Two nights at His and My Rental”

I stayed for two nights in Satun, a nice city (or more like big town). It is a little bit rural but an easy 10 minute walk into town. I found the facilities awkward because you were staying in someone's house and wasn't sure what to use, and the show/toilet was quite far away in the basement and there were lots of mosquitos. Though he did give me some repellant on arrival. It was comfy and a good bed with good wifi. But a little deserted for a solo traveller as I was the only one there...

    room inside a private home”

was completely alone in the house, clean,

felt a little awkward as the owner worked all day then came home for ten minutes and left again so i was alone in his house all the time. the noise from the traffic especially early in the morning was particularly loud and to walk down to the main road you have to beware of all the dogs who are not used to pedestrians..

    His & My Rentel Satun”

    Pleasant, price

This small guest house is nice and welcoming, i spent one night there, the owner is nice and helpfull. You are 12min from the center by walk, but you will find some food 30 meters from the house. Very good wifi, hot shower, and nice room. I recommand this place.

    Friendly staff”

Friendly/helpful owners, good value budget accommodation

We arrived in Satun later than expected so it was dark when we were walking around Satun town trying to find His & My Rentel (which nobody in town seemed to know about). After walking around for about one hour with our heavy backpacks, we finally found it and what a relief! (NB: If walking out of town, take the second road on the left and then the next right). The owner was friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay enrolee to Langkawi. The shared bathroom was also very clean and had good hot water (and nice shower head!). In the morning, we helped ourselves to coffee in the kitchen and the owner passed on some very useful information about the ferry to Langkawi, including ferry times and the cheapest way to get to the ferry terminal from the guesthouse (30 baht songthaew from outside the Shell Station, about 2kms walk from the guesthouse). Would stay again.

Feel like stay at friend's old Thai house.”

Value for money, big bed room,

I liked to stay at this place. It is old Thai house. Big bed room but I found some dust at some corner .The owner was friendly. Value for money and I don't want to complain much. It was reasonable price.

    Just for short staying”

    Good wifi, free drinking water

Just spent one nigh in Satun on the way to Langkawi. The staff was very friendly and helpful, he arranged the tuktuk to the pier. The room was a little dirty and very noisy because of the traffic, no aircon, but the bed was really confortable. The bathroom is very simple and extremly dirty. Free coffee, good wifi. The bus and the taxi driver did not know this place, it was really hard to find it. I can recommend this hotel just for a short staying.

    Excellent Value for Money”

It was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Excellent the owner was really pleasant and helpful and the room was the nicest we stayed in the whole of Thailand. We used Satun as a stopover before getting the ferry to Langkawi we wish we had stayed longer there as the rest of Thailand was hugely disappointing.

    A Family Feel to it”

    The Price, Cleanliness and Friendliness

This hotel is a little hard to find, if you turn right at the primary school and its the first junction to the right. We went in August, we were the only ones in the house. The owner is nice and helpful with getting around and finding food. About 8 km from ferry port to Lankawi, Malaysia and can take a tuk tuk from the 7-11 to get there for 40B.

Don't waste your time coming to Satun!”

The room had good Internet. That is all

Uncomfortable, had to share a bathroom with 8 other people. Disappointed by previous reviews. Would not come back. Poor value for money. Incredibly loud at night from wildlife. Don't expect a good nights sleep here!

    Basic, clean, nice porch!”

    Cultural experience, friendly owner, cheap

This is a good value for the money. The owner speaks English and is very helpful, but gives you privacy. There is a good restaurant in front of the house, they don't speak English, but they have an English menu you can point at. The beds were comfortable and clean, the shared bathroom was pretty basic. No hot water. There is a water boiler, basic kitchen utensils, and refrigerator that you can use as well. As for small kids, the only problem was the steep stairs leading down to the bathroom. But they loved the little front yard to play in.

    Excellent stay in Satun”

We loved the relaxed nature of both the hotel and the owner. He was always ready to help, but was also discrete. The ambiance of the old wooden house was lovely and peaceful.

Charming guesthouse. Family run. The lady of the house gave us delicious coconut sticky rice in the morning. Free tea/coffee and water. A clean and pleasant night's accommodation in transit from Langkawi into Thailand.

    Wonderful family”

    Personal attention

this was just an overnight stop before the ferry to langkawi. i was greeted warmly and given privacy. the place is hard to find, even the local moto outfit couldn't locate it. eventually, i talked to some locals outside the 7-11 who knew where it was and they were nice enough to give me a lift. the door locks are unusual, but a nice quite place to break up a long distance trip (phuket to penang)
