        Stunning views ”

The room, the view, the garden

The setting is stunning, looking up a valley and watching the water buffalo come down. The lodges are comfortable and the garden is great for lolling about in. It takes quite a while to get to and there is not much to do once you are there. But if you know that, that's OK. The food is not great for vegetarians although they tried. And they were not offering lunch when we were there which meant a long drive back down the hill.

        fantastic location, staff and peaceful.”

serene location, beer house across the street, fantasyic staff.

Second thing after the stunning view was the cleanliness of the room. Granted, the room comfort was just about there, and it was a Tad dark, the rain shower in room 125 was the best I had in Chiangmai area. Fantastic, especially after a night of drinking at beer house across the street. The sheets and towels were clean, the bed a bit hard and the left window wont close properly so it got a Tad chilly at night. They have open fire pit to share between four rooms and they also provide Hmong dance show after dinner. All in all, this is a great place to stay at Mae Rim.

        Comfort in a mountain”

The room, the surroundings, the staff

We upgraded our room to a big size and it was very comfortable. That night was about 6 celsious, so the portable heater provided was useful. The shower was separated from the restroom and the sink, which was nice. The day bed was great and we loved the balcony. This place is far from Maerim, so once you go up to the resort, you can't or wouldn't want to go down to the Mae Rim activity scene as the road was windy. The food and the shows were great.

Terrible experience, filthy and lacks basic facilities. e.g. intercom”

I’d never stay there or recommend anyone for whom cleanliness and safety is a concern. I found moldy pillows, disgustingly dirty shower area and unkept, dirty room. The hotel is in the middle of a forest, on a hilly area, local tour operator warned of safety when it’s not occupied by large groups of guests. The rooms are isolated and there’s no intercom connection in the room to contact the reception in case of any need, incident or accident. Most importantly, even after informing the need of HALAL/VEGAN food for us as as Muslim guests, nothing was made available to cater us. They didn’t have any selection of veg or mushrooms to serve us, food served to us was tasteless. However, surprisingly toilet was clean, staff were exceptionally good and accommodating, the open ground where non-veg/non-halal dinner buffet was served, was beautiful and well kept. I was disappointed with Agoda’s response DELAYED response timing, will try avoiding booking rooms with them for that reason.

        Ruined week-end”

This lodge could have been the right place to enjoy a peaceful week-end, isolated and high in the mountains, with nice landscape and cooler weather. So remote that once in your room, there is no cell phone network, no WIFI and not even a conventional phone to call the reception building, would you need any help. It seems that most bungalows include 4 rooms which share a central lobby with an indoor fireplace. During lunch on the second day, a manager welcomed me. I insisted that I was mostly there to have rest and to relax. The nightmare started a few hours later, when 2 families with 3 young children checked-in and were assigned the 3 other rooms in the same bungalow. The central lounge was soon taken over and become the ideal place for playing, running, jumping on the wooden floor (the whole bungalow was shaking), bicycle indoor racing, shouting and crying as loud as possible. The room walls are very thin and do not stop any noise, so expect no privacy. Moreover, they had a party there at night and decided to lit a fire in the fireplace during hours. My room was soon full of smoke. The indoor fireplace is weirdly designed, just as a concrete box on the floor and without any vent. It seems that some people have still never heard about carbon monoxide. After talking with the uninterested lady at the reception desk, I left the next day and gave up for one remaining night without refund.

        Good Environment With Poor Operation!”

We were attracted by its introduction of website. Activities like trekking tour by their 'Experienced' tour guide Ito the Hilltribe Village, see the Hmong culture embroidery, weaving & batik, massage by the pool side etc.... Nothing of the above happens! We struggled a long time upon check in, communicating of the activities. None of the staff can speak English! We get our driver who can speak only very little english to translate. They told us there is no village, no trekking & no massage. I took 1 brochure from the front desk & pointed at the activities shown trying very hard to ask them. Finally they got their manager to speak to me over the phone. At least I can understand his English. The manager rushed back from Chiangmai to attend to my request. We managed to go trekking to the Hilltribe the next morning led by a tour guide who cannot speak a word of English. The walking journey to the Hilltribe was fantastic with a scenic view but we saw nothing in the village except some old f

It's super hard communicating with the staff.”

Nice climate (mountains), impressive nature and wildlife. I liked the cottages and the pool (see pictures). Food (buffet) ok, but no variation from day to day (stayed 3 nights) and very expensive. Personal doesn't have any initiative at all to serve you any drinks and it takes an eternity before you get what you ordered. It takes 2-3 staff members to organize you a beer or soda. Only the owner (very nice and helpful) speaks a few words English, but there was still some confusion.

        Not good resort”

Only 1 thing was good and that is the view, can look stars evening

I come to thai already more then 20 times in 10 year. First of all it was in the middle of nowhere. Have nothing at all nearby. The swimming pool was clean but always very cold. The room was not ant proof, there holes everywhere. You have a bungolow that is split in 4 rooms. You can hear everything and hear the footsteps in the other rooms loud ! The food was expensive for what you get in thai. And it wasn that good also. You cant get even fish in the resort. Under the bungolaw it was full of leaves that being there for a while. So clean wasnt it ! You have no connection with youre mobile. Even not have a phone in room, what if something happend you can do nothing ! I payed way to much for thai, normal price for this should be about 600b maximum. Really this resort is not good !!!
