Best for it's location.”
If you're staying in the heart of Dotonburi area, know that you won't get away from any hustle or bustle. So, if you're trying to find somewhere quiet - it is not in the middle of Dotonburi. For us however, we wanted to be nearest to Dotonburi to enjoy late night walks and watching the abundance of lights from shops and restaurants. Holiday Inn Namba was just literally 3-4 min slow walk to the Glico Running Man and Shinsaibashi Shopping District. Go out, turn right and walk straight till you see H&M and you are right smack in the center / heart of Dotonburi. I personally liked it. I was travelling with my husband, sister and mom who had to be on the wheelchair most of the time. So the location was a definite plus for convenience and distance. Rooms was up to expectation - a tablet cum handheld device is also given in each room for a quick guide of Osaka, easy calls for booking restaurants and internet use for those not wanting to waste battery life of their own mobile devices.
Fantastic modern hotel in the centre of Osaka”
after staying at many hotels in japan this was a fantastic experience. it's situated right on the doutonbori, in the heart of downtown osaka, close to the shinsaibashi shopping arcade. 5 mins walk to namba station(s) and a couple of minutes to shinsaibashi station if you want to see attractions such as osaka castle. the staff were very friendly and polite, able to speak some english, and could keep our bags when we arrived too early to check in. the hotel is very modern and flash, the room was a decent size, and the bed was very comfortable. it has a nice tv, complimentary water bottles, a hot water dispenser for tea (but no coffee!) and desk for working. we were so happy to see the 4(!) big oversized pillows, and the bathroom was big, clean and well stocked with complimentary products. i would definitely recommend this hotel and will be going back again soon!
This was the best hotel we stayed in in Japan. The hotel was clean, modern and spacious, with super friendly staff to assist with whatever we needed. The location was the highlight, with only 5 minutes walk to the centre of the Shopping and Restaurant district of Osaka (Namba and Shinsaibashi). 10 minute walk to Namba Station (the main subway and train station in Osaka) We enjoyed it so much we returned for our last night before flying home! The only thing to note for travellers is that the hotel is situated in the Red Light District, but it was by no means an issue, as the proximity to the train station and shopping districts made up for it! A 100% recommendation.
Ideal location, comfortable room, good breakfast buffet.”
We had a positive experience staying at this Holiday Inn. Within steps of the hotel there are great places to grab a bite to eat - ramen, sushi, korean bbq, takoyaki, coffee. This was fantastic because it didn't take any planning to figure out where to eat on the night we arrived in Osaka. There's a 7-eleven on the first floor of the hotel, which was really convenient to buy drinks and snacks. The shopping in this area was not all that great for me, particularly because I was looking to purchase something that I could not buy at home. Forever 21 and H&M, for example, didn't interest me. But, the Namba station is within a quick 5-7 minute walk, so we were able to take the subway to various parts of the city and even to Kyoto for a quick day trip. The breakfast buffet offered western and asian options: scrambled eggs, bacon, curry rice, miso soup, salad, cereal, coffee. It was a pretty good spread. Be aware that the cleaning department closes at 4:30pm, so if you want your room cleaned, be sure you leave enough time during the day for them to do so - or make a special request with the front desk. Our room was at the end of the hall, so that might have been the issue. It wasn't a huge deal, because they offered us a canvas box of clean towels and water.
Best value for money hotel”
The hotel is located on the shinsaibashi and adjacent to namba area. Those 2 area are the most happening area in osaka where you can find practically everything, from food, nightlife, sightseeing inc mini river cruise, and many othera. To get to the hotel from the airport, you can take JR line to JR Namba station. However, JR Namba station is connected with Osaka Namba station and there is also Namba walk, those 3 formed a huge underground area. Make sure you use the EXIT B20, that exit will get you to around 300m from the hotel.
Great Location and Clean”
location is super great! located between the busiest streets (shinsaibashi and dotonbori ) at osaka. if you want to shop, then you can go to shinsaibashi or if you want to take your meal then you should go to dotonbori street, there have very nice and interesting food around there, all is within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. this hotel is about 15 minutes’ walk from namba station, if you arrive at airport then you can take nankai railway directly from airport to reach the namba station. staff service is good and polite! room cleanliness is excellent and great! bathroom equip with shampoo and everything. they have wifi service too at hotel lobby. most important thing is know how to speak in english
Great Location, the best we've stayed in osaka..”
Location of Vista Grande is super, 3 minutes walk to Namba Station, in the middle of dotonbori and across the river is the famous shinsaibashi shopping area. The size of the double room we stayed in are the biggest we've seen in japan so far. Step outside the hotel and a culinary heaven await, hundreds of restaurants / small ramen hut / bar in many small alleys . Although this hotel is located in the red-light district, it is perfectly safe, we have no concern walking around the hotel even at midnight. And above all, for the price, there will be few better than this hotel. Overall great experience, will definitely stay here again when we are in osaka..
Lovely hotel, good service and great location”
First of all, the location of this hotel is extremely good. It is just few minutes walk from Namba Subway Station, which is the central of Osaka. This hotel is located just between shinsaibashi and dotonbori. You can enjoy a lot of dining and shopping in this area. You won't feel hungry during the period of your stay if u choose this hotel. It is very convenient. As for hotel, the front desk service is very good, especially they know to speak English. They are very helpful and fulfill our needs. The hotel room is very clean, comfort and high class. I love the comfort bed and modern toilet very much. It is romantic to stay, suit for honeymoon. Besides, there are also have "Room theater" service, called "Video on demand", but you need to buy the ticket per day. From this VOD service, you can watch a lot of good videos until you no time to sleep. Overall, I love this 4-star hotel very much. I will be back and definitely will recommend to my friends as well.
The location is really the center of Dotonburi, which is easy access to Namba station, Ebisu Bashi-suji , Shinsaibashi, and also Kuromon Market. There is an 7-11 at the hotel lobby which is so convenient. Hotel front desk staffs are very helpful too when I ask them to do me a favor by printing out the Universal Entry E-pass. Housekeeping always greeting with smile in morning too. The price is reasonable with the spacious clean room we had for 4 nights. I will definitely choose this hotel when i'm back in Osaka again! Recommended for all travelers.
Excellent location in the heart of Namba!”
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights when we went for a short 5 day visit to Osaka this end-March for the cherry blossom season. The location is right smack in the heart of Namba district which enabled us to explore the Namba and the surrounding districts (Shinsaibashi, Dotonburi, American Mura, etc.) with the comforting thought that if we got tired, the hotel was just a short walk away. We were able to enjoy the bright neon lights in Namba to try out the different food choices in Osaka. Although the hotel is in the middle of the red light district, we never felt unsafe during our stay there. Overall, I give this hotel 4 1/2 stars!!!
The hotel is located at the heart of Dotombori and the long shopping street! There is a 7/11 at the hotel’s groundfloor. It is a 10 minute walk to Namba Station from the hotel. You can take the ‘Rapit’ train from the airport(KIX) to Namba station. Choose the exit towards Takashimaya Dept Store, once out of Takashiyama on the street level, just walk all the way down towards Dotombori. You can easily walk with your luggage to the hotel. We had 3 double rooms on the 11th floor. Not much of a view on our side but it was fine! The rooms and bathroom are very clean.Toiletries are of good quality and complete! The rooms are quite spacious considering that hotels in Japan are known to be quite small. Coffee, tea, a hot water electric kettle, a small fridge, hairdryer, and iron were all handy in the room. We did not avail of their breakfast but my husband tried it and says it was good. There’s a variety of bacon,sausages,eggs,croissants,salad,fruits,etc... The customer service would have been excellent if they had more english speaking receptionists. Otherwise, the staff of Holiday Inn all had a pleasant attitude! I will definitely stay in this hotel again. The rooms are great, the hotel is very clean and modern, and the location and vibe is unbeatable!!! You will not regret booking here! Highly recommended!
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for staying with us and for having taken the time to post review. We are pleased to see that you very much enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for your kind words about our hotel and our hosts as well as for the “excellent” overall score which is always a great compliment for the whole team. Sincerely, Holiday Inn Osaka Namba
Great base for enjoying Osaka and for day trips out to Nara & Kyoto”
Had a great 6-nights stay at the Holiday Inn Namba. Location is perfect for exploring Osaka, great food and shopping all well within walking distance. Easy access to/fro via train or airport bus, and convenient for taking the trains to USJ, Nara and Kyoto. Hotel reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Was a comfortable 6-nights stay and would certainly stay here again should we come back to Osaka.
Excellent Hotel, Highly Recommended.”
I booked this hotel after reading a fellow travellers review on this site. We had a fantastic stay for 4 nights, and i really could not fault anything. The hotel is close to Nankai Namba railway station, where we caught the Rapit Express train straight from Kansai International Airport. We arrived at about 9pm, the streets were still busy, and although we asked for directions, we probably would have found the hotel with the map we had. The hotel foyer was modern, large and sleek. The reception staff were attentive and helpful. We had a standard room and found it to be great. Spacious, modern, great bathroom with huge mirror and excellent water pressure. Unfortunatley no english tv channels. The bed was firm but not uncomfortable, the pillows and linen were superb. The room was completely soundproof, which was good as the hotel is on a busy street that does not sleep! Breakfast each morning was nice, the range wasnt huge but it was still fresh and yummy. The location of this hotel is hard to beat, you basically walk out, turn right and you are in the middle of the food and shopping mecca of Osaka. Shinshaibashi, Dotonbori, Train and Subway stations are on your doorstep. The hotel is on a street with many nightclubs and bars, however we felt completely safe at all times of the day and night. We found the hotel to represent excellent value, it really exceeded our expectations and we will recommend this hotel without hesitation to fellow travellers.
Nice location.center of all actions, both near from namba walk, shinsaibashi suji, and at the center of dontonbori. Clean and food is just enough for a morning start up. Nice and courteous staff, the only thing I was annoyed was when I requested a birthday candle and igniter for my 5 year old kid celebrating his birthday as i bought from outside his cake, the man from the information said that they dont provide...My boy almost cried because its in the middle of the night of his birthday and I thought it will be a great surprise, but everything has turned into sobbing and promising him to just celebrate in the nearby restaurant. We had celebrated his birthday every year in other hotels of different countries, at times they give complementary cake too, but holiday inn namba is quite different?should i say a must not for birthday celebration?
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please accept our apology for having failed to deliver the level of service which you had expected from Hotel. We wish we could, but we do not have celebratory items. Your valuable feedback is greatly appreciated and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you and your family back to Holiday Inn Osaka Namba on your next visit. Sincerely, Holiday Inn OSAKA NAMBA
This was the best hotel we stayed during our Japan trip (we stayed in Kyoto and Tokyo too). Really value for money! We booked a double room, but got a free upgrade to a twin room! The room was really big (for Japan's standard), looks really new and excellent in room facilities. Location was great too since shinsaibashi, namba walk and dotonbori is just in the vicinity. We had some difficulty finding the hotel at first since we were not sure which exit to take and which direction to take. but once we figured that out, it was a breeze. Will definitely stay here again if I come to Osaka.
The place to be in Osaka!”
Holiday Inn Osaka Namba is best for any group of adult friends, here everyone can get to do what they want to easily, it’s so easy to split up and meet up. Endless food and shopping choices 24/7! Dotonbori is your terrace and Kuromon Market your kitchen!
A hotel right in the hub of activities”
We had a great shopping around this area as there are many shops offering Osaka delights in the immediate vicinity. The Shopping belt is just a stone's throw away. Across a street is also a 10-storey high building (SPOTAKA) selling all you need for sports. Eateries are all over. It is really an ideal location to be as you need not worry about making transfer to get back to Kansai airport as the Namba station has a direct train there. Also, if you are travelling to Tokyo from Osaka via the Shinkaisen, you can travel from Namba to Sin-osaka to catch the Shinkaisen.
A Wonderful Stay but a Bit Hard to Find”
Rooms in Japan are typically quite small. However the room was much larger than I expected. Very clean. The mattress was extremely comfortable which was important as I suffer from back injury. The staff was very professional and calm. Lots of Shopping, Restaurants, and several stations nearby (Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Nankai Namba) all within walking distance. (I did not, however, eat at the hotel as I had previous reservations at another location, however the in-room menu looked nice and reasonably priced. Also, the restaurant/bar Barkt on the first floor -though only accessible by leaving the lobby--looked like a nice place as well.) Although very close to many stations, the hotel was incredibly difficult to locate come from the station. I am no stranger to Asia and traveling here as I've lived here for many years but it took over 45mins for me to locate the hotel. The hotel's online map doesn't list any other landmarks other than itself. I had to use my phones GPS system to locate the right street. The street's name is not listed on the main road (the road where all the stations exit onto) but rather, halfway down which is not visible
Location, location, location”
As titled, the Hotel location is mostly one of its highlight on the area. You are literally in the middle of Dotonbori & Shinsaibashi area - which is the heart of Osaka for most travelers. Food and shopping spots are abundant and you won’t running out of option for them. The hotel itself considerably moderate in terms of facilities and services. Yes, the rooms are relatively Japanese standards in size which may considerably small for average caucasian travelers but if you have a full-day itinerary to stay out it will be more then enough. Staffs are helpful and attentive. They are more English speaking then the rest of the people in the area, so requests and queries are easy to convey. The rooms are clean but not impressive. One of the things to be considered, especially if you’re traveling with young ones, is that there are several gentlemen’s club and ‘club Adam’ surrounding the hotel, therefore sharp looking gentlemen, sexy outfitted ladies, and hung-over fellows in the morning are common scenes. Though, bear in mind they are not offensive nor harassed nor displaying erotic scene sporadic. You have to well aware that culture-wise the Japanese people are very well mannered individuals by nature. And even though you don’t see law enforcement wondering around, if there’s an event within couple of minutes 5 officers had attended on scene and all settled nicely.
Pleasent Stay in Holiday Inn Osaka Namba”
