Gorgeous hotel a few minutes from the town center”
this place is a really great value for your money! the hoi an historic hotel is on tran hung dao, located about a 5 minute walk from the center of town. despite its proximity to town, it is several streets away from the center, making it very peaceful. the hotel grounds are expansive and beautiful. we stayed in the historic wing, and our rooms were minimalist and elegant, with a black and white color scheme. the bathrooms were really cool, with a separate shower and toilet, separated from the bedroom area by huge sliding wooden doors. the pool was nice, although i would have expected a bigger pool for the size of the resort. there is a one-room fitness center with a treadmill, two bikes, a rowing machine and some free weights. make sure to have the attendant turn on the a/c in the room for you! breakfast was similar to that offered at the hoi an beach resort, with both western and asian options. the hoi an hotel seemed to have a greater selection of food. again, there were omelet and pho stations, which i really enjoyed. the restaurant staff were super-accommodating and helped to set up an extra table for me outside. the hotel spa had its soft opening while we were there, so we were able to enjoy spa treatments at 20% off. otherwise, the prices are much higher than what you would pay for similar services in town. my only complaint with the hotel was a particular staff member named ms. nguyen thi nhung. she was an enormous b***h to me when i tried to pay for spa services with us dollars. i had a $100 bill that came directly from the us, but apparently it was not “clean” enough or was too “creased” for ms. nhung. she refused to take it, telling me to go to the bank to exchange it or to go to the atm to get vnd. i refused, as i told her i had cash right there, and as it is currency from my country, i’m not sure why she so unpleasantly refused to accept it. this left a bad taste in my mouth. apart from ms. nhung, i would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and breakfast”
We actually hadn't planned to stay at this hotel, but were evacuated there during the floods of December 2016. Apparently this venue has never been flooded, which after 2 days stranded on an island and unable to commute to the old town (except by canoe) is a definite "plus" that most people wouldn't consider! Just on the fringes of old town, you can walk into the heart of Hoi An's old town in minutes. The room was clean, modern and of of ample size to fit a portable cot for our toddler. Facilities included an air conditioned play room which she absolutely loved. The equipment is designed for younger children, I think probably best suited to under 5 y.o. The grounds were very scenic and the pool looked great, with a separate shallow area roped off to the sides. The food selection in the breakfast restaurant was excellent overall, my only minor "complaint" would be that each morning there was only about 5 types of fruit on offer which seemed to rotate daily (I love my papaya and dragon fruit, but most days it was one or the other). It's my third stay in Hoi An and I've found at some other venues you get all the options every day (about 8-10 choices). The reception staff were friendly, making a point to wish us well each time we left on an outing and welcoming us each time we returned. The restaurant staff we great and interacted with our daughter to help entertain her while her parents indulged in hour long breakfast sittings! We did have to wait a long time to check-in (compounded by a failure to get our welcome drink and refreshment towels), however they were very busy on the day and time we checked in, due to many people from our resort (and others) relocating to the Hoi An Historic around the same time due to the extreme flooding elsewhere.

“Resort style in the heart of Hoi An””
This is an amazing place to stay in the centre of Hoi An. Staying in Hoi An means you are in close proximity to everything - and you don't have to travel back and forth to the beach resorts that are a couple of km's away at Cua Dai beach. You can pop back into the hotel after walking around/shopping bike riding for a quick swim. The hotel also offers a free bus shuttle service to the beach which was great! I booked the hotel through Agoda - so i got it for a great price. I then contacted the hotel direct to organise a transfer to the hotel from the airport. Picked us up all good - and it was 10.30pm when we got in. They served us drinks when we arrived, and then took us to our room. Unfortunately the room they gave us was 327 which was close to the back road, and we hardly slept that night. But first thing the next morning, we asked to change our room, and they were happy too straight away. It didnt have a double bed but 2 king singles - but it was better than the noise. Our new room overlooked the pretty garden. The rooms were clean, however the only thing i can say bad is the fact that there is a bad sewerage smell which didnt seem to go away. Pool is awesome and refreshing! It is so hot in Hoi An, that having the pool there and being in the centre is a god send. And the atmosphere in the gardens is just so lovely. It really does have a vietnemese feel to it, and you don't feel like you are in just "another resort hotel". The breakfast is pretty good too... Good western and vietnemese cuisine. Overall - i would highly recommend staying here for any type of travellor. Room Tip: As for a room overlooking the pool or garden.

Awesome, Awesome & Awesome again.”
2nd time I've stayed at the Historic Hoi An & again this hotel delivered the services & quality I'd come to expect. Rooms are super clean, comfortable & spacious. The staff, although were very busy during our check-in, are super friendly, kind & simply put awesome. *(don't mistake their busy for in-courtesy ) The hotel pool is definitely the deal breaker. With out the pool, it'd be a great hotel, but the pool alone makes it an Awesome hotel. Location is a key factor also in making this hotel as awesome as it is. Short stroll to the ancient city & a short moped ride to the beach. Having said all that, I must add. *Good luck to getting a game of tennis in, during the cooler evening hours. Overall an Awesome hotel I look forward to staying in again on my next return to Amazing Hoi An. *****

Centrally located hotel that is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An”
Hoi An Historic hotel is centrally located in Hoi An and being very close to the morning and night markets and the river front. It’s like a 10-15 leisurely walk to these areas. These areas are very busy with tourists. Even though it is close to these tourist spots, the location of the hotel is very quiet and tranquil and offers travelers some quietness. Breakfast is ok with good varieties….the bacon is just so awesome that I ate a lot of it. The surrounding area has lots of option for food – Vietnamese cuisine (Miss Ly, Banh Mi, etc), seafood, etc. Also close by are many old houses and associations which are interesting.

the only open space hotel walking distance to old ”
We should have chosen to stay longer than 4 nights. It was the best accom in our thirty day trip with 9 hotels. The hotel was owned by a local, has locals staffing its shops and even though i understand it has new ownership maintains the support from the locals who frequent the coffeeshop out the front. It has magnificient looking gardens, building and pool and i suspect from all the other tourists we spoke to is the only one of such size and comfort adjacent to the historical old city streets. If you are an aussie the beach is just ok so why stay miles out there when this beautiful hotel in town has much more than the other beach side including its sister hotel being close to a wider range of dining, shopping , the markets and historical sites. The breakfast is great. Humm not sure about the local whisky served as johnywalker.. in vietnam i'm sure its not as good anywhere as I remember, so stick to the local beer perhaps that not the hotels fault. It seems even the poorer rooms we had facing away from the pool still havea balcony through the sound proof doors so you have a very quiet sleep even close to the city traffic and bustle. Ther eis one quirk and must have driven the designer up the wall. We thoughth our shower with two spouts, strong and full waterfall setting were amazing and in a world of limited water were just an extravagance and we used the big one til the water started to flood out into the bathroom. Pointed this out to the staff who explained so kindly that they all do that if your have the shower on full for too long.. oh well. the best designs don't always work with the limited small plumbing in asia once again not the hotels fault. The hotel shop is actually good value and trusted. The jeweler is a designer and can custom make if you have enough days with a twelve year relationship with the hotel.

Great location”
The pros: The best thing about this hotel is its central location, only two blocks away from the ancient city. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well-equipped (fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer, flat screens with movies and games, umbrellas, etc). Breakfast is good with lots to choose from. The pool is adequate. The cons: Any extra service is expensive. For example, hotel airport pickup is more expensive than taxi. Food from the menu is nothing to write home about and expensive. There's a free shuttle to the other hotel on the beach owned by the same chain, but using chairs/towels there will cost you VND 100,000 per person. The beach in front of the Hoi An Beach hotel is the worst section of Cua Dai Beach, with sharp square stones in the water that had been put there for umbrellas but no longer used. The guards will not warn you. If you want to go to Cua Dai beach, just check out towels from the pool of the city center hotel, and use the beach up or down from the Hoi An Beach Hotel.

Excellent hotel with very friendly staff”
Hoian is a beautiful city and the Hoi An Hotel is a beautiful hotel. In the middle of town the location of this hotel was excellent and just a short distance to many excellent restaurants (personally I believe the best in Vietnam) really buzzing markets and shops and historical landmarks. The hotel staff were very friendly and super helpful and the hotel grouds were beautifully kept. Our room was well appointent offering a very colonial feel (although no air con, but this wasn't needed in our stay). Breakfast in the hotel was very nice and had a large variety. We were very happy with our stay at the Hoi An Hotel.

What a great surprise!”
our stay in hoi an was a highlight of our trip to vietnam and the hotel was a highlight of our accomodation. spacious, beautiful grounds including lots of outdoor snack areas, and a large swimming pool surround the hotel building.the dining room is separated from the main building providing for the most wonderful and varied breakfasts. there was a spacious entrance and the staff were most co-operative and friendly. the room was to be on the second floor but with no lift we asked for a ground floor room and were granted one. only down side was a vendor of some sort outside at night who played happy birthday on a speaker over and over and over.... the room was spacious but the bathroom could have been a little better. but overall very nice. and so central to hoi an old town. bus every hour to the beach 4 km away. great place to stay. also make certain you visit the restaurants along the river front on both sides of the river. this place is just beautiful and not to be missed by the visitor to vietnam. --

Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, friendly staff.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights at the Hoi An Hotel. After making the booking I read a few negative reviews and wondered what our stay would be like. I honestly can't think of any negatives at all. The staff were friendly without being in your face and happily helped if asked. The breakfast was fantastic, I couldn't fault it, all food was fresh, there was a wide selection of western and local food - probably too much choice. I even had a great laugh with one of the chefs when I accidentally put fish sauce on my banana pancake - they had put the maple sauce in the wrong place! The waiters were quick to fill your coffee or to have a chat; they all spoke good English and were proud of Hoi An. The room was a good size, we had a shower over bath and all things worked well although the air con was a bit loud but after the first night it was cool enough that we only needed the ceiling fan. The bed was large and the mattress was very firm, but not uncomfortable. There was a safe in the room that was even bolted down!! This wasn't always the case in other (more expensive places that we stayed in). Even though the Hotel is about 25 years old, it has been very well maintained. The buildings and manicured grounds are all in excellent condition. Location was good although there is a school directly behind the hotel with kids being dropped off from 6.30am. We were eating breakfast by this time so it wasn't a problem, if it would bother you then just ask for a room away from the rear fence - too easy! There are two computers near reception with internet that are free to use at any time which was very handy. After leaving Hoi An we spent 3 days in Hue, we liked Hoi An so much that we came back early and rather than sit in the airport at Da Nang for 4 hours we got dropped off at the Hoi An Hotel and they were more than happy to mind our suitcases for us while we did some more shopping. I can highly recommend a stay at the Hoi An Hotel.

Fantastic stay!!”
This was my 2nd time staying at the Hoi An hotel and it was even better than the 1st :) The staff are all just so friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The location is perfect for walking across the road to visit old town with all its historical sites, the tailors and the markets. We also took advantage of the free shuttle to the nearby beach and the restaurants, bars and pool facilities are just lovely. Would definitely recommend the Hoi An hotel very highly to anyone visiting Hoi An and can't imagine staying anywhere else myself :)

A perfect choice for Hoi An”
Welcome drink and cold towel on check-in. Friendly receptionist who sat down with us explaining hotel features and provided map outlining various things to see and do in Hoi An. No lifts in hotel, but it's only 3 floors high. Spacious, well maintained grounds. Big room with pool view. Complementary fruit on first day. Swimming pool was lovely and temperature of the water just perfect. Breakfast was really good with ample choice. Had dinner in hotel restaurant one night and the grilled tumeric fish cooked in banana leaves, was fantastic. There is a school across the road from the hotel, so quite a bit of noise during the day in the location of our room, but other rooms may not hear it. Didn't stop us enjoying the hotel though and we recommend the Hoi An Hotel for location.

the best hotel to unwind in Hoi An”
This is my 4th time at Hoi An Historic Hotel. The staff are the most beautiful you will find in Hoi An. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The only request we had was to have English Tea in lieu of Green Tea in our room. The breakfast is hearty and there is always plenty to choose from. Don't forget to try the fabulous yogurt when you are in Vietnam. Always home made and at this hotel in a large dish near the cereal and fruit !!

VIETNAM HOLIDAY”
We are 3 ladies in our early sixties who enjoyed our stay at Hoi An Historic Hotel immensely. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The dining staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. We had a room beside the pool which we would ask for on our next visit. The only issue we had was with the bath/shower which is extremely high and the shower water overflows straight onto the bathroom floor. We would definately stay here again.

looks very special when you arrive at night”
This place looks very luxurious with its spacious surroundings, fountains, and lighting when you arrive at night. We were upgraded to one of the smaller suites on the ground floor. The room was a great place to retreat to in the heat of the day and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful both at reception and on the breakfast service. With this hotel you are in large grounds planted with frangipani, palms and bougainvillaea. There is a beautiful and well maintained pool which we enjoyed more than once. There are also swinging cane chairs and lots of lounges for relaxing. It is quiet for sleeping although you can hear the TV in the room next door. The other problem is that the windows are shuttered and were wide open when we arrived. This attracts quite a few mosquitoes into the room. The breakfast can be eaten inside or on tables set on the patio. There is lots to choose from on the buffet and a chef cooks delicious pancakes and omelettes on request. There is aways someone hovering to fill up your tea and coffee cup. Hoi An township starts just over the road so you are out of the real bustle and commercialism of Hoi An but it's only a very short walk when you want to visit a tailor or go for a meal. The restaurant didn't seem to attract much patronage but it was a quiet time while we were there.

Perfect location, amazing”
The Hoi An Historic Hotel is in the best location with just a walk to your favourite restaurant, shop and night life. The staff are friendly and very helpful, breakfast in a garden setting is just fantastic but the only thing I didn't like was THE POOL WAS LIKE BATHWATER IT WAS SO WARM. No cover over the pool so it is in direct sun all day, I had more relief from the heat with a cold shower by the pool.

Beautiful resort, good location”
i've stayed in a guesthouse in hoi an before, but really wanted a swimming pool this time. hoi an hotel is beautifully kept, with a great swimming pool area (though the jacuzzi is cold, which is a shame this time of year) and friendly helpful staff delivering at a solid four-star standard. this is a big resort, that clearly takes tour groups (who do crowd the buffet a little early in the morning) and the family, moneyed and elderly markets. we still had a blast there though, as a younger couple. the location is very good - just a block to le loi, one of the main streets full of tailors, bars and restaurants. other highlights: omelette/pancake station, great pastries and expansive fruit areas on the brekkie buffet. particularly pretty room right at the end of the corridor, with a walk-through bathroom and separate bath on a pebbled area and big rain shower with plenty of hot water (a nice change in vietnam). my only complaint: the glass door on the toilet itself wasn't so great for us - it was only half-frosted. a little private time, please! there was an automated blind between the bathroom and the bed which we had to use because of this.

Highly recommend”
We had a wonderful 5 night stay here. The location is only a few streets away from the Hoi An Historic centre and the pool and breakfast wonderful. The room was immaculately cleaned each day and the staff so helpful and friendly. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on our next visit and we've been to Hoi An 4 times. Pay the extra for the pool view room. Only negative was the price of the mini bar which adds service charge & VAT on top of all prices listed.

Everything was perfect!”
I highly recommend this hotel, if you would like to travel Hoi an. Very close to ancient town. Most famous places was walking distance in 10 minutes. Resort was very beutiful and room condition was cozy. All staff, especially Receptionist, are very friendly and kind. Breakfast was also fantastic, it was quite small, but very delicious foods. Thanks for all things about Hoi an historic hotel.

Best place for Hoian city tour”
The Hoi An Historic Hotel is located in right center of Hoian city and it's best place for Hoian city tour by walking, bicycle or even running (in Winter season, of course. lol). I stayed just for two nights but had wonderful experiences that I won't forget. Maybe next time, I'll visit the hotel once again. Thanks all.
