. Customers deserve to be treated with humanity nothing less by any factors.
Cost of services and parking were not clear or explained when booking.”
Charges were not clearly explained or noted when booking and seemed very high; especially the subsequent charge for a phone call to the hotel restaurant to make a reservation there; nickel and diming guests. Hotel did waive the services charges but booking documents were poorly written and not clear (hotel agreed).
Great spacious room.”
Pros- lovely place Cons- a little far from main strip, definitely need car.
very nice, but everything costs extra”
the room was great with nice finishes, really comfortable bed and exceptional bathroom. parking is $26/day. if you request a late checkout, they will charge you without telling you. breakfast is not included with the room. the exterior of the hotel looks out of date. the staff was friendly and helpful, but it feels like the hotel will charge extra for every little thing.
location is horrible ”
i was very unsatisfied with my stay. i do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Parking was a big problem - the elevaters only went from the first floor to the second floor, we were on the third floor...You had to pay for parking and needed a pass to park in the covered structure. The service was not that great, the front desk needs help!
Needs more lighting in the room, faucets not nice.”
Price is okay- should not charged for parking.
Great retreat away from downtown”
We stayed at the Hilton La Jolla for 2 nights. It was a great hotel to get away from things. Comfy room and view of the pool/golf course. Close to the beach. La Jolla is a lovely area of San Diego.
Calming, beautiful, relaxing, fun.”
We went as a bacholorette party and I am a breastfeeding mum. The staff at the hotel let me use the freezer so that I could bring all my milk back on the plane for my baby. They were so kind. They even put us away from everyone at the hotel - since they knew we were partying with the bride to be. So nice. Everything was wonderful. Pool, food, staff and rooms. We were all very happy. I am definitely going back with family and friends.
very comfortable, clean and nice hotel!”
The hotel was located pretty far from everything else. I think it's close to a university. Parking cost $25. Wifi not included.
Fully enjoyed our stay. ”
Enjoyed our stay. Excellent accomodations. Had to pay for parking so keep that in mind when booking a room. The grounds and location were impressive. Really enjoyed eating outside on the patio for a late lunch overlooking the pool, golf course and beach.
Great location, hotel and price”
I was intially concerned that the price was too low for the quality of hotel. I had stayed at the property before so I knew what to expect but I thought there might be a catch because of the price. Everything was great and the value was incredible
The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Pool area was relaxing and the view of the golf course from the room was nice.
Nice stay at the hotel.”
The stay at the Hilton La Jolla Torry Pines was very nice. The only issue I had was being charged $25 a night to park my car in the hotel parking lot. I feel this is an unneeded expense as this is a very secluded hotel with a multi-story parking lot specifically only serving the hotel guest. This in not a urban area where others would park in the lot so to charge is simply a "nickle and dime" approach to make a few extra dollars from their guest, who most-likely will be driving a car. The parking fee is completely inappropriate.
Nice, but would expect free wifi in room for guests (like doubletree by hilton)
thanks but no thanks”
rooms okay but need urgent maintenance. faucets loose and outlets defective. furniture of low quality and cabinet doors hanging. parking is 30us$ per day. menu is generic. rooms do not face the ocean but face each other so curtains need to be kept close. a pure disappointment...
Booked for 8 nights, but subsequently changed to 7 nights and the reception confirmed the same at the checking in. however, still I have been charged for 08 nights. please refund the additional 01 nights charge. Also, the 01st night when arriving at the hotel after travelling for 36 hours, I was told that my room was given and I was put up in a country club at 11.30pm in the night (21/09/13).
Would recommend for business trip only”
