Excellent location for the cruise terminal”
We stayed at the Hilton Miami Downtown hotel for one night prior to our cruise. The location was absolutley perfect for this and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. From arrival at the drive in lobby to check-out on Saturday morning we were met with smiles and constant offers of assistance. The room was lovely and spacious and had a lovely fresh coffee mahine. The views across the city were amazing especially at night. Cabs were plentiful on Saturday morning and it took us no longer than 5 minutes to reach the port. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a pre-cruise stay.
Great room, nice bathroom, good gym”
We had a really good stay. Very comfortable beds and it was wonderful to find a room that accommodated two single travellers without forcing us into twin-size beds! (We are adult sisters travelling together). The gym had a lot of good equipment. The location was great for access to the American Airlines Arena, where we attended a concert. It isn't great if you're planning to spend time in Miami/South Beach. We stayed here for a couple of nights for our concert and then moved hotels to the beach (this was pre-planned; we didn't cut our Hilton visit short), and I would suggest that this is the best way to see the best of Miami, especially if you don't have a car. Downtown Miami isn't terribly interesting; the beach is where it's happening. Only downside: the concierge wasn't as helpful as he could have been. We got the strong impression that he had ideas about what was and wasn't a good idea for our plans, rather than listening to us and trying to give us the best advice based on our actual goals. We didn't have a car, but all his advice was based around the idea that we should have one (rather than dealing with our actual situation). An example: we were told there was no ability to visit Kennedy Space Center - that it was too far - but we managed to book a bus tour for this so this information wasn't correct.
Not the best hotel, but good staff and great bed”
when i first arrived at the hotel, was impressed by the astonishing parking fee: usd self parking or 28 usd for the vallet (per day). insane!! so be ready for it... check in was pretty good, simple and fast. although the guy who checked us in was a bit weird when giving informations.. kind of like a robot that was struggling to remember what was to be said.. but good nevertheless.. when arriving on my room, what a disappointment. the double queen bedroom was pretty bad. the view, as request to the port, wasn't that great. we were on a low floor (6th) and pretty much couldn't enjoy any view at all. room looked a bit old but the worst was the awful smoking smell.. yes, cigarettes!! checked signs all over the room saying it was a non smoking (as is the entire hotel) and called reception. when asked the staff if it was smoking or non smoking, it seemed to me like they were already aware of the issue, as his reply was simple asking me "do you smell cigarettes? sorry for that, it is a non smoking hotel but sometimes we can't control" he offered me another room, on a higher level and with a great view. in fact, mr. sinam (as i recall his name) was very helpful and provided me with a much better room. it was one king sized bed and the view amazing, with two big windows on the 17th floor with a proper view to the port. i thank him for saving my couple of days in miami after a nice stay in orlando... after that, it was just amazing. bed was absolutely fantastic (as always on hilton) and the bathroom very clean and good sized. the staff is always very friendly and despite the noise in the hallways early morning we had no issues on our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. another great point is that we found much better staying in this hotel which is right on the port (5mins to miami beach) rather than miami beach itself. it is more pleasant, not so many drunk crazy people making noise all night and saves you from the traffic that miami beach can get often..
Day Before Cruising - Great Hotel!”
The Hilton Miami Downtown was very enjoyable. My husband and I stayed one night prior to taking a cruise. Very elegant and nicely landscaped / decorated on lower level. Our room was a good size and so was the bathroom. Very clean. The view during the day was disappointing, however, at night absolutely beautiful. The hotel is conveniently located only a 10-minute cab ride away from the Port of Miami. The hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays. The bar area was nice and relaxing. The waitresses took great care of us. The concierge was impressive! Registration person was great as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would certainly stay here again.
Great location and quality service”
I stayed one night in this lovely hotel on Dec. 17, 2012. Everything is good. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Miami, very close to port area and the city center. The service is good, and the receptionists were very friendly. Prices are quite competitive if you make your booking well in advance.
We liked Miami Downtown Hilton”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Miami Hilton Downtown. The staff was helpful, the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We liked the location and the easy access to the metro mover and the ease of getting to the port for our cruise. The concierge even let us have a late check out due to the fact our flights had been cancelled twice due to weather so we would have a chance to explore downtown Miami a bit before our cruise left.Thank you Miami Hilton Downtown. We would definately stay there again and recommend the hotel highly.
Miami Downtown Hilton”
Miami downtown Hilton is ideally located in an area which is quiet, but at the same time close to all the activities that a normal tourist would like to do. The port is within a few minutes of a taxi ride from the hotel, which was ideal for us since we took two cruises from the Miami port and the stays at the hotel before and in between the two cruises was perfect. The sightseeing tours organized by the concierge were excellent, the concierge service was excellent. He waited at the meeting point for the tour bus to arrive and made sure that all the guests booked for the tour were properly seated. This was more than we expected, 100 % marks to him. The room was good, the coffee maker was fine. But I think the hotel should cater for tea drinkers as well. An electric kettle to boil hot water would be a good addition to the room. In short, our stay was good and that is the reason we booked the hotel again within a week for a second stay.
Very nice, clean hotel!”
Great location, 10 minutes to south Beach. Clean, professional hotel and staff. Pool could be much better foe Miami standards.. Beware of $28 per day for valet and they will try and make you pay $200 deposit as well. Other than that, I will stay here everytime we're in Miami!!
Hilton Miami Downtown”
This hotel was recently purchased by Hilton from the Raddison. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The rooms are nice and the staff was helpful. The hotel attracts a large cruise business as it is close to the Port of Miami, this makes Saturday and Sundays very busy. The hotel is also located close to the American Airlines Arena (home of the Miami Heat) and other concert halls. There are a few restaurants in the area, mostly in other hotels. This makes dining options limited and expensive.
Stayed night before NCL Cruise”
This Hilton had nice recently renovated rooms and good views of the city and/or the ocean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us directions to the free downdown trolly, so we were able to enjoy a night out in Miami. The downside was the ground-level construction at the Hilton, and construction nearby, but it wasn't a problem until later morning hours. We were glad to find a cab ride to the Port of Miami was only between ten and twelve dollars.
good hotel in Miami”
we enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were big and clean with all conveniences. Coffeemaker could be a little better. But the views are great. Easy to reach from the airport. We took a cruise from the Miami port and it was easy to get there from this hotel. The staff is generally helpful although the front desk service could improve. The buffet is great. the coffeeshop is also good. Checking e-mail is also easy. We liked the concierge service the most. He directed us to metro and bus service that were both convenient and money saving.
near enough aand good enough”
though currently having the ground floor refurbished i found the hotel to be clean efficient and convenient. the outdoor pool was a nice place to have coffeee and set back enough to enjoy reclining in the sun. obviously i was not there to lay by the pool all day though and i found the hotel to be convenient - 10 minute walk to downtown, though not an awful lot happening - restaurants, bars etc in the immediate vicinity. room very nice after recent extensive renovation. take note though the hotel is now called the hilton.
hilton downtown miami”
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great regarding resturants, things to do and distance to the port of miami. The shuttle service to the port was okay, they jammed us into van but the driver was pleasent. We ate at the bar and were able to order anything from the resturant menu.
Greta hotel in Miami”
Near Miami bayside (20 Min by walk). Very nice staff, room wide And Clean.
Very comfortable but location so-so”
I chose to stay in Hilton becoz the price is quite okay for a downtown location. But it turned out not that convenient. We need to drive a few blocks to find a good restaurant. Overall the hotel is quite cozy and you can see the view of Miami beach from the hotel room.
Great Location to depart for our cruise from”
Huge, Luxurious, Clean, Comfortable, Well Appointed Room.......as you would expect from a major Hilton Hotel.............the extras that made our overnight stay memorable were what surprised and delighted us. From the doorman downstairs to the front desk staff we were greeted with smiles and courtesy. I had asked for a room with a sea view if possible, we were given a room with floor to ceiling picture windows overlooking the cruise ship dock, the lights at night were stunning. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, the staff were friendly & the food was delicious. The (2) queen beds were very comfortable, & we awoke at dawn to the amazing view of our ship docking in golden sunlight, 12 o’clock checkout and a shuttle bus from the door to the ship......perfect. Happy Travels.
Great hotel not far South Beach”
This is a great hotel if you like to be close to South Beach without paying the price or dealing with the crowds. The rooms have recently been renovated and everything is well-maintained and clean. Overall, great experience.
Miami Hilton”
My buddy and I from Boston stayed here St Pattys day. We caught a cab to south beach for $10, the shuttle to Dolphins Stadium saved us batteling traffic and getting lost. It was very nice to have that option. The rooms and beds were great and the view from our room although not of downtown as we were facing the other direction was awesome. The parking is on the ground floor the you have to get in an elevator to check in then another elevator to your room kind of a draw back. Overall it was great
Great hotel with good service”
We were staying in that hotel three nights. As we were traveling by car, it is difficult to say about hotel location, if You are traveling another way, but location for travelers by car is good. Good service, even cars are parked by hotel stuff, rooms are big and clean. As we have ordered rooms without breakfast, additional breakfast was excellent, wide range of choices, but quite expensive. One problem was with wireless, as in the rooms it is not free, just in the lobby. But we found some free internet in the room too, just signal was weak.
Downtown Hilton”
This hotel had an excellent location for our purpose. It was close to area entertainment and was an excellent location to the cruise ship terminal. The hotel staff was very excellent and extremely helpful. They made sure that we had everything we needed! We asked for a room with a view when we checked in and the front desk gave us an excellent view of the city. The only problem we had was that the hotel was under construction at the time and there was some construction noise. Besides that though our stay was great and we'd definitely stay again!
