Nice resort away from tourist-path”

bungalows with megaview, super pool, not too expensive, nice local surroundings to explore with motorbike (easy to rent)

The resort is great. Pool and views from bungalows are breathtaking. Reaching the place is little adventurous. The place has not too many international tourists which makes it very special. Right next to resort interesting local places to visit such as famous cave-pagoda, local beach (a bit dirty for European standard; a little bit disappointing, but swimming in the pool with seaview helped a lot), lovely fisher- and agriculture-villages (great chance to get in touch with locals). When coming, if you decide to take one of the really nice bungalows (we absolutely recommend them), first thing you should ask for is insect spray. We had 2-3 cockroaches in the first day, sprayed and then no more. This is Asia ;) Staff is superfriendly, we got everything done very smoothly and quickly.

great pool & ocean view

off by itself away from other resorts, if you are not looking for "action" then this place is for you. the beach is not suitable for sun or water bathing and is a bit dirty but good for watching the fishing boats and the sunset. not a lot of restaurants nearby so you are stuck with the hotel food which is ok but nothing special. good pool and enough loungers to go around.

Unsatisfactory Stay”

Swimming Pool

I found my stay at Hon Trem Resort & Spa as very disappointing. Initially it seemed quite an attractive hotel, but when I got to my room I shortly discovered that the internet wasn't working well in the rooms, the TV reception was awful and the shower was leaking. Of course after requesting some assistance the hotel tried to repair these but they were only successful in fixing the shower. Additionally on the second day a group arrived that had a Karaoke party took over the usual restaurant in the evening, which was fine, but my partner and I were informed the party would finish at 9pm. However, we were unable to sleep as the Karaoke was still blaring and was keeping us up. Finally at 10:30pm I requested the hotel staff to end the party, but they were hesitant to do so until I insisted. The only thing I felt which was satisfactory was the swimming pool. Consequently, I left the resort 2 days earlier than intended.

Nice hotel with excellent view”

Good rooms, nice view, delicious food, nice pool

We stayed two nights at this hotel in a deluxe double room with a balkony towards the cost line including an awesome view. However there is now beach so if you want to swim you might use the pool which is also close to the sea and seemed to be clean and in good shape. The staff at the reception organized a boat trip which was relatively expensive (2.9 Mio Dong) and not delivering the service we agreed on with the hotel (start 4h later than planned etc.). However it might be really hard to do this on your own as already no one of the local people in this area speaks English.

Little bit of paradise”

Beautiful views, large well-appointed room and great service

When I booked this accommodation, I was looking for somewhere quiet and serenely beautiful to chill for a few days, after a hectic tour of Vietnam. I got way more than I bargained for. The hotel has been brought up to world-class standards, and although it was Tet, the service was attentive, personal and yet unobtrusive. I actually stayed for another 4 nights, before moving on, and would recommend to anyone looking for comfort and great service, in a little bit of paradise. I also commend the hotel director, Mr. Chihn Van Nguyen for helping me to make arrangements for forward-travel. His understanding of my requirements, and ability to pull some options together in this very busy holiday time in Vietnam was very welcome, and I am able to move ahead with my plans in a timely way. As a woman travelling along, Much appreciated!

Nice clean hotel with excellent wiev.”

Clean and good service.

we had a nice time relaxing at the resort. a good hotel which is clean and nice with a very nice pool. the wiev was excellent. the staff was very service minded. we had an excursion out in the archipalago one day, with help from the manager at the hotel, which was a very interesting day. the only negative thing to say that the knowledge in english was very poor, except the managers english. (and he was there almost all the time.) defied that, we manage quit well.

Would like to return someday”

We arrived on a Monday to stay for only 2 nights, a beautiful resort, however I think we were the only ones there in the entire resort, which wasn't a bad thing, some areas were in need of repair, but they were actively working on things, I was suprised to see only 3 lounge chairs at the pool area, they had no towels or open bar for drinks, the guy at the front desk seemed like he didn't really care about much, but the other staff were good, would love to go again sometime, but next time I will fly to the large nearby island, the 12 hour drive through south vietnam was slow and arduous

Nice a quiet location, great view ( from the bungalows)

There was no spa and massage, the pool wasn't clean but the place was nice and the view to the sea great terrific. If you look for tranquility and do not require a lot of services this is a great place. ( but a little difficult to get to with public transportation)

outdated place with very poor service”

hotpots in the restaurant, pool

Its a strongly overrated hotel. In short, its outdated regarding facilities and rooms, the beach is disgusting, full of rubbish, although there is so much staff at the hotel cleaning the empty premises.. There is a ship repair workshop right next to the entrance so it stinks of oil and glue or whatever. the hotel is deserted, you feel little spooky being there alone. Once there is a group of locals which is probably the only source of revenue for the ptoperty as there are no foreign tourists, its noisy, dirty, they make a mess in the restaurant, jump in the pool with their clothes, spit everywhere, shout. Breakfast is ridiculous, scarce, cold, staff eats same time as you, star cleaning everything 20 min till the end of meal time.. No activities suggested, not even bicycles to rent. Sunbeds broken, view from villas blocked by large trees, damaged inside walls due to leaking, bugs inside. No one speaks english, and therefore you face big misunderstandings in the restaurant. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. They have a nice large pool which is surprisingly clean, and good hot pots, but thats pretty much it. I left a throughout review with more details, i do advise to check it before you actually make a decision to book here a room. We followed other reviews which were quite good, but most things there are so not true. If you have never been to a proper 4 star hotel, this one might just be ok for you, but ive stayed in many 4star hotels around the world and this one should have a 2 star rating at best. We were happy to get out of there after shortening our stay, and would not recommend it to anyone!

Good potential but deserted”

Beautiful cliffside location

This hotel has great potential and Is located on a beautiful cliffside with a great view however unfortunately it feels more like a big haunted house due to lack of guests. Dont be suprised if you are the only people staying there. This meant that the hotel was not running to full potential and made tthe restaurant (and the only place to eat in town) of very poor quality ie ordered chicken and was served chicken feet. Also most of the facilites are not staffed including pool bar and massage centre.

Inexpensive

The hotel looks good, is clean and has an ok lobby lounge. Rooms are ok as well. The pool area has a perfect location, right next to the beach. However, there were only 4-5 lounge chairs avaiblable - really poor! The beach, unfortunately, is very dirty, with lots of garbage flushed up. The staff can hardly speak English. Major impression: the hotel has no atmosphere what so ever. I would not go there again.
