Very Disappointed with the managment.”
The host, couple, (homestay) was very friendly and trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
A day before our arrival, we call the hotel contact number given on the hotel voucher, it was not in use. We still try to call during our drive, still the same. We ask for direction at the Archeology Muzium and the staff manage to contact the homestay management telephone number and we drove to Kampong Beng. However, we still unable to locate the homestay. Again we ask the villager and finally, the in-charge came and an escort direct us to the location. The drive to the location through narrow jungle path for 25 mins. On arrival, we are worried,is this the correct place? As the homestay is not what was shown on the web site photo. After some show-round of the kampong and lake area, we relectantly stay-on. What make our stay comfortable is the host couple. The warm and caring couple are trying to make our stay enjoyable. For stay, its back to nature, where you can birds chirpping, frog/toad croaking and sometimes wild animals. If you are lucky, an elephant. Its serene and quiet, away from the busy city. For meals, we just have to ask the host to cook the normal kampong dishes as there is no restaurant or shop within 10 - 20 KM of the area and driving is not very pleasant without a 4-wheel drive. The malay cooking is nice & traditional, don't expect much. Drinking water & bathing is from the waterfall. Is very cooling, but don't pay too much attention to the color, or else you will not want to drink. We drank the boiled water anyway. For future stay, I better book meals included.
