At the pulse of the most vibrant neighbourhood in ”
This is my first time staying in the Sheung Wan area. And I totally love it. It's gritty, it's authentic, it's vibrant. And in the midst of that organised chaos is the Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho. It is quite literally in the epicentre of the hustle and bustle of the area. It is strategically located to be near the pulse of Hong Kong - SoHo, Lan Kwai Fong, the Central, IFC Mall, the Hong Kong & Macau Ferry Terminal as well as the famous Hollywood Road (Antiques Street) and Upper Lascar Row (Cat Street). Convenience is key here. The Sheung Wan MTR station is a mere 5-minute walk away. It's the perfect way to experience the sight, sound, and smell of the neighbourhood. The complimentary free shuttle for Airport Express passengers stops next to the building. A wide array of food is a hungry growl away - dim sum, crepes, noodles, gourmet coffee at hipster cafes, sandwiches, and if totally absolutely necessary, McDonald's. And if you need to stock up, there's also a 7-Eleven diagonally across, and a supermarket farther up the road. Whilst the Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho isn't the most fancy hotel, it is arguably one of the most well-thought through hotel I have stayed in. Blackout screens automatically roll down at night, space is maximised (to the extend the bathroom door also doubles up as the shower screen, so it might be a tad tricky for strangers if both have to use the bathroom at the same time), stable wifi connection, decent channel selection on the flat screen TV, as well as complimentary shower gel in the dispenser in the bathroom. Like most business hotels, there is self-serve common room that you can head to for ice, cups, and internet access via the desktop computers. There are a few restaurants as well should you decide not to head out. Check-in was swift, staff were friendly and helpful. It's definitely value for money. But the highlight has to be its location and the neighbourhood.

Proximity to Airport Bus Station, some toiletries available upon request and helpful staff”
I choose Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho as it is located near Sheung Wan A2 MTR Station. The Airport Bus stop venue for this hotel, the first Airport Bus stop of Bus H2 from Hong Kong Airport Express Station, is located next to the Cottage Restaurant of The Jervois building facing opposite the left corner of the hotel, not in front of the hotel entrance. Toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap and towels are available in the bathroom. There are no separate body foam and shampoo. Only 2-in-1 shampoo and body gel are available in the bathroom, making the room like an airport hotel room. Showers are powerful. Upon request at the reception are items that include razor, shaver, shaver cream, wound disinfectant, Hanwood Plastic adhesive bandage and comb. Different fruits are served daily during the nutritious filled breakfast. Staff are helpful and friendly and emailed me tips on travelling to and from the hotel. Room-deposit is not required. I will stay here again.

A great place to stay, with great people”
Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong SoHo is located in a busy merchants area of Central, several blocks from the MTR station Sheung Wan. It is surrounded by shops filled with dried Chinese ingredients, from mushrooms, shrimps, fish, etc... as well as some local restaurants. If you want to get out of the touristy areas, this is one good place to be in. I had a lot of fun walking around and discovering the neighborhood. The hotel itself is focused on meeting the needs of the business traveler. No gym. No pool. Just good room amenities like a plush bed, a really strong shower, blackout curtains which helped give me much needed rest. The Thai restaurant (Moon Thai) is said to be Michelin recommended, though I didn't get to eat there. The hotel also has a self service laundry room, which was great for travelers. Guests can buy coins for the machines (HKD40 for each load of washing or drying). After about 1 hour, I had my small load of laundry all washed and dried! The staff were great... from the reception men and women to the housekeeping ladies, who were very friendly and always greeted me every time I passed by.

Good value in a great location”
I stayed for 9 nights on business and wanted a location with good links to both the Island and Kowloon. The Holiday Inn Express Soho was great value for money and just 5 minutes walk from Sheung Wan MTR station. The room was clean and comfortable, no particular frills, but the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable which I have not always found at other hotel chains in HK. This being Hong Kong, there are loads of good eating options within easy walking distance. The breakfast at the hotel was included but was not great. Still, overall I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be returning in January.

Priced right in a great location”
Although smaller, I was surprise at the spaciousness of the hotel room. Hong Kong is known for its small expensive hotel rooms. Although not inexpensive, but with a lower price point for Hong Kong I was impressed with its roominess. I expected a tiny shoe box of a room. The breakfast buffet was above average but just don't get there in the late or your selection with be limited or totally out. The wifi was free and the speed was adequate. The best feature is the location, and how close it is to the MTR. Also the Hong Kong station where the Airport Express train terminates, there is a FREE shuttle bus with its first stop at this hotel only minutes away. The HKG/Macau ferry is within walking distance if you don't mind walking about 4 blocks or 8 minutes away. Overall, I would return, but don't expect the Peninsula hotel, it's clean, convenient, easy to find , and the staff speaks English. What more can you ask for at about $150 USD?

Value for money”
Our stay at Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho was a pleasant one as the staff were all very polite and helpful. The rooms were small but clean and well maintained. The hotel is also a few minutes walk from the MTR and walking distance to the pier to Macau.

I like this comfort hotel”
Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho is super near by Sheung Wan MTR Station and 10min walk distance from Macau Ferry. Around Hotel got a lot of nice local food. Opposite hotel got Mcdonald and seven-eleven shop.

Good Stay As Always”
I never doubted whether or not it will be a good stay. I was sure. Just like during the previous times, I was allowed to check-in early and check out was quick as well. Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong is located on the more quiet side of SheungWan but just a few minutes walk from the nightlife -- which makes it perfect. Looking forward to my stay again, perhaps, next month.

My Home In HongKong”
Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho has been my address / home in Hong Kong as a solo traveler since 2014. There's no place like home, I'd have to say.

2nd recent stay - still the best in the 3* categor”
This was my 2nd stay recently in the Holiday Inn Express HK Soho (you can see me first review below). Obviously still very good in terms of being new, comfortable bed, decent shower pressure and very good location (walking distance to Central / Mid Levels and Sheung Wan MTR). You cant get overall better location:price:value in this category Downsides - the breakfast on L2 (which I must add is not run by Holiday Inn management) - is far too crowded most of the time. I gave up on 5 of my 7 breakfasts because the Q was too long, and it is very cramped once inside. Also, the food is the same every single day without fail. Not a big deal, but they really should offer this to fewer guests and/or ascertain sitting times based on certain guest types/preferences. 2nd Downside - is a new one. There is some EPIC CONSTRUCTION going on in the block next door between 9am and 6pm. Laying foundations type stuff that is very noisy, so you will not be able to sleep/study/work during business hours until this is done (I anticipate relatively soon, before they start building up vertically). This is a shame b/c otherwise this hotel is actually in a pretty quiet part of town I would DEFINATELY stay again, since I don't need the hotel during business hours anyway.

Look forward to coming back to HK”
HK is not a cheap place, so when i say this is value, don't raise your eyebrow at the price. This is the same review I wrote in Tripadvisor I will say the 6 things. 1. 150m walk from Sheung Wan MTR Station 2. Barista Jam, Yardbird, Dim Sum Square is around it 3. 400m walk to Elgin Road for drinks and Shisha 4. Less than 30HKD cab fare from Lan Kwai Fong. 5. 200m walk to Jenny Bakery 6. G-Shock Distributer shop nearby. Not the best location as staying near Central station or Admiralty Station is more convenient because those are the interchanges with the red line to Mongkok and TST as compared to staying near SheungWan Station. But at 170-180SGD on Hong Kong Island near MTR on Island Line, I am not sure who else could beat that price. There might be other places which are cheaper, but I do not know. The Breakfast is so so, but the room is very clean and there is enough movies on the TV channel to keep their stayers occupied. If you are taking the airport express to Hong Kong Station, there is a shuttle bus from there to the hotel at Basement 1. Its free, but waiting time can be 15mins or more. Taking the cab from there can be as cheap as 22HKD, so you might wanna save time and just hop onto a cab. The tram is nearby too if you are to ride it for the experience. For Shopping at causeway bay and Drinking. I will think this is a great place to stay.

Our haven after each tiring day.”
My husband and I were happy during our stay in this hotel. The staff welcomed us warmly and immediately offered information on how to go about getting around hong kong in a more practical way. The food during breakfast were delicious but did not change during our 4-day stay. The housekerping were so accomodating giving us all what we need like extra towels, toilettries and slippers. They kept our room clean all the time. The hotel is near the ferry terminal which was good for us since we came to hong kong ftom Macau via ferry..so convenient. The rooms are quite small and not much of a viewoutside the window but since we were out the whole day all the time!, this didnt bother us. There were lots of restaurants near the hotel convenient for grabbing something at night before 19 pm.the 24-hour mcdonalds near the hotel though was a life saver for my 9 year old son at nights. As a whole, we were happy with our stsy.

Easily Located”
I recommend to add in your hotel info, information on how to get there using the MTR. To be honest we got lost going to the hotel from Hong Kong Station. Taxi drivers are not helpful as they have limitation in speaking English. But when we were advised by your front desk the proximity of MTR station (Central) it was a game changer. From there on, it made our moving around Hong Kong easy.. Please consider this as it will help future guests not being lost.....Thank You

Good price, location and experience”
Holiday Inn Express HK Soho suits us well for short visits to HK for shopping and food. It is reasonably priced for this location, hotel is quite new and has modern furnishings. Location is definitely a plus if you prefer to stay in HK island, 3 min walk to nearest MTR entrance, Airport Express Shuttle bus stop is around the corner, 7 min walk to Ferry Terminal if you fancy a trip extension to Macau. This trip we checked-in on the day of my wife's birthday and the front desk wished her a Happy Birthday, how attentive!

Over all hotel is very nice.

Safe pair of hands”
Very central with straight forward amenities and no problems. The breakfast was actually better than other reviews I had read. Twice our door cards broke (possibly due to being left in my wallet with coins etc.) but staff took care of it easily. A larger lobby area with a bathroom or more seating would be great, but I guess this is Hong Kong.

Nice convenient hotel at a great location”
I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed my stay very much. The room size is large for Hong Kong and staff very friendly. Breakfast was sufficient with east/west food although the dinning area is small but waiting time is short as the staff sees to it that we can seated asap. The free shuttle bus from HK Station take you there in less than 10 mins and stops at the hotel. To go to the airport wait at the shuttle bus stop as it comes every 20 mins. MTR Sheung Wan is less that 5 mins walk. Will definitely stay there again.

Convenient & accessible”
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The location is superb. It is our first time to stay on this side of Hong Kong and it was a great decision to do so. There is free in-room wifi & breakfast. We stayed on the 27th floor and we had a great view from up there. The breakfast could use a little improvement, but it was okay, there was bread, bacon, some fruit. It was also great to hear that this hotel is "green" and Eco-friendly. Highly recommended. Will stay here again, definitely.

Great location and value”
Our stay was good. Room was clean and bed was comfortable even though room size was small. Free internet and pretty decent breakfast. Choice of food was more than I we expected. Staff was nice and helpful. Best thing is that it's the first stop of the free airport express shuttle from Hong Kong station. 10 mins walk to Macau ferry terminal. There's a good dim sum restaurant just 1 minute down the block that serves dim sum all day till 11pm.

Nice location”
The hotel management was kind enough to allow changes to the booking provided we bear the difference as the dates we chose coincides with China's national day holiday. Grateful nevertheless. Location was good. We took the Airport Express and then the free shuttle bus at Hong Kong main station. Shuttle bus H2 first stop was at Holiday Inn. Sheung Wan MTR is just 5 minutes walk away. The ding ding tram is also in vicinity. Tonnes of eateries nearby with a local cooked food centre just minutes away. Fast food such as Subway and McDonald's is also a corner away. Check in was smooth, staff speaks pleasant English. Could do more with the breakfast spread but the basics of bread, porridge, western is provided. The dining hall is quite packed during breakfast. Lift could be an issue as there were only 3 + 1 (service lift) servicing the whole building of 37 storey. We walked down the stairs from 6th floor as the lift is congested during the morning peak hour (0830 - 0930).
