Not worth the money
This is priced as a top tier hotel. The Hyatt, Radisson, and Crown Plaza are all in a similar price range in the city. Club Himalaya is slight cheaper also on a hilltop resort (Nagarkot) similar to the Himalayan Height Resort. That being said the Himalayan Height resort is far inferior to those other hotels. The Good: The location is beautiful and the views are great when the weather is clear. The Bad: The location is difficult to get to. Once you are at the hotel there is nothing else around, like a good restaurant, for at least a one hour drive. That wouldn't be a problem if the restaurant food was good. It isn't. The food is pretty bad and VERY expensive. The service isn't good either. The wifi doesn't work. The power kept going off and they only have back up power for the lights. Some of the hotel staff were friendly but most were very rude. We booked using Agoda and the check-in process was very difficult. So, if you want a hilltop retreat for an overnight stay I would recommend looking into hotels in Nagarkot or Dulikhel. If you are looking for a nice hotel that is good value for money try the Radisson, Hyatt, or Crown Plaza in the city.

Beautiful views over Kathmandu valley
The views, price and quietness of the accommodation were the highlights. The downsides were the journey to get there (2hrs from airport) and the outdated rooms and bathrooms. The walk to Champa Devi is spectacular, as are the views from the hotel terrace.

Not for international. Nothing luxury. It's an updated lodge.
As I've worked at 4-5 stars hotels and resorts in the U.S., this resort is not luxury at all as they mentioned. This resort can be good only for local Nepalis. They put wrong contact information everywhere, so when I needed to call them in emergency, I couldn't communicate at all which is very unprofessional. For my 3 weeks of Nepal trip, I didn't have any problem to use power outlets EXCEPT AT THIS RESORT. Also, the hot shower wasn't hot; my roommate skipped the shower. The room didn't have a phone, so if I needed something, I had to walk to the front desk even late at night. The wifi didn't work at all in the room. They didn't have a resort/facility directory or information at all. Nobody mentioned where the resort is located. It's at the top of a mountain. To get there, you must make sure your taxi driver can drive to up there. If not, the driver will pullover in the middle of nowhere and you would have to climb the mountain with your damn luggage.

Reality check please!
Lovely landscape, beautiful views (if season is right)
To evaluate the Hattiban Resort in a very comprehencive form: + lovely landscape with a great view down to Kathmandu valey and the high mountains (7k meters plus) behind + very friendly staff + very good kitchen (you must try, even short menue) - - not 'deluxe' at all!!! 1-- transfer service with own 4x4 possible; but sorry, since two weeks car is broken... The road up to the Hotel is REAL off road!!!!!! You are trapped there... 2-- No heating system working (first night +4 degrees outside, more or less the same inside; following nights quite similar, but rubber tubes filled with warm water were offered); no warm water on demand. Both depends on availability of electricity, obviously the Hattiban Resort is not in charge of (sufficient) own generator capacity even just a few guests. - - room and bath room were clean, but far away from 'de luxe'; more 'Youth Hostel' 3-- Sitting in the restaurant with boots and winter-jacket as standard, call it romantic or not. 4-- Get pissed off when Credit Card payment was first not possible ('line broken') and demand for USD. I told them that they must have a manual (old fashion) paper based payment option. It took 50 minutes to clear our restaurant bills from the last days...

Einfach zu teuer fuer Nepal
Lage, Aussicht
Beste Gruesse, Manfred Seebauer
