The downstairs lobby/breakfast area is rather frigid and noticed portable heaters were heating the space. Our room's heater was blowing cold air when we arrived and when headed out for dinner we let the front desk staff member know, he was very caddy but said he would have it fixed. When we returned to our room, it was uncomfortable warm and kept us awake till the early morning hours when we requested to move rooms. At least the sweet girl doing night audit was VERY accommadating.

The rooms are a bit small, the AC doesn’t work well, and the decor isn’t the most modern and there’s garbage in the halls. But, the breakfast is good, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and parking is easy.

Awesome room service worse than motels”
During 6 days, my room has not be cleaned at all in spite of several request. I also request shampoo and bodywash when I checked in. I called room service 3 times. Finally I went to the front desk and got them... As to the room service, absolutely worse than motel 6. Location and Breakfast service was good.

Nice place but has issues”
Climate control issues. Main floor is pleasantly controlled. The first room I tried had no airflow and a dead thermostat (showing temp of 9999 degrees). Felt like an oven when I opened the door. The second room just barely had any air with a dysfunctional thermostat. Turning it down to the lowest setting actually made the room hotter than when I first opened door. I really appreciated their understanding by bringing a fan to me. Thank you, Jenea!

Very good value based on its location and skybridge connection to the Brown Palace. Heating unit was very noisy when on so not a good night's sleep. Otherwise would certainly recommend.

My booking was paid with a Agoda cash before check in 171,52$. I told about it to front-desk lady, but she said need for 50$ deposit. After check out I found out that they charged extra 176$ plus deposit $50. And today is third day. Trying to call to hotel and nobody answering, because of answering machine asking purpose of calling and I need to say “extra-charge”. Extra-charge is 226$!!!

Would NOT recommend ”
I booked the reservation with AGODA for 1 night and already had my credit card charged before arriving. $276.00 for 1 night, which is outrageous as THEY KNOW their A/C system does not work. We requested a fan with the front desk and it took over 2 hours to be delivered. I just got home and noticed they Holiday Inn Express charged me $228.34; so I called to ask if this can be refunded and the gentleman at the desk said it was MY responsibility that the virtual credit card they received from AGODA declined and they charged mine instead because they didn't have the money from them and I would need to contact them. Why is that my responsibility? and he had the nerve to tell me "Well you should have booked directly and you wouldn't have this problem". Why do you have CONTRACTS with AGODA if you want guests to book directly? I arrived around 3PM and left at 9AM and at no point was it mentioned that the credit card declined making it my responsibility. I work in the hotel industry and I know how this works and you wouldn't tell guests these things.

Most comfortable beds, very good breakfast”
I stayed here for 3 nights. I chose it for price, location, and the free breakfast (which was very good and featured variety and ample fresh fruit). My room had the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in in a long time. A free bonus: if you're interested in "historic hotels," the modern Holiday Inn Express is linked organizationally to the Brown Palace Hotel across the street. The latter is worth visiting just to see the dozen or so floors of wrought iron railing rising above the lounge as well as the various historic rooms. There's also some sort of spa there.

Poor facility”
Toilet unit located incorrectly and my shoulder interfere to basin, very uncomfortable. No fridge provided. Cold Shower made me blue, but after kept flowing water for 5 minutes then hot water arrived. No explanation is given this and how to adjust the water temperature. It is American standard for domestic residents but not for foreigners. Mirror in the bathroom installed in crooked and looks ugly.

The staff was friendly enough, but they kept forgetting to do basic things like take out all the trash cans, refill all of the soap when it got low, and replacing all the used linens.
