Big Hotel”

Lots of swimming pools

a rather old hotel. not a fan of the shower but the room itself is big and spacious. the hotel has a disneyland feel as you can take either a boat ride (on a man made canal) or a monorail to your room. these features are good if you have kids as it may keep your kids entertained. for us though, it's more hassle than its worth. the novelty ran out after the first ride and soon it feels like riding on a public transportation. we had to wait and it's always packed. there's no beach access but there is a man made lagoon and plenty of pools to choose from. the resort is big and spread out. food here is disappointing except for the chinese restaurant kirin. don't bother with the boat landing cantina and the japanese restaurant. they are overpriced and quite awful. the hotel is located at waikoloa village, there are more restaurants and supermarkets at the king and queen shopping centre so go there. there's a resort fee of $25 per day in addition to your room charges.

this hotel is off the charts with what you can do”

there is so much to see and do. The art is entertaining enough

I loved how exciting it was to be in this hotel but i could not do everything. There is so much to experience on these hotel grounds. This is something very rare. Gorgeous location, beautiful surroundings too if you want to venture off down the road for some shopping. The hotel is on the ocean, plus has spectacular pools and restaurants. I can't say enough about this hotel. It would be perfect as a couple, for wedding, honeymoon or romantic getaway. It so huge you could go with a big group too. Maybe a family would enjoy too. It is for everyone. They have much more than I am writing about as it is a full adventure experience. Dolphins, snorkeling, sea life and breathtaking views. Statues everywhere and it's much better than the websites, you have to see it to believe it. Just be aware of the hotel surcharges and parking fees. Your bill goes up before you step into the hotel. It's worth it if you are prepared to pay more than the booking, then it's no surprise. Parking from $15 and hotel surcharge $25 per day.

Overpriced and inconvenient”

If you want to experience the place you re visiting, do not stay here. The resort is enormous and well maintained but our room was tiny and we needed to take a tram to get to it. The parking is expensive and once you have parked your car in it’s pricey spot, there is an uphill hike to the lobby. Valet parking is closer, so valet parking staff have less of a hike. This makes no sense. There is no beach at his resort! Just a rather dirty looking man made little “lagoon”, really a pool with sand. There is a resort fee that does not seem to have been adjusted for the unavailable COVID closed amenities like the fitness center and one has to request room cleaning and new towels. We were provided with paper cups and were questioned about our request for glasses as if it was an unreasonable request. I have stayed at other Hilton resorts and this will be my last. If you just want to hang out at a Hilton, the grounds are nice but if you go to Hawaii to experience the islands and great beaches, there are better and less expensive alternatives

great resort for anybody”

convenient location, comfortable rooms, great amenities

We spent 4 nights in the hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. We liked the pools, lagoon, and decorations in the resort lobbies and hallways. The only comment I have is I wish hotel prices/rates were more visible on agoda - when I booked it I had one price, and then we came to the hotel to check in, we were charged daily fee for amenities whether we used them or not. Parking was also quite expensive.

Awful service, good swimming pool

I stayed at Hilton Waikoloa Village last September. When my huby and I wanted to use the gym, it was locked, so we called a staff. The staff never showed up even if we waited 30 min in front of the gym. We called 4 times to check when they can get there, but nobody answered 2 times out of 4. We were so tired of that situation, so just went to the swimming pool instead after wasting 30 min. Wasn't that pleasant experience!

Swimming pool

We stayed at this nice hotel for 2 days only. It's a huge hotel resort and need to catch train or boat from reception to your room. If you just want to relax and quiet , I would suggest stay in the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is very expensive, please drive to shopping centre which just nearby hotel(5mins).

Absolutely gorgeous but far from outside activitie”

Resort activities, Overall Look, Service

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were amazing and there was so much to do in the resort itself. The only disappointing part was that there was no transport going to outside activities such as swimming with manta rays and seeing volcanoes. We were told if we want to do any of that, we had to hire a car and drive ourselves as there were no tour companies operating that would come there. This is extremely disappointing especially if you are not comfortable driving in another country or you cannot drive. Other than that this hotel is amazing and I highly recommend it.

overpriced for the level of service”

amenities in the resort

the resort is really beautiful and has all necessary amenities. you can swim with dolphins and enjoy various pools and restaurants. however, going to big island with its many beautiful beaches and opportunities to see nature and experience adventure, it is not everybody's thing to just stay in this hotel. the actual beach access at the hotel was below average of what hawaii has to offer. furthermore, it depends if you are an international traveler or a us based traveler. for international standards, this hotel is never a five star hotel. the buildings and rooms are very old, while the monorail gives a futuristic look. the services are if at all average - and for that horribly overpriced. most restaurants close very early (around 9pm). the japanese restaurant is average, but not "wow" and for the prices they charge for this average food you lose your appetite. i suggest enjoying the resort, but having a rental car and planning to dine outside. ...oh and they charge horrible prices for the parking as well which is just wrong in my view. i recommend this hotel primarily for families with kids. couples without kids or young travelers definitely have better options. families with kids though may find the location and offers very convenient and secure for the kids.

Very good”

A mega resort carved into the otherwise lunar landscape in the 1980s. An excellent welcome (from Maria Elena) at the front desk! The place could have 'take-away' in its name because their restaurants are at a 3-star level on a good day (but they do offer a shuttle for US$2 pp every 20 mins to a shopping mall where you can eat in a food court or wide range of restaurants). The lagoon is as great as the pictures say it, the dolphins are real and mega cute. There are also turtles, flamingos and parrots on site as well. The spa is great, really worth your time! The rooms require an upgrade even in the Makai (their high-end section). We left a pair of prescription glasses upon changing rooms (given the noise level of our neighbour), but the cleaning staff never found it. We talked to them the next day, and the day after, emailed them, filled out their forms, etc but the glasses never appeared. Poor form from a place that is so loud about values otherwise!
