Great place to start a journey”
stepped off a plane tired and dusty then stepped into the elegant reception area of holiday inn straight away my spirits lifted. had a wonderful nights sleep in a spacious and very comfortable bed followed by an amazing breakfast where the service was outstanding. this was an excellent start to our holiday in south africa.

Overall OK but not 4 star for sure”
I stayed in Holiday Inn Sandton last two years and most of things about this hotel remain the same except"service" as I have spent a week here again this time it will be my last time! Room has no amenities only soap and after we have informed the house keeping that we need shampoo and amenities in room they have filled just one time. I have wet in bathroom and waiting for a bottle of hair shampoo for ten minutes !!! As a business trip does not allow me to carry too much stuff and I never have to prepare an amenity for bathroom before its made me feel that the hotel being too cheap for being 4 star standard. Also the AC in room made too much of noise almost impossible to set as its went off itself every few hours. The hotel says that they do provide shuttle to the Mandala Sqaure but they are never punctual. Unlikely the others hotel in Sandton the shuttle will always wait for the customer and frequently you can see them come and pickup their guess. Apart from a good location that you can walk(10 minutes) to Mandala Square and good size of room ...I was not impress with the poor service.

Great hotel in Joburg”
The hotel is nice but be warned to take an Uber from the Gautrain if you have luggage because some Construction on the route to the hotel will make it somewhat of a trek. Also, I recommend using Uber because the hotel arranged taxi is more expensive. I would stay here again for sure and the location is great!

Excellent restaurant staff, very rude and dishonest reception. ”
This hotel has charged much higher than listed price showing different causes meaningful only to them. I met different staff at reception over my six - day stay... unfortunately all of them are equally rude and proud. As per the website, I was supposed to pay usd 84 per day (on average), and they have charged more than usd 110 per day on average adding another usd 14 per day for breakfast. Rooms and facility as a whole were very nice and clean. Staff at the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and decent. Food was good too. Location is also very good. Considering room rate manipulation and rude staff, I would not recommend this hotel as one can get better Location and hotel at a much cheaper price.

Friendly and value for money”
It was a pleasure. The front desk staff were well trained. Checking in and check-out were fast and prompt. Internet access was available in-room. Location wise-it's 15mins walk to Mandela Square/Shopping/Dining. Easy accessible to major highways. Parking is not complimentary for hotel guests although it is discounted per exit.

expensive hotel/not value for money”
Stayed in a room directly above hotel elctricity generators which were on for the whole day one the most important day of my saty. Had to complain to the hotel management to have the mahines switched off. The room rate is too expensive for the size of the room. No mini bar provided. Fridge not working For the amount of money paid for a night, breakfast should be includedCheck out time is to restrictive for a business traveller departing late night. The request for late check out met with deaf ears Staff on the other hand are very professonal and helfpful in terms of handling guest

Nice Hotel”
The room was neat and clean - staff very responsive to any requests - excellent latte in the coffee bar. Breakfast buffet extensive and delicious. Enjoyed the roof top swimming pool too. At check-in the desk clerk was told to assist a gentleman behind me even though I was next in line -- he was dressed in a business suit and presumably 'more important' than a tourist. The clerk later apologized but that's not how to treat guests. All other staff were helpful, responsive and pleasant.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good sized rooms”
We have stayed at this hotel several times and there is sometimes a problem at check-in! I had booked and paid thru Agoda for 2 nights, but was told it was for 1 night and would have to pay for 2nd night! I showed her that the Hotel Voucher was paid for 2 nights and she just smiled so I gathered it was ok. On check-out we were being charged for 2nd night!! After showing them the copy voucher I had, and a wait, everything was ok. Frustrating! Maybe better training of staff would be appropriate.

First trip to SA and have been told service standards are improving overall but mai issue was lack of local food on menu or lack of variety. Room are Ok but not spectacular. Good buiness hotel for budget/ mid market hotels
