Great location. Lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. ”
Had a great time celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. This hotel is in a great location close to the city centre with plenty of bars and restaurants in the area. Close to Oxford Street Station. Great if you want to shop. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay extra special. Great restaurant with fresh food and an excellent choice for breakfast. We visited Cloud 23 bar. I personally thought it was a little bit over priced, but it was a lovely setting. The hotel rooms I felt were a little bit tired with worn carpets and furniture. This was the only downside and would not put me off future stays. Would definitely like to return. Thank you to all.
Great view of the city”
Very hospitable stuff, spacious room, sparkling clean, great breakfast and one of the tallest building in d city, hence great view esp from Executive Lounge. Wish could get upgraded... However, not much shop or restaurant nearby...
A let down”
I've been wanting to stay here for a very very long time. My experience was ruined by 3 factors - staff attempting to charge me despite already paying in advance (£240+ for a single night, a joke), a fridge in my room which I was not allowed to use unless it was to use their minibar (not allowed to store your own drinks) and finally being given a check in time of 3pm but being made to wait until 5pm because our room wasn't ready. Repeatedly told front desk staff would come find us to tell us the room is ready, 4 times we had to go ourselves to find out. When it finally was ready, apparently it had been ready for a while. All that time myself and my pregnant wife are sat around the cafe buying overpriced food and drink with not even an apology or offer to discount on the cafe bill for being forced to wait for our room to be ready. The main reason I've wanted to stay here is for the views, and my word the views are sensational. But everything else, for a brand like Hilton, is a joke.
Having booked the Hilton mainly due to the fact it has jacuzzi and pool facilities we were told only upon arrival that the pool and jacuzzi facilities are unavailable this should have been stated prior to booking as this was a special occasion it too the shine off what should have been a good memory. Also upon arrival we were charged for a breakfast which I had to argue the point we had it included under the original booking after which I was refunded.
Not value for money ”
Poorly designed and not clean properly. It’s not value for money
Disappointed with staff”
This hotel is excellent by most measures but unfortunately two things annoyed me during my visit. Despite having paid for Breakfast, Hilton were adamant that this was not included in my rate and made me pay again. Secondly, I felt that the lady at check out was quite condescending, not just about the breakfast, but regarding a specific issue around invoicing. I won't go into specifics, but I was quite surprised at their conduct. All of the other staff encounters were of a very high standard.
50th burthday treat”
Started with afternoon tea in cloud 23 stunning views across Manchester then we checked into our room again with stunning views and was given a choice at reception on which floor we would prefer. Room was spacious bed was comfortable but not very big when your paying this much a super king size would of made it for us. Breakfast was lovely with lots to chose from hot or cold worth paying for as it sets you up for the day. Would I stay here again yes for a special occasion at the price I paid but would not pay any more than that for a room.
The Manchester Eye”
We only stayed for one night but we found the hole experience very good. I visited the sky bar for a drink on the 23rd floor. Really enjoyed it. This is not a Weatherspoons. The drinks do cost more. But if you want quality and comfort it is worth spending a little extra.
Not the best but not the worst by any stretch”
Ok, although I expected more for the Hilton experience...the beds are more comfy in a premier inn & larger!! The windows of our 12th floor room were dirty so the excellent view was marred... however the staff were lovely and very helpful, the ice machine was a blessing and booking into Cloud 23 was the best part of the night!
Lovely stay I like Hilton hotels in general usually use them and got married in Hilton Hawaii. Clean stylish rooms didnt dine there on this occasion but I know is good standard. Like Cloud 23 bar for cocktails etccomfortable and nice panoramic view of Manchester
luxury stay at the hilton”
We had an amazing one night stay here we were on the 17th floor and had a fantastic view of the city the room was clean and cosy. We checked in early and made our way into the city when back we went to the spa which was lovely not amazing or the best one I've been to but the views were great. We then headed to the executive lounge for drinks and canapés which were very disappointing everything had a fishy taste so we didn't have much. Luckily we did not pay extra for this and it was included in our stay. We shortly left and went out to Dimitri's a Greek restaurant across the road from the hotel. Highly recommend food was fab staff lovely too. After we went back to the hotel and decided to go to cloud 23 for a cocktail we had to wait 10 mins which wasn't a problem but by time we got up there there was hardly anyone there, I suppose they don't want it too crowded so people could see the amazing views of the city. We had a cocktail each really expensive for what they were but was really nice and your paying for the view. Headed back to our room and had a really nice comfy sleep. Got up in the night to find a letter under the door saying we had a guest charge not a nice surprise you want to see in the morning! So got dressed and went to speak to staff about it. Turned out it was just a mix up and that it would be wiped thank goodness! Staff were really friendly and have really good communication. Continental breakfast was included so we went and tried it. It was the worst breakfast we have ever had although scrambled eggs and sausages were tolerable. It was included with our stay so we didn't pay extra but if you have to pay for breakfast here make sure its not the continental one not worth it. Checked out easily and went to the mosi museum a short walk away as we still had an hour of parking left. We parked in the car park across the road from the Hilton as we could not find the hotel parking at all. Turned out cheaper anyway £12 for 24hrs. Overall our stay was amazing
Would stay again!”
I could not recommend this hotel more! We loved it. I am a sucker for cleanlinessðos was clean to the max, everywhere!!We paid for an Executive Suite which was more than worth it, the room was gorgeous&immaculate on 20th floor. Views were breathtaking. The staff were so helpful. We forgot our toothbrushes&orang reception&switching 2 minutes we had toothbrushes&hypothecate. Such fan service. The Executive Lounge (although a little cold!) was great. Nibbles not enough for tea really but still tasty and there was pour your own drinks, including wine, beers and spirits between 6&8pm! The breakfast in there was also good, so quiet&peaceful&to take in those views so early, on 23rd floor was worth the money we paid. Would definately stay again x
Loved it!! Will be returning 100%”
Amazing!!! Loved every minute of it! The customer service was amazing, iv never experienced service like that before! Seriously well done! The only thing I would suggest is that the guests get priority to cloud 23.
Great location for a weekend break.”
My husband and I stayed for a weekend. We found everything great except for room service and the housekeeping wasn't up to 5*standard. We didn't find the bed very comfortable. It was okay for 2 nights wouldn't wanted to stay any longer.
Great hotel, perfect for anyone wanting good nightlife in Manchester. The staff were excellent and the hotel is of a very good standard for a Hilton. We were booked in for breakfast and you cant complain for choice and room which was ample. Would recommend the hotel for almost everything in Manchester as it ticks all the boxes.
Situated in a good location. Staff were really helpful. There was no parking left at the hotel so we parked at the carpark opposite which was expensive but able to get discount through the hotel. Breakfast, a bit slow at times to be seated but food was really nice and set us up for the day. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was clean and spacious.
Interesting hotel great views.”
good location 2 minutes from train station and tram stop, also free bus service to city centre runs past hotel. a few minutes walk from opera house. 15 minute walk to shops. friendly staff. free snack and drinks including alcoholic drinks for guests stopping information executive rooms. very fast check-in and checkout
great view from the 15th floor - but.............”
I arrived by car, and it was not immediately obvious how or where to turn into the hotel forecourt, once established total chaos outside with little room for cars to pull in/park. Eventually, I was able to park and go and find someone to get my luggage out. Check-in was smooth, but staff tried the hard sell me the breakfast (I had room service....wish I hadn't). The room had a great view on the city and beyond from my 15th floor room. However, the room looked really old, the bed was horribly soft and the bathroom looked clean but I was welcomed by the last guests pubic hear. Breakfast was pretty poor, hard poached eggs, old looking mushrooms and the worst tasting sausages ever. Check-out was smooth and the staff helpful. Overall view - well over priced for the overall experience!
great hotel. staff very pleasant and helpful, ”
a shame that bar 23 was shut for a refurb. but appreciated that it had to be done as i had been in earlier in the year and thought it looked a bit shabby. it was a shame they wouldn't allow our two guests into the executive lounge with us even though we offered to pay for there drinks. so we was unable to go in. it was our honeymoon so we missed out on that too.
Nice facilities good location ”
Nice beds, good service and excellent facilities. Free safe. About 18 channels on the TV whih is standard, but i dont know why i was expecting satalite tv seen as we paid for a room? The pay per view was a rip off, it was over 20 pound to order a film, i found that excessive i wouldnt mind paying 10 pound. We had a standard twin room which had everything you expect , quite modern, comfy , however the beds are a little close together but are nice comfy beds but are single beds, however and the room is big enough for a couple of nights but not massive no sort of living area, (it wouldnt fit 2 double bed ins) I imagine there are good views to be had if you get a high floor as the windows are large and the rooms have air con which is very refreshing but we were given a room on the 4th floor even though we asked for a high floor. They did let us check in early with no extra charge which was nice. The gym seemed adequate the pool ok for a little dip but a little small for serious swimming and its a little narrow so any more than 6-7 in it is packed really. The steam room and sauna and jaccuzzi was nice I did not try the breakfast and the prices for the room service and the mini bar were quite expensive to be expected at the hilton i suppose so we did not use this. We did use the fridge to store water and a few cokes that we bought, we emptied some of theres and put them back in the next day. When we checked out they tryed to charge 40 pound for the mini bar, as i said the prices are expensive , we didnt pay as we explained we hadnt used anything simply used the fridge, it must have sensors to know you have taken things out? so leave it alone! Bar 23 was good a little bit of a wait but worth it, the cocktails were nice, the views good and a nice chilled out ambionce. I would only really stay here for an hour or so, until the novity wares off as it is more like a resturant than a bar, you get given a table and have to order with a waitress who brings your drinks
